What's the word on the Rashid/Ken match up? I've been having no problem against the rest of the roster but those damn flowcharts are giving me some real trouble. I seem to get beat out on everything.

Loving Rashid though, and I've barely scratched the surface. Played against one today that shut me down more thoroughly then I thought possible. Very cool character.

Oh my god, that does sound incredible. Should have that unlocked soon.

Was playing just 3 minutes ago so I don't think so.

You can CH his DP when they land, I think, so maybe train for that. Don't forget Rashid's overhead for when they just sit there.

His diving eagle stuff is kinda meh, but it'll work if you can time them for fireballs.

Worst case, both should stay in neutral stance and have a dance off...

Past 2 days, plus the entirety of the first beta, PLUS about a week and a half of USF4 in between (excluding the 2 weeks straight I spent in training).

I haven't won a single match this beta. The amount I won in the first one is probably not even double digits. I have less than 5 rounds won this time around. My friend, who I convinced to preorder, hasn't touched a fighting game before I insisted he get into the beta. And he could kick my ass in SF4 with way less practice.

God damnit.

I'm redownloading this fucking beta.

If my scrub ass can do: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oFIA1IjKlM
You can win.

Dont give up man! I feel your pain, my W/L record today is 6:21. :O On the bright side, you will probably have a leg up on plenty of people when the full game comes out.

Wait, why aren't you playing Mika?!

Okay so is there anything safe on wake up for R Mika? Any time I play someone who can proper rush down, I keep getting pounded unless I block getting up. Also I cannot punish with her command throws for the life of me. I'm starting to perform decently though.

Generally speaking, good wake up attacks are not safe. A trade off for their invincibility.

Have you tried using V-reversals to get out of pressure?

Game runs well enough on my laptop. 720P at medium settings (except post processing and Anti Aliasing, had to keep those at low) at rock solid 60 FPS, even in the waterfall stage. Boosting res to even 768p causes the framerate drop unfortunately.

My main specs are:

CPU: Intel i7 3635-QM @2.4GHZ
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 8870M @ 725 MHz
RAM: 12 GB

So if you have something with parts in a similar range and wanted to know how it will run this might help.

And I found it strange how that even though Mika can combo into her super from normals she can't combo from her V-skill.

I've won one match out of about 20 now. I'm a person who gets easily frustrated with fighting games, and the attitude I'm trying to have is even if I lose, what did I learn? Like I just got my ass handed to me in an R Mika mirror match, but my opponent did some nifty stuff that I'm now trying to emulate. And when I get beaten by a person I think I should have won against, I ask myself what the fuck I did wrong.

Part of it is sticking with one character for a while, too, I think. I was bouncing around all the characters just trying them and I was getting nowhere, but I'm starting to get a rhythm with R Mika now.

It has armor properties and you can land a mic and combo afterwards I believe.

so every win is +50 fight money and every lost is +10 right

or is it higher when you are higher up in ranked?

really hope they will change that when final game comes out

Don't get in the corner against Mika Rip

This has happened to me twice now.. You really can't make any mistakes against her or the match will end real fast.

Rashid's corner pressure and obnoxious dive kicks are the problem for me. Doesn't help either that I'm using a pad instead of my stick too.

I honestly keep forgetting about V-reversals. The one time I did one it was on accident. I really need to get out of the habit of only using V gauge for V triggers. Same way I'm slowly teaching myself to use EX attacks instead of just saving for Critical Arts which is another unfortunate habit of mine.

I meant immediately after the mic drop. She does that whiff animation like if she tried cancelling into a spacial grab after a normal. Maybe if I land a normal after the mic drop it will combo.

Anyways my fav right now is Vega.

Is it just me or do character placement seem off in a match? Especially when you're standing over an opponent who's knocked down. Just looks weird.

Imagine how much characters are gonna cost with fight money lol. Gonna have to get good.

Prediction: They are gonna wait for 2 months after release to see how much fight money the average player accumulates in that timeframe. They will then release the first DLC character for a lot more than that amount of fight money, so 70-80% of the playerbase has to buy the character for real money. Top 10-20% players will have enough fight money to buy characters without paying real money.

Combined with tons of costumes and fight money unlockables no one will have enough fight money to buy everything without handing over some real hard cash.

How much do you think it will cost? At the rate I got the Kanzuki stage.. I think it will be around 10-15k per character.

They need to actually be able to make money from those characters, so it's definitely gonna take more than a day of grinding matches.

That's it. I give up. Deleted the beta client, and on Amazon about to cancel my preorder, even though I'm getting it at a discount price since the raised the price after I ordered. But FUCK it. Can't win a single game no matter what character I play, how many combos I learn, how patient I am, how little risks I take. No point in getting this if no matter how long I practice I won't get a single win.

I am ass at street fighter.

I thought you were going to complain about the game, i.e-matchmaking not working for you or some other technical issue. But this, just wow. Practice man, losing is simply another method of learning. Don't let it discourage you.

Can't wait for an alt, though...

I need an alt costume for her badly. I can't get over her clown getup; it's the worst part about her. Aside from that, I love everything about the character, extending to her personality.

"I'll totally make this look cool!"
"I'll kick your ass!"

Said with such conviction. It's just great.

Don't give up you got people that have been playing for decades, in my case since 92 on the genesis. But once you get the grasp of everything you'll be fine.
