They could be anything when a name is missing and just numbers. Unplayable boss, bonus stage, challenge/trial/story mode vs screen.

So how long should I expect to wait for a match? I haven't had much time to play but so far I've had 0 matches since the beta launched. I've been sitting in training for about 15 minutes now.

The first phase I had no issues.

Right now it's taking me around 10 minutes, and I'm in the 4 digit ranks.

If you're a beginner, you should be matched in less than 5 minutes on average.

Did Capcom ever address the horrific faces of some characters in this game ?

I mean, artstyle, opinion, bla bla, but Vega's face is literally butt ugly, so having him entering with "witness my beauty" is ironic to say the least.

Also not a fan of Ken's charlie sheen face.

Cammy got retouched, make peace with the rest of the cast.

I know people say "it's a betaaaa" but things rarely change much months into release, and they are mostly testing for network connection and game balance.

Tried to run this on a PC at work, pretty low level and boy did it run like shit. Even on low settings. Gonna be a long wait till I get home :/

How does the guard action thing work?

I recorded Ken shoryukening me with a medium dp with a 0.3 response, yet it never triggers. (yeah, I set that slot in the guard recovery actions). It just says that it is trying to do the slot #1 but nothing happens.

Other shoryukens I recorded do trigger sometimes.

What's the deal.

anyone have a good idea how long mikas vskill buff holds?
if I attack with other moves then grabs does that cancel out the buff?

From what I can tell, R. Mika's buff lasts until:

- You get hit once.
- You perform any command grab or throw, whether it misses or lands.

Then it's gone. I don't know if it stacks.
 
Your a Ken main right? Have any tips or combos you can pass on to a scrub like myself?

Like Valle would say Rush That Shit Down, best anti air is your medium Dragon punch and your faint kick is a good tool to keep opponents guessing must be used accordingly and with the proper spacing if not you're getting big dmg.

It was always ironic IMO. One doesn't speak of beauty with fingernails looking like the talons of an eagle. He always thought he was beautiful, he still does. OK. Nobody ever confirmed it before, doubt anybody will be confirming it in the future. Whatever helps him sleep.

Is there a better point-blank confirm from a low for un-triggered Ken then low short-jab xx(super/HP DP)? Low forward into fireball is unsafe up close.

That 3s-style confirming, though.

Does the punch target combo > lp dp suffice?
 
I'm not really seeing how Necalli's normals are garbage. His jab and lk suck, but I feel like everything else is great. His cr.mk(?) I think is amazing.

That being said they did change his face.
But look at Vega. This is shameful.

But I've recorded shoryukens with even less delay (managed 0.1 a couple of times) and they still do nothing.

For some reason it started working. It shows the interruptability of shoryureppa in the middle, and it has shoryukened me after he blocked after my medium kick, even if I still fire the hadoken which I cancelled into the kick, which is worrying.

Also, if I do three crouched jabs, he answers with super....which is done with Kick.

I don't know if my input was sloppy and I pressed a kick or what the hell. (e: turned on key press, it shows I pressed both punch and kick, and entered diagonal down-forward, down, diag down-forward, forward + both mediums as input, and the computer takes it as super sometimes)

I think what's happening is that I make him block twice, and the computer reads this as a double fireball.
 
Vega looks alright when he isn't making a disturbed face which, I think, is the point.
He talks about beauty but has these long ass goblin nails and a very psychotic face. The juxtaposition is good. Now when Vega was revealed, he looked off.
 
Wow, I had no idea. Rashid actually rides his VT. Well, not properly, but if you jump to it it'll give him a boost. E.g if you activate and do 's.HK he'll go flying. Can activates just jump at the tornado if you need.

You can do the same with the Air Man tornadoes - took people a bit to find that.

Feels really good to land 3 straight command grabs in a row to end a round. Not a bad way to end a session. Fuck essays and work, I just wanna play this all weekend :(

Someone please help me.

I am trying the beta on my pc, but character portaits loads very slow, loading is very slow, and in game I feel like I am under water.. Actually a little better if I am in an online match.. Anyone know what this might be? I even lowered the graphics to under normal..

And I am pretty sure it's not my specs.. The laptop is pretty new and has these specs:

GTX 980M
16GB RAM
Intel Core i7-4710HQ CPU @ 2.50GHz

Is there any reason they took mapping V-skills/V-triggers to R3 or L3 out? Trying to activate V-trigger normally just doesn't work for me, all it ends up doing is causing my character to throw a punch or kick that opens me up to get the shit beaten out of me. It's literally cost me 2 games at this point and it's annoying the fuck out of me (And I am hitting both buttons at the exact same time).

R3 activation worked sooooo well, I don't understand why they would regress a simple option like that.

He looks really bad.

The human face has set proportions. Some could argue that cartoony characters don't need to respect them, and I can agree with that with some characters. We do know Vega's drawn artworks do fit said proportions, so the fact that the 3D model doesn't respect them is amateurish and makes him look off.
 
Ken Mains

Don't play like SF4 step kick is not safe, jabs and lk are not combo starters.

--Max range step kick us useful, don't abuse and use on wakeup sometimes.

C.mp links with b.mp and u can target combo after that into big damage, its his bnb

Standing MK target combo is a great whiff punish and max range combo starter.

MP Srk on wakeup and for AA

Use run as a combo extender after landing crush counters or a clean st.HP

Use lights to combo into light tatsu, u can juggle for good damage.

Ken needs to be in close, will lose to most characters pokes, get inside if sweep range and use mp b.mp lights low forward for pokes and frame traps. Make sure u space low forward fb right, can be punished easily.

Have fun, Ken can end a round with 2-3 combos, and can v-trigger into his super in like 10 different ways. He's a damage monster, but not noob friendly.

Haven't played at all except quick training mode when it went live early. Now Rashid, soon Karin. I got sick last night, up every day @ 5am, teaching all day. Really need my rest. But this is Street Fighter. This is life. Tonight, it's all Karin. Until I pass out.
