Well, there are new deals through the 10th because these deals do not expire until the 10th at 10AM PST. I wouldn't read too much into it, especially given Portal 2's presence among today's dailies.

This presumption is technically incorrect (since there wouldn't be any NEW new deals after midnight on the 10th) but, historically speaking, probably as close as we're going to get to an explanation for the wording. But hey we'll see.
The presence of new achievements for the 10th leads people to hope that there'll be new deals to match them.

So today is the last day and tomorrow will be a recap of the best sellers? I hope Deus Ex and Cities XL is there.

I'm trying to go for The Fate of the World achievement, and I can't even make it through the tutorial. Man is the game hard. I keep throwing everything I can to appease Africa and yet it keeps breaking out into war. They want education, I give them education. They want jobs, I give them jobs. They want medicine, I improve their healthcare. What else am I supposed to do? I spend so much money on improving their quality of life that I don't have any left over for technology. And if I focus on technology, they complain about quality of life. I have either a war breaking out due to civil unrest or a rebellion because I can't protect them from natural disasters.

Ugh

Why do you keeping spamming that gamespot review?

2nd time when someone is asking is hardly spamming. And I provided an answer to his question in case you didnt catch that.

Here are a few other answers:

As for X3, is the Reunion demo a good indicator of what to expect in Terran Conflict? I heard TC is the game to go for, but it doesn't seem to have a demo. Only Reunion has a demo.

Anyone? Having never played an X game before I'm not sure whether to buy TC or not.

Yeah, they are very similar, only having different story mission stuff, which isnt what you are playing the game for anyway. If you like Reunion, just buy TC.

Sorry, I sounded like a bit of a dick there :(

The way I see it, at 2.50 and with the free DLC that adds 3 new cars and a new track, it's not the worst purchase ever.

No problem, steam sales are too exciting :p Especially if you want others to check out a game that you think is interesting.

I only gave the impression I found in most reviews and linked to them so he could check them out to see whether the game might be his cup of tea.

Sorry if that enraged you though :)

Dang, was really looking forward to getting X3:TC but with Tages DRM and activation limits... Fuck that, when will they learn.
What are you talking about? None of that is mentioned on the Steam page. People should report it to Valve or something if that's the case.

Ah okay thanks, I'll play the demo of Reunion then and see if TC's worth the purchase for me.

How do you guys keep your Steam games organized? The size of my one long list has gotten a bit unbearable, and I'm looking for ideas on a good organizational paradigm. Can't just go with finished/playing/unplayed cause that ignores never ending multi player games like TF 2 and score attack games like Beat Hazard. I know if I don;t get some ideas I'll end up with 30 different categories though and that wont help.

There seems to be a problem with Hitman on my machine. Running windows 7 32bit with a 6870 and it looks like this:

I've asked before but just want to get a few more opinions on the Sam & Max collection and X3. I've never really played either genres before but they're interesting me, for someone new to both genres are they worth buying?

Mine are broken up into categories:

Currently Playing
Finished
Ignore
TellTale (since they're broken up into so many episodes I have a category for them)
Unfinished

Just organize by genre or use the grid style.

I wouldn't say I was enraged! lol Just seems like a lot of those reviews criticise the price/content ratio, which is kind of rectified when it's on sale.

I got inspired by some of the screenies other gaffers posted here, and organized mine into:
  • Casual - Beat Hazard, etc.
  • Online - TF2, etc. Any multiplayer-only game goes here.
  • Finished - Any game with beginning/middle/end that I have beaten.
  • Not Finished - Any game with beginning/middle/end that I have started but not finished.
  • Not Played - Any game with beginning/middle/end that I haven't even installed yet.
  • Zero Interest In Playing - Things I don't want to play, called thus so they're at the bottom of the list.
I am still working on the names for Finished/Not Finished/Not Played, would like to have them alphabetized so Casual is on top, Online second, Playing third, Not Started fourth, Finished fifth, and Garbage last.

Yeah it seems I jumped the gun a bit, looks like it's been patched out, I'm still looking to see if Tages actually gets installed onto the computer though, does anyone know?

I think that may be caused by forcing AA in your catalyst settings.

Sam & Max is the point & click adventure genre, so it's really easy to get into. You play mostly for the puzzles and for the story, and S&M is top notch in both. Get them: you won't regret it.

The Sam & Max games are great. Watch a couple of trailers and if you think they're vaguely funny and charming, go for it because the games are basically that. If you're really unsure you could just get season one, but they're so cheap I'd probably just get the set.

That is a good idea. I hate the way categories are implemented in Steam; it's easier to keep them all in "all games" and then use the keyboard shortcuts to skip to a letter, but that would make things so much cleaner when browsing. Stupid Telltale Complete pack.

How sure are you people that there won't be another set of NEW daily deals tomorrow?

It's been a trend with the huge sales Valve has had in the past, I'm gonna just have stuff in my cart ready to go and not actually buy it until I know for sure.

I have 2 killing floor 3 days passes to send to anyone who needs one - could be good to get the summer sale ticket if you don't have the game

PM me your email address and I'll send
