I hope the King's Bounty stuff becomes a daily deal. Still beating myself up for missing it the past winter.

Also, The Next Big Thing. The Giant Bomb quicklook sold me on it.

Just Cause 2 has been bought, I hope is good

It is. I'd encourage EVERYONE to pick it up for $5. Some will merely enjoy it - others, like me, will love the dicks off of it.

Seconding this. Game is AMAZING with mods aswell. I roll around with godmode and infinite ammo on just to feel like rambo.

It's very cheap, so you can take it as well, if you wish to know the beginning of the story. But, from my point of view, second part in all the ways better.

OK, thanks. For just a few quid, I'll pick it up anyway.

So I was checking out the widescreen fix for KOTOR and it said this in the readme file:

-Due to crashing or a missing text issue, KOTOR can not be run at standard widescreen resolutions below 1440x900. For users of 720p HDTVs (most of which have an actual native resolution of 1360x768), I suggest creating a custom resolution of 1530x864 (a relatively uniform 1.125 scaling) and using video card scaling to downscale to 1360x768. You would then patch KOTOR to 1530x864, not 1360x768, of course.

Since my computer is 1360x768 I have followed the steps to set WS to 1530x864, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to downscale using video card scaling, or link me to an explanation. Thanks in advance to people who are a lot smarter than me

A little more than two hours to go before the next deals. What are your predictions/hopes for todays sales?

Mine:
Portal 2 (must be someday)
Frozen Synapse
Brink
BF:BC2 (always on sale)
F1 2010 75% off
Sega Mega Drive collections 75% off (so they are dirt cheap to buy all 4 packs)

Space Chem is pretty original and great. Finished the tutorial levels and a couple in the first set afterwards. When you get to complex building it can feel daunting at first, but it is immensely rewarding solving the problems and getting it all to work out.

I also bought Faerie Solitaire as a gift for $1.25. After watching him playing it for a bit, I think I actually might want it myself now. Seems like a fun relaxing game. Like Solitaire with light RPG mechanics.

I also broke down and bought Frozen Synapse for me and a couple of friends. I hope it doesn't go on sale now but $8 a copy (two copies for $16) seemed like a pretty good deal as it was.

So I already broke the "don't purchase it until it is on sale or the last day" rule. No more from here on out, though!

So far I bought:

Frozen Synapse $16
Space Chem $6
Just Cause 2 $5
Might & Magic Pack $5 x 2 (gifted one)
Braid $2 (gift)
KoTR $2.50 x 2 (gifted one)
Reccettear $5 (gift)
Faery Solitaire $1.25 (gift)

So around $50 total. Need to slow down and stop buying gifts for other people!

It's kinda crazy how many potentially good games are on sale fo $2.50 or less, i just bought VVVVVV and Cogs. There must be at least a dozen other games i'm considering purchaing for a similar price, man i love Steam.

I'd put money on it being in one of the deals. Definitely waiting till the last day for myself.

I thought I had read about people still saying they had trouble running KOTOR in Win 7 64. I looked back a few pages and couldn't find it.

So, in these last 94 minutes of yesterday's sale, did anyone have problems running KOTOR in Windows 7 64-bit?

Thanks for the quick replies. I forgot to ask if it supports the X360 controller though.
Yeah, Braid has perfect 360 pad support.

It runs fine for me. Holds up quite nicely in 1080p with SGSSAA.

Braid is incredible, if you don't have it, buy it before it's too late.

Worth mentioning.

All my hope is on Bloodlines for the dailies today.

Just avoid reading anything from Jonathan Blow afterwards. His essence will retroactively ruin your experience with the game.

I don't know if I should pick up Braid or not. Have it on the 360 but deleted it many years ago to make room for other games. Kind of want to play it again but don't know if I can get the 360 pad to work on the Mac. If I do get it it will probably be one of those last minute purchases.

Im really looking forward to a Valve Day, they usually have one of those right?

Not looking forward to Splinter Cell/Prince of Persia. Those always make the sales and I feel like most people would have already grabbed them if they wanted em. Sorry Ubi-soft but that would be a waste of a daily deal.

I had the same problem with Hamilton, but restarting Steam fixed it for me.

Awesome, thanks man.... that got Hamilton to work... GoG, still F'd up... so buyer beware on that one

I feel like Braid is a one time hit. I also played it at launch, but the appeal have worn off - there are plenty of games to buy instead. Like Just Cause 2.

I just want a decent RPG. Preferably Titan's Quest Gold for <$5, or something like that. I've been wanting that forever since I missed out on the original super sale on it.

Titan Quest is like Diablo. In fact it is easily the best Diablo clone not named Torchlight. If you like this type of game grab it. I personally enjoyed Titan Quest more than Torchlight. So much good phat lewt to find.

I am out of town...is there a way to still buy these games and have them for when I get back home?

Log into your Steam profile from the steampowered website and purchase away! Games will be in your account when you get home.

If you can get on GAF, why can't you get on Steam's website?

He might only be on a mobile device and doesn't know you can buy through the website.

Website uses flash for the videos, but it doesn't stop you from buying anything, even on a smart phone.

Just Cause 2 is really fantastic. Hopefully I'll beat it one of these days, BUT THERE'S SO MUCH TO DO!

As for what I want to today's sale, anything from my Wishlist would be great. Although, I want RE5 for at least 75% off.

Iono, first Steam sale and all. Just asking.

Feel better knowing that I can still spend money while not in front of my home comp/account :p

Ok GAF, can you recommend me a good aerial combat game on Steam? 2D or 3D, I don't care but preferrably more arcade-like. Thanks!

Wings of Prey is on sale at the minute, around £7 I think

So far I've only bought The Longest Journey + Dreamfall and KotOR. Bloodlines is on my wishlist, and I'll definitely get it before the 10th if it doesn't go Daily.

What are the chances Mass Effect will go on sale?

That wasn't meant to read as being condescending or anything, sorry if it came across that way.
