Here's an excerpt from a recent J-List email:

As you know, we've licensed the excellent science fiction adventure game Steins;Gate for release in English, and here's an update on our progress. The metal Future Gadget Laboratory pins have been manufacturered and are in San Diego now, and we've started printing the packages at a large facility in Japan. (The limited edition packaging and artbook are being printed in Japan so we can get the maximum quality, matching the Japanese version of the game.). The game master is also being worked on at a feverish pace, and we're on target for an early 2014 release as planned. Make sure you've got your preorder for the limited edition of the English version of the game! It comes with two "lab member" pins in a case, a glossy artbook with original content, the game on DVD-ROM plus a download code for the game so you can play it the day it's released!

Thought I'd throw this link in here for anyone interested but I'm trying to get a Steins;Gate community set up in off topic/community since we haven't had one until now despite the series being so good. Feel free to pop over if you're interested, I'm hoping the game'll come out soon and I hope you guys enjoy the game as much as I did. ^^

Thanks for linking that, I'll check it out later.

Also, March 31st mah birthday! :D

Just grabbed my pre-order copy today. Knew the game was coming, but I must have missed out on the limited edition version. Coming at the end of March is good as there's a nice break between releases.

Can not wait!

Edit: It looks like I actually posted in this thread and forgot to preorder. I am a terrible person.

Steins;Gate was one of the few animus I actually liked. I definitely need to buy the PC version of the original work.

But JAST only does PC, that's the problem. 5pb doesn't usually release their games on PC, the original Chaos;Head and the port of Steins;Gate from Xbox 360 being the main exceptions.

Well, I can dream, And the PS3 is getting a VN physical release in the US via Hakuoki later this month. The more I think about it, the more I realize that opens some serious doors.

The IBM 5100 Portable Computer was introduced in September of 1975 with a retail price as low as $8,975 USD for a model with 16KB of RAM. It weighed 55 pounds and sported an expansive 5-inch monochrome display.

The experiment now under way shares astonishingly few characteristics with the IBM 5100.

Hmm... they keep referring to this "experiment". And it doesn't share many characteristics with the IBM 5100, apparently. Guess that lowers the probability of it being Steins;Gate 8-bit, heh.

I never really thought about this possibility before, but maybe they're planning on releasing a game demo?

Daily update:
Today's experiment: Slightly mushy, but oddly comforting.

Lol. Song of Saya. Porn games that involve boning lolis aren't getting on Steam.

Aselia is the only JAST product that would make sense/be possible to put on Steam.

This is probably my most anticipated game this year. When it was announced for NA, I preordered the special edition instantly.

I'm not a huge anime fan by any means, but I watched the S;G anime (subbed) after seeing the "I am mad scientist" clip and absolutely loved it. I re-watched the anime, dubbed this time, when the game was announced and the dub is spectacular. The writing and acting are superb. I encourage anyone who has only seen the sub to watch the dub, it's that good.

More info from twitter! Looks like they're about 66% sold out of the Limited Edition so far.

Daily Countdown:
It's Friday night (in the Western Hemisphere). What's cookin'?

Gah. Wish it would've been at the end of Feb instead of March. I still have no idea what this game is about. I've avoided the anime just so I can go in fresh. Pretty excited.

Good move. There's stuff the VN handles way, WAY better, especially the true end. The anime is great, the VN is a masterwork.

Pretty much the same, though I got 10 episodes into the anime before quitting once I realized the game came first. Apparently, that's where stuff really starts popping off, so I'm glad I stopped when I did.

Looking forward to being able to play the VN. Hoping I enjoy it.
