Worst part is, she was stunned and I dropped input in my finisher kick, cost me the match.

I still cry. I actually punched my wall.
Here is mine:
I had a Bison mirror last night where we were both to a sliver of health. He goes for Head Stomp, and I use Psycho Blast. We are both hit simultaneously (and in the win animation, you can see that both of us are in the hitstun animation), but he gets the win.

I've been out most of the weekend, any new info on Bison other than the nerf to inferno?



I mained Claw through all of SFIV and kept telling people he was shit. He never got good :(
I posted a big list of changes. Off the top of my head:

Nerfs:
df.HP hits once now, but might be faster/have more range.
c.HK no longer crushes (grrr).
c.MP range reduced.
Psycho Inferno now unsafe on block (all versions, including V-Trigger).
Psycho Inferno flame height significantly reduced (garbage as an anti-air now).
Psycho Blast now negative on block (all versions).
Psycho Blast range reduced.
c.HK unsafe at max range (unconfirmed; SRK forum claim).
c.HP range nerfed (unconfirmed; SRK forum claim).
s.HP no longer links to c.MP (SRK says it never did, but I swear it did).
Damage reduced (not sure on what, exactly).

Buffs:
Psycho Blast juggles now (not noteworthy; he already had Knee Press and Inferno juggles).
s.HK and s.HP crush.
Teleport dash is default (doesn't pass through players; VT version does).
EX Psycho Blast travels much slower.
s.LP is now special cancelable (unconfirmed; SRK forum claim).
VEX chains seem more consistent now.
Knee Press x CA seems more consistent now.

I am probably forgetting a few, though.

For some reason I interpreted the phrase of "nerfed him to shit" meaning that they turned him in to shit. My bad.

And yeah, I've restarted it and excited/re-entered. Nothing. Oh well, not a big deal. I'm studying between matches anyways... so maybe this is is good.

Am I crazy in thinking the game performs better on PC during the actual matches than during training mode? I particularly notice a slight frame drop during Chun's Super but only while training, this doesn't happen when I'm facing other characters.

Also, is there a PC performance thread? We had one for MKX... but then it was MKX :x

I swear there's alternating conclusions of Karin being garbage then Karin being OP in this thread.

Every character is OP and garbage at the same time ,in every fighter.

If you main the character , they are garbage
If you don't main them , then they are OP.
If you think your character is "Fine" , then that means you know he/she is OP , but you don't want the Capcops to find out.

I mean, you have to upload it somewhere to share it. Are you suggesting that Sony provide a web player of sorts and unlimited hosting for the feature when other options already exist?

Or perhaps let me upload it on a server such as youtube but allow me to easily link them to the video via a psn message.

Just look at Vega in the test location stages of USF4. The Vega players said making his jab links 2 frames made him too easy, so Capcom reverted it... Best thing is to say nothing at all...

I beat a 200 rank Ken easily, only to get wrecked by a 1000 rank Bison--one of only two Bisons I've fought all weekend.

The rankings don't tell the whole story, LOL.

I'm like +30,000, but to be fair I haven't really played much. Charlie is too awesome in this game.

I personally really dig it, but it has to be used really sparingly, and you are never going to get too much of a charge out of it. I do really hope they buff it a little.

One strategy I use is to hit the opponent with R. Mika's Rope Throw, follow up with Nadeshko (holding towards the opponent, so she hits them as they are stumbling towards the wall), and immediately start using the v-skill as they are spinning in the air. It will power you up enough to do, like, one hundred and fifty more points of damage on your next throw. Of course, you are sacrificing the seventy points of guaranteed damage you get from the fierce kick followup (or the one fifty if you have a bar of meter, at which point you should just use it instead of this)...

Yeah, it really does need a little tweaking, eh?

Why fierce kick follow up? You can wingless airplane after the rope throw.

Given the amount of nerfs the old characters got, I don't think cammy karin and vega are going to stay this way on final game.

So the tutorials are probably not gonna stay relevant super long, but it's still nice.

Plus I think they said they will turn the Beta on and off randomly.

Okay, yeah, you could totally followup with a wingless airplane instead of the dropkick for more damage. I am a big, dumb idiot with tunnel vision. Also, I clearly don't know what I am doing.

Any good combos you can recommend that utilise quick step?

1.St.Hp into v-skill (aka step) into crouching jab into srk, tastu, etc. You can use an extra jab to hit confirm it.
2.Roundhouse into vskill, cr.lp only links on counter hit.

While in VT you gain new links and they are a lot easier to do but there are some 1 frame links as well.

No, you can always do wingless airplane after her followup, not just EX version. Also you can always wingless airplane after a rope throw even without assist at midscreen.


edit: Oh you're putting the F+HP in there. I don't screw with that, just go for the plane after a rope bounce or assist hit. I like saving meter for EX giant swing.

It's stuff like this that makes me regret playing before the have is out, I would have been happier without playing the first beta.

I will say ~as of right now~ Necalli and Rashid feel underpowered compared to the rest of the cast but it's so early at this point that there's probably some tech people haven't discovered yet. And, as everyone has said, shit's going to change a lot between now and March.

Am I wrong, or does it look like the LP system is more generous than the PP system? I'm hitting my ceiling around 3400 Lps, about 1k more than I had PPs in USF4.

Is everybody here (who have played more than 50 matches) above their SF4 PP level?

I'm ranked in the top 1000 but I often get wrecked by people rank 9000

Trying both extensively, I'll agree, especially for Necalli. Rashid's pokes are nothing to write home about (especially considering Karen's buttons), but playing him immediately after Necalli I felt like I was in heaven. Lots of pokeable gaps in Necalli's pressure too, although I'm sure there's some better blockstings that I don't know about. Finally, his V-Skill needs something. Faster, more blockstun or better recovery, something. They are crap compared to C-Viper's.

That being said, they have to do something about Rashid's overhead. It looks like you're in midair, but I've seen some low hitting pokes knock me out of it mid-air somehow. It makes no sense.

Luckily changed my TV settings and input lag went away.

Either way, Karin and Ryu seem to be the most fun for me to play as right now.

Everyone else, outside of Bison aren't that fun to me.

I think it's just random since I'm ranked 7k or so and got matched up with whoever is rank tenth.

Dude Rashid's buttons are better than Karin's.

I think they've been adding filters as the beta's been going on to see how they affect matchmaking. Early on I was getting nothing but foreigners.

It seems more that people haven't reached the point where things level off. I was in the top 1000 last night with something like 2100 LP and I woke up this morning at rank 2010.
