go home and be a family man.

For those wondering about the stage differences, this was a rumor from last year that seems like it may be credible

- Time / Weather effects in stages
- Release date : 2016, before the end of the fiscal year.
- Unreal Engine 4
- The new mechanic is named V-Trigger : You can change your stance.
- 16 characters
- No Super Street Fighter 2X + EX (Updates kinda like League of Legends / Killer Instinct)
- The story mode will be way much better, they know they fucked up with sf4.
- The PC version is here mostly because they want to bring the game to Latin America, South Asia, Africa...

The UE4 mention was before Capcom said anything about which engine it was running on.

Where the webms at? I need webms! Webms of Genocide Cutters!
If SNK ain't gonna give me OG Rugal in KoF 14, I'll gladaly settle for this :V

sum fucked up happened to the lighting and the colors in the game. do not want.

I prefer the old color scheme, too. Maybe the new one will grow on me, but that's how I feel right now.

The game itself looks incredible. One of my most anticipated next to Uncharted 4 and Final Fantasy XV.

So you confirm me i've read bullshit because the change in saturation gives hard contrast to the character from the background thus making the image the actual opposite of "softer", and the unreal and vibrant colors actually give more of a cel shaded effect than before.

The light, even as it hits the characters, results in a soft glow. It makes them look more clay-like than the harsh, outlined SF4 characters. I'm not talking about the resolution. And the lighting smooths out the shadow contrasts, resulting in a look that is less cel-shaded and more like what you'd expect if you shone a light on clay, or a smooth surface, unlike the flatter lighting of SF4.

I love that the story of the game is being brought into the design. Monster Charlie is explicitly derived from the storyline, which is awesome. It's probably going to be nonsense again, but at the least tone and approach they're taking is very interesting so far--it's dark and serious and the stakes seem high, monster Charlie really showcases that.

Totally unrelated, but who wants to take bets on whether or not Ono tries to shoehorn freaking Ingrid in again

I'm shocked he didn't do it in 4

Didn't that only happen like once or twice a long time ago? I feel like I'm fairly in the know with Street Fighter after 4, and I have no idea who Ingrid is haha.

Fucking SICK, Charlie's my fav character in SF and I'm so glad he's back. I liked that they changed his moveset and gave him something fresh.

Not too into his looks but you know Capcoms gonna come out with 18 different costumes for each character...there's bound to be something I'll like right?

I'm spoiled by Mkx. I really hope they talk to each other before they fight. Not say stuff like "the answer lies in the heart of battle."

... what ? Capcom already made characters with multi-fireballs and left/right quick mixups.

This is old news for Capcom. There's really nothing inspired by KI here. Even promotion-wise, their trailers teased additional characters near the end.

Defensive! LoL. Sure they have such stuff (I play Sim a lot in SFIV for goodness sakes), but it's normally locked to more trickery (Instant Air Jumps, EX usage), where it looks more like a normal gameplan trick here, close to Fulgore's pacing.

It'd impress me more if SF takes view of the entire fighter scope, and is inspired by KI, MKX, even smaller titles like Yatagarasu or Chaos Code, rather than just saying "LoL, Capcom Just Capcom'n!" There's good ideas all around, and some companies have tried to take certain things further / in different directions than the main fighter series
"Seems like he's taking some inspiration from Fulgore with those multi-fireballs and left/right quick mixups."

Because Fulgore created multiple fireballs and teleport mixups.

LoL, yes, that'e exactly what I said! "Fulgore is the first to do this ever!" As I said above, the pacing and base utility of it remind me more of him.

What exactly is so inflammatory to say that a modern game might have inspiration on another? My favorite times with fighters have been those where SNK and Capcom were quickly taking "I CAN DO IT BETTER!" Jabs at each other with each new character released. It's fun, stealthy respectful, and it gets us more original character concepts in fighters than simply working within the confines of one series own bubble.

My feeling is that, if Charlie were a replacement for Guile, he wouldn't be this dissimilar.

We'll see.

Yup, maybe. My way of thinking is that Guile might be too vanilla for the other systems the game will introduce, so they needed a fancy replacement that still kept his spirit. Could go either way!

His patchwork Frankenstein stiches look kind of dumb to me. I hope Guile isn't in the base game otherwise it's just a wasted character slot.
Have we watched the same trailer? Or do you really think that Guile's moveset is going to be similar to what is being shown in it?

Well.. this game is gonna start with like 20 characters, but you can count on it growing to twice the size of that.
It ain't gonna start with that many. However many it ends up with, Blanka needs to be dead in this story. I wanna see his rotting corpse in the bg on one of the stages.

I think a middle between the two visual looks would be perfect.

Problem of the old color scheme is that they are difficult to differentiate from the background. The new one doesn't has that problem, but looks a lot more plastic-y and less.

They look more or less the same.

Anyway, this game has suffered an aesthetic change that I don't think is for the better.

Both of these images are beautfiful in their own way. That said, the image on the left is clearly from a build of the game with a more advanced lighting model. Whether or not it is more aesthetically pleasing is up to the viewer, I guess.

Seems like he's taking some inspiration from Fulgore with those multi-fireballs and left/right quick mixups. Not to mention the character trailer ending with a tease for the next reveal.

This is good! If the good of KI's recent direction rubs off on Street Fighter (as much as SF obviously rubbed off on KI), then that just means better fighters, promotion, trailers, and creativity for everyone!

I didn't look at him and think "Zombie" actually, this just seems like a more crappy version of Bison making a male killer doll. I'm fine with that.

GEN-SIDE CUTTA! I hope that reddish stage light doesn't cause Volcanic Rim style vision issues...

Ryu getting knocked into the train reminds me of Real Bout FF series. It's funny it takes so long for 3D Graphic fighters to start getting the personality that 2D ones had nearly 2 decades ago. But I'm quite happy to see it happening!

The beta access sounds great; is this Capcom's approach to a F2P-ish model? It'd be great if the Beta is something that can be built upon and updated while the wait for the full release happens. Enjoy PS4 peeps!

What if Charlie here actually replaces the expected Guile spot in this SF? That'd be quite interesting to see. He could still get in, but what if he's not in the first round of characters? I'd actually welcome the shake-up... SF is much too stagnant and safe with it's choices.

I'd say it's possible that Guile sits out for the first 6 months to a year, but he won't miss SF V. I just find it strange if they sit Guile, Ono has talked a lot about how Guile is a fan favorite, and Guile's entire story revolves around his Bromance with Charlie, so him being gone would just be odd.

His patchwork Frankenstein stiches look kind of dumb to me. I hope Guile isn't in the base game otherwise it's just a wasted character slot.

What the hell? Did you watch the Video? Charlie and Guile at this point are far different then Ryu/Ken and given Charlie's movement and moveset on display these two characters share very few common traits at this point if Guile plays like SF IV.

What makes it more advanced? That it's orange?

We know that they have a weather system inside every stage. You can load a stage and wind, light, time of day, fog, rain will be different each time.

This explains the background fog.

But can it explain the new lightning on the characters ?
