How do you access this 3rd beta?

It uses the same SFV beta client the first two betas did. If you already have the client downloaded it should have updated automatically.

If you haven't participated in a beta yet, you can can get a code to download the beta by pre-ordering the game pretty much anywhere - if you're worried about commitment you can order on Amazon, get the code and then cancel, since Amazon doesn't charge credit cards until a product has shipped. Alternatively I know PC testers have been getting beta access passes to give away as Steam gifts so maybe ask a friend who is already in the PC beta.
 
Man, I didn't realize how dumb the maintenance down time was until now.

I guess it gives me time to go the gym and clean up my game room first.
 
What's the easiest keymapper for fightsticks not currently supported?

Joy2Key, probably. Just make sure to run it in administrator mode because sometimes programs don't recognize it otherwise.

Alternatively if you're using a PS3/4 stick there are drivers you can download to get games to recognize PS3 sticks as xinput (as in, a 360 controller). Just google it, there's a few.

is this for ps4? and is it live now?

also - does the ps3 arcade stick work for the game yet?

PS3 sticks still don't work on SFV PS4. Capcom's been nebulous as to whether or not the full release will support it, but USF4 did so I think there's a pretty strong possibility.
 
Laura might be basic, but lord have mercy the character is divine. Which is more than enough reason for me to learn her. =D

From Capcom's perspective, this is a do or die moment for getting the servers running as smooth as possible. The fact that the breaks are so long only shows how seriously they're taking this beta. I doubt they're trying to screw over some regions like certain posters seem to think.

I can't wait to find out if they fixed the bug where people could quickstand after her super.

As far as I can tell, the only hard knockdowns in this game come from CH sweeps.
 
whyyy didn't the TES+ release early?

i've been playing these betas with a pad and it's killin my vibe

I've been busy and haven't been able to keep up on the deets. Do we know when Sim is going to be playable? Or is he just going to be added at some point this weekend, most likely on Saturday?

Thanks, didn't feel like mapping shit at 2am this morning. Playing it on the 360 controller was one of the worst experiences of my life.
 
So what was Capcom's plan with these betas when the game is coming out in 2 months? the Netcode is subpar and going far to be even worse than 4. The combos are very basic and light normals are just shit and the only one who feels complete is R.Mika. I expected improvements but I'm seeing the same thing from the last beta but with new characters added.
 
Light normals aren't bad at all, they just have a different purpose than in 4. I don't think the netcode is bad either, tbh.
What did you expect? A completely new combo system from last beta to this one?
 
I'm sorry but these beta times are really stupid for Americans. How the hell do you have a 2 day beta and then put 10 hr maintenance in the middle of it on both days. I mean the beta started at 2 am and went down at 10 am, how the hell are we supposed to beta test with these hours? Definetly regret pre ordering for beta. Capcom dumb as hell for this imo.
 
Just some thoughts on Laura after sleeping:


- Her normals are pretty meh. c.mk is nice, but most of everything else is pretty lackluster. Don't think a single thing links either.

- V-trigger is nice in combos, but it is just another boring "powerup" mechanic that most of the cast has. I feel like they ran outta ideas for V-trigger not long after the first wave of characters.

- I'm not sold on her V-skill. Facing nobodies it doesn't do too bad, but I think anyone that has spent a good time on the game will just stuff both her dashes and her cartwheel. I wish it low profiled atleast.

- What the hell is the point of EX command grab? It's just the command grab with a dash before it, why give us that when we have V-skill? Isn't like it has armor or anything.

- Her projectile is where her strength will lie.

The dash backwards > forward felt pretty fast but yeah wheel kick looked too slow.
