Finally bought something this sale: The Mawesome pack. I played the demo and found it hilarious, plus Splosion man was incredible so I feel obligated to buy this.

I'll probably pick up Republic Commando tomorrow as well, I have good memories of that game. 2 games to play will be more than enough for me. To those picking up over a hundred, I say good luck to you!

I came almost comically close to buying F1 when I was experiencing a late night buying itch yesterday. So glad that I adhered to the first rule of Steam sales.

Wait, I'm confused is today the last day, or is it tomorrow when they do the sales recap?

That has been the trend for all these years, but I'd be cautious and hold on just a little longer for all those other games you'd want to get. That's just paranoid me though.

The GFWL disabler won't get me banned from Steam, will it :x ?
Considering that modded FO3 basically runs outside Steam I'm sure you'll be okay. They only care about you messing with your game files if the game goes online, I've played hundreds of hours of modded FO3 on Steam and my account is still in good standing. Go nuts :)

Ah, just checking because sometimes Valve can be weird when editing EXEs and DLLs

Also the no GFWL mod said I didn't have any DLC. I have the GOTY edition, so is that the message I should be getting?

My only disappointment is not seeing Mirror's Edge on sale
Seriously. After Brotherhood, it was the game I was looking forward to most this sale. Also, Lumines didn't go on sale at all and neither did Jade Empire. We should make a list of games that didn't go on sale and shun them.

If only there was some way to like, open Windows Steam in Wine and then play games through there, haha.

For some reason it irritates me to boot into my Windows partition so I don't play games that I have on it as much.

Did you check if the dlc is selected in the loader? (also get FOMM to load mods)

Also if you get into modding, (thats what the dlcs essentially are) make sure the "Load Order" is proper.

Everything is done as an override with Gamebryo games so it's pretty safe for the most part.

It's been a while since I installed it but I think that's right. DLC usually lives in your GFWL profile folder so it needs to copy it across, but the GOTY version just chucks it into your Data folder like the vanilla game files.

launchers should be fine. i used one for several games for mods including ones that did memory hacks to change textures

The demo worked fine for me, the controls are pretty simple. You'll need to turn the mouse sensitivity up though as the camera spins around REALLY slow. Maybe the full game fixes that issue.

I don't know what you're on about here, but if you're suggesting that you can run every mod for Gamebryo games using the standard launcher then you're wrong. Trust me.

Resorted my Steam categories into Beaten, Played/Playing, and Unplayed. The Unplayed category now has 90 games in it. :(

There's a bunch of shit in the "played" category that I've really only messed around with for like an hour, too. So they barely count.

Only 5 games filed as "beaten," for now.

I think I still need 1-2 more categories. One for multiplayer games or games I just fuck around in, that don't really have an end state so I can't file them in "beaten" - Galcon Fusion, Football Manager, TF2, Terraria, Delve Deeper, Altitude, etc.

I also probably need a category for shit I don't want at all and will never play, but it came in bundles. In fact, Steam desperately needs a "hide game from library" button. I somehow have Civ IV and its expansions listed in my library twice, and I CANNOT get rid of the second listing. Plus, the aforementioned Junk games I'm tired of looking at. And "TF2 beta."

I'm also officially out of HD space, which is annoying. I'm going to have to prioritize the next few games I play based on how much HD space they're taking up. The Witcher at 14GB is an especially bad one.

Although, it's weird where our gamer instincts take us, sometimes. I have 90, NINETY new games to play, but I fired up The Ultimate Doom to mess around with for "a few minutes," and ended up playing through like 15 levels before I could pull myself away. Go figure. Thinking about just finishing it up, at this point.

I got the first season of Sam and Max for $5 a while back from the telltale website but now I see the special today and I'm like, "Sure would be nice if I could have them all on the cloud."

Is $13 a good price for cloud and seasons 2&3?

Also, I've always thought Sudoku below word searches and what-is-different-between-these-two-pictures type puzzles in puzzle higharchy. Am I wrong?

Tried looking through the thread and X isn't exactly the easiest term to ctrl+f.

Anyone with any insight on the X SuperBox? If I only wanted to play one, which would it be?

What are the chances of Vampire The Masquerade being a daily deal tomorrow?

Should I just say fuck it and buy it now?
That's what I did. Historically Steam has recaps on the last day, so I just went ahead and bit it. The $13 won't kill me for an amazing game.

I've been following the sale like a hawk, so I'm PRETTY sure I didn't miss it, but just in case.. Bulletstorm never dropped below it's current price of 30 bucks, did it?

From all the things I've read and watched, looks like a game I'd find value in at halfish that price.

The front page does say "New deals every day - June 30th - July 10th" as pointed out above, so I'd hold off on non-dailies until tomorrow to be sure they won't go on sale.

I can't wait for these sales to be over for the year so I can download stuff at a decent speed. Dead Rising 2 is coming down at 41kb/s. Seriously it feels like I'm downloading realplayer videos of Futurama episodes on dial-up.

I came in wanting:

Titan Quest Gold Edition
Magic the Gathering: Duel of the Planewalkers
Neverwinter Nights 2 Platinum Edition

I got 1 out of 3,

plus sooooo much more! A gratuitous amount more

Yes, do it~ Season 2 and especially season 3 are much better than season 1 as well. Definitely worth it for that price (and I don't believe the complete pack has even been more than 75% off--I got it when it was a daily deal a few weeks ago for $17 and I definitely felt it was worth it).

Shunning Jade Empire isn't a bad idea anyway. The mouse cursor is completely invisible due to a bug that's never been fixed, so unless you have high tolerance for mousing around blindly, save yourself $5 and get something else.

For all we know, that sign could just mean that tomorrow we get a series of economic deals from President FD Roosevelt.

I am too, but I'm not holding my breath. It's just that I can go one extra day just to make sure nothing I want miraculously goes on sale if I've waited the entire sale.

I agree that Season 2 and Season 3 are better than Season 1, but Season 1 is still fantastic. Anyone who likes adventure games and/or has a sense of humor should pick up the Sam & Max pack today.

Well, there are new deals through the 10th because these deals do not expire until the 10th at 10AM PST. I wouldn't read too much into it, especially given Portal 2's presence among today's dailies.

This presumption is technically incorrect (since there wouldn't be any NEW new deals after midnight on the 10th) but, historically speaking, probably as close as we're going to get to an explanation for the wording. But hey we'll see.
