much better graphics? what.Caerith said:I was on the fence about Terraria at $2.49, but can't justify it at $4.99 when there's a sandbox/building game with much better graphics available for $0.00

Maybe so, but I don't believe that 75% off was because of a human error and the discount was supposed to be 50%. Someone must be paid to check that all the prices are correct, right? And if it was due to an error I can't see how that went unnoticed for 4-5 hours.R1CHO said:To be honest, a 75% for a game quite new and that still was selling good like terraria seemed a bit weird.
If it was Valve's fault, I imagine they'd be compensated. It's kind of weird though; it's happened at least ten times before.Gez said:If it was a mistake by Valve if the dev will be compensated?
Blizzard said:Mwaha, I got Terraria at 75% off! About time I profit from one of these price changes. (assuming Steam doesn't BAN ME 4EVAR for doing so ;p)

Steam does lots of oopses. I'm just glad their mistakes benefit the people who buy early: could you imagine the outrage if they had instead lowered the price 6 hours later?Artofwar420 said:Why do you do this Steam?! There's no way this is a "oops, we put the wrong price." This is deliberate.

Second rule of Steam sales: if it looks too good to be true, buy it before Valve fixes it.
Yeah, this price hike was meant to sucker in shmucks who put it in their cart while they looked at other Daily Deals, hoping they wouldn't notice and buy it anyway.Xzior said:Maybe so, but I don't believe that 75% off was because of a human error and the discount was supposed to be 50%. or maybe I am just upset bloodlines wasn't a daily deal and I'm holding out all hope that there is still a possibility.
Well in that case they should cleary say that after X amount of sold copies the discount will change.HBroward said:I bet the Terraria devs set a limit to the number of copies sold at the $2.49 price. This kind of thing has happened before I believe.

Specifically, it always crashes when fighting a Super Mutant Brute in front of the radio station.
What's wrong with that? I enjoy saving moneySarcasm said:Well there is a negative to steam, makes people turn in to cheapskates =p
I did some file editing.Carm said:That's just how FO3 is heh. Sometimes it will just constantly crash over and over again. Then when I load it up the next day, in the exact same area in game, zero crashes. You'll learn to work around it, manual and quick save at least once an hour.
That...that avatar, it's...Sarcasm said:Well there is a negative to steam, makes people turn in to cheapskates =p
It's a good rule to heed in any case. Back when I was in college, Amazon.com screwed up and offered all NERF guns at like 5% off, except when it calculated the prices it was charging you the discount instead, so "You save $0.50" became "You pay $0.50". They fixed it in a few hours, but by then half the dorm had placed their orders.Artofwar420 said:Yeah, that's the sad thing. They can't go back now and that rule should be one to heed for the next sale.
I agree.Xzior said:Well in that case they should cleary say that after X amount of sold copies the discount will change.

If I was a small dev I would most certainly keep an eye out to see that the discount was correct, and this is not the first time this as happend.Caerith said:It's a good rule to heed in any case. Whenever big sales go on, there's bound to be mistakes and oversights. Maybe it's a sincere mistake, maybe it's an intentional "error" just to drum up business. Either way, why hesitate?
Yes, very much soArtofwar420 said:Alright, let's accept this new price and ask the relevant question. Is Terraria worth it at 5 dollars?
Right click on the game in your game list, set category. Do that for every single game. Voila.LuchaShaq said:Dumb question but how can you break them up into these lists? On my client the only options are the default groupings?
