I am UK based and want to purchase some shares in a company as i believe they have promise to yield at least a 10 fold return within 5 years, but i am getting lost in the various fees, commission charges etc

Is there somewhere that i can open an account, pay for my trade transaction and be done with it until i want to sell, or do i have to have an ongoing fee for holding the shares?

at least provide me a link to said banana stand

Considering that you don't know how to set up an account, have you looked through the company's past few financial statements to see they are financially okay?

Anyway, when you buy shares, you pay a small percentage (0.2 percent in my case) for each transaction. There is no fees for holding the share. After you buy them, they are legally yours.

If your bank does securities trading, you can just visit there and they will set up an account for you. It is pretty simple.

normally it's just transaction fees, but I've heard of accounts charging fees when inactive (not making regular transactions) which is real shitty. Robinhood is free, but not available in the UK, although they do plan to expand to UK sometime

good thread

also if you're a beginner it's better to share and discuss ideas I think, holding onto trade ideas is only worth it if you're experienced and have done plenty of dd

Thankyou for the thread link, some good stuff in there, after reading through the past couple of years reports i think my original 10 fold in 5 years was massively optimistic, but still looks like it will have market leading growth over the next few years.
