As most know by now, Mika can cancel into her critical art, and her mic performance(mp+mk) buffs her throws and critical art depending on how long you hold it. However, the mic throw on hit has enough hit stun to combo after, and if you do it and immediately throw the mic, you still get the buff at the lowest level. While you cant confirm her critical art off the mic throw alone, you can confirm a cancellable normal off of it and then do the critical art.

Example: You stun the opponent off a throw, so damage scaling hasn't kicked hard yet. Do the mic throw, then s.mp, s.hp, then critical art. Depending on how much health they have, this would do anywhere from 400-450, after a stun, making it her best/most damaging follow up after stun. If you manage to land this combo without them being stunned, it does a whopping 526.

How the fuck do you counter jab against ken? I litterally can't do it, either every ken player is psychic and knows exactly when to attack or I'm doing something wrong

So, what are the characters the most "controller friendly" at this point ? I doubt I'll ever be able to use a stick anymore due to hands problems, so...
 
I looked thru the files and found the initials of "CMN" that may stand for Crimson Viper. Plus, those are her move settings.

CMN in files do not stand for common.

All characters have the same file form.

There are no other characters in SF series that have initials like that ,beside Crimson Viper.

I main Vega in SFIV, I started playing the beta and then I stop because I know things will be changed. HE is safe on a good bit of things he can even combo on a block flying barc.

I feel that capcom is going to make changes to him and everything i learned and tried in the beta will be gone.

Rashid seemed fairly easy with my Madcatz SFIV controller. Though wiht that controller my thumb get's sore on the d-pad after a while lol which I don't have wiht my Q4RAF stick.

Ah someone in a similar position as me. Honestly I believe you can use any character with a pad in this game. Execution is super lenient, nothing really requires abnormal dexterity. But obviously Ryu would be a good choice, or any grappler. Necalli is controller friendly too. Although my pad has six face buttons, so transitioning from stick wasn't very hard.

Or maybe a lot of these changes were going to happen regardless because they're still making the game and it isn't out. We're just seeing all of these changes because they've let people be so hands on during the development process. I believe they said not to get attached to characters in the 1st beta for this very reason.

What about those move names? "Kuzure", "Aomuke", "Ashibarai". These are all Judo moves, doesn't really fit Viper

edit: "Akebono", "Atemi" is in there as well.

edit2: Looks like CMN is a stage, too? I'm confused.
 
Is Karin the new flowchart charactercause I just sit back on her leaping overhead with necalli and just use his dp and that's it for the most part not fun. There are some good Karin players I def know that I've had my ass served to me but yeah odd.

Aomuke literally means face up. I believe these are just shared animations for characters animations when they get hit by stuff.

IMO: I think they kept some of her old settings and changed it up a bit for it to fit SFV . There is one of the CMN file that have Wheel_Upper ,but SF4 it was named Wheel Kick
 
Got up this morning excited to play with Cammy and get some more matches in.

Lost every one I played, the last one being a humiliating defeat against a Chun Li who did nothing but Kikokens and c.hk and block while crouching, and there wasn't anything I could do. I'm so frustrated because I felt like I was learning and then shit like that happens.

Not sure if legit but someone mentioned earlier that when using the action record function for the CPU you don't get matches. So just start recording and practice away, and just restart the recording once the timer maxes out.

If it was CMN =Common Why is it setting between BRD (Birdie) , and CMY (cammy) files?

Is it really? SFIV is one of the best balanced fighters in the past few years and theres like 45 characters in that game. Top 8 is always a pleasure to watch because there's usually 2 or 3 characters that don't appear very often that have as much potential to win as any other character at that high level, which is FANTASTIC balance compared to other fighters and previous SFs especially. I think Capcom's sense of balance, or at least Ono's, is very good. I think SFV will be just as balanced.

Vega dabess at the moment?

Vega was my main in usfiv and I can't play him decently in this version. His v-skill is much worse that I though and he shold be a charge character again. Motion is not doing any favors to him, especially flying Barcelona.

Not rally. From beta 1 til now characters got a lot worse for no reason while bison and birdie, arguably the best characters didnt. Thats not creating balance at all.

I don't think you wanted to quote me!?

The "common" explanation makes sense. Is that dump complete? Because I'm missing Karin's stage in the Stage\ files. CHN (China), CMN (Common?), LDN (London), NZL (New Zealand), RND (Random), TRN (Training) is in there.
 
Think about what your asking here.

The files are broken down into sections being in alphabetical order with the \chara\ and \content\ in it from all characters that have 3 initials for description in the file with move sets.

All the identical files that are the same withe different initial have the same "coding" or writing on their files.

Think about it they took the vowels out of the full name.

You really worrying about balance during the beta? Like really? It's clear that they're still experimenting with the game and the options that characters have. What is no reason to you is probably backed by a million reasons to them. The fact that some characters are having their traditional inputs messed around with like Chun and Bison having mixed and matched charge and motion based inputs and a character like Vega having no charge moves at all indicates that they are still very much experimenting with characters and balance. The game is still 4 to 5 months away from release which gives a lot of time for balance changes. Don't get your panties in a bunch over a beta.
