Street Fighter V patch releasing March 28th, Alex on the 30th, more info

I don't think anyone has mentioned it, but the daily challenges and extra battle model were never actually stated to be part of the March update. If you look at the original announcement, everything we're getting in the March Update is listed as "coming in March 2016" and daily targets/extra battle are listed as "coming soon after launch". I think people just assumed that it was a given they were part of the same update, but it seems pretty clear that the distinction in the original announcement was because they never expected to release them at the same time.

Im guessing alex will also be added to story mode and survival. Also hope that you dont have to finish all of a characters trials to get fight money.

they had unexpected issues with user name and the store is delayed. It will be up to use FM, but still delayed to actually purchase stuff. Daily challenges and battle mode probably give you FM as well, I doubt Capcom wants to release all the FM modes when we still don't have the option to spend real money yet.

I don't expect it to be down long though. April or May update will bring along something new

Awww baby, I gotta get that pink Ken...

Yes, this is what I want most. The colours unlockable through Survival for Ken aren't great (I'm using orange at the moment).

I'm looking forward to the combo trials: I really enjoyed them in Street Fighter IV. Hopefully they'll give enough Fight Money to get me that final trophy for obtaining one million fight money.

Eight player lobbies is definitely the biggest thing in the update, though. No idea why those weren't in at launch. Time to get the ol' gang back together!

Mika's japan color is pretty legit.

I need white ken but am struggling in hard survival at the mo (reaching late 30s)

Those Japanese e-capcom colors are some of the better ones for each character. I hope they're available somehow. Are those the ones in the store?

I vaguely remember hearing that they would be available in the store.

Most likely they will be but it's yet unclear if the colors unlocked from survival mode will also be purchasable in the store.

Looking forward to the tutorials the most. I have taken a long break from the game so will be fun to try out the new stuff and Alex when he comes. Finally 8 player lobbies!

Finally, as a way of saying thanks for everyone’s patience and understanding throughout the beta phases and game launch we will be making Ryu and Chun-Li’s story mode costumes available for free to all users on March 30 as well. This is an 80,000 Fight Money value, almost the full value of a DLC character.

This really speaks to how ludicrously Capcom seems to be pricing costumes for this game.

Have you seen how much new costumes in LoL or Dota 2 cost? Honestly, Capcom is leaving a lot of money on the table there with both the quantity of DLC costumes involved and their price.

And Valve don't even have to make a lot of those costumes since members from the community can make costumes, get them sold in the official store for a percentage of the overall money made by it.
how much do they cost?
EDIT: Talking about Dota 2 here.

Well it depends. There are varying degrees of quality for the costumes. The highest quality,Arcana, changes the look sound and effects of the hero entirely. In terms of development, it's a lot like making a new hero. That costs 35$

For other less expensive sets, Valve usually put them in bundles. You buy the bundle, open it and get any random set that's included in the bundle. You don't get repeats if you open more than one unless you already own all the sets in that bundle. Those can cost anywhere between 2$ to 5$ or even more, depending on the quality and rarity of the bundle in question.

But Dota 2 also has the advantage of being a purely f2p game where no game-affecting content is locked behind money or in-game grinding. Same can't be said for this game.

Last time I played they were like $10-$25? mattering on the quality of the skin. Cheaper ones were just new skins, more expensives one had new particle effects and/or voice pack.

edit: LoL

Man, SFV having costumes that actually changed what the character said accordingly would be great.

I have a nagging suspicion that's what Premium costumes might do.

They can't change the animations because it affects game balance but changing the sound and look of the characters is something they can definitely do.

I don't think they'd change any of the sound cues associated with attack moves but there's no reason not to mess with voiceover outside of battle.

I don't think the costumes will be anything other than costumes, and no audio changes because that requires recording sessions for voice actors.

"value"

One thing that is cool about the colors/costumes, is that it isn't easy to get, so flaunting a color you know is rare is another sense of accomplishment.

Hell mode really needs adjustments though, even with my main, it's super tough. They just need a continuous option that costs like a ton of points so you can only use it once and If you manage your score.

But losing at level 70 or 80, it's too discouraging to ever try again. At least for me. Maybe ill take a crack at some of the hard ones though. Only did Ken and Ryu so fa, I'd imagine Nash and Rashid should be doable.

They should reserve the accomplishment to titles, not colors. Stuff like "I hate myself" and "I beat hard with Laura and all I got was this shitty title"

Yes. Colors should be easy to obtain, and just be a style preference. Use titles for bragging rights.

Well they can change the animations , as long it still matches the hitbox.

For example lets say there was a old-man Ryu skin , where hes something akin to Gouken. If his Hadoken animation is changed to one hand instead of two , would it really matter? As long as it still matched the hitbox/hurtbox.

Cinematic supers can also have completely redone Animations , as long as they last for the same amount of time and put the player in the same position.

Would Capcom put so much effort? I doubt it. Though I would gladly pay a premium price for these kind of skins.

Alex being free as part of a trial is cool and all

but

Capcom continues to pretend like they didn't also promise us weekly/daily challenges and acts like they no longer exist, which is pretty much the only hope for earning enough FM to actually get all of the DLC characters without paying additional, real money. Also a promise they were very insistent on keeping.
