That boy is a prophet, and must be silenced for all that is good.

Although I love me some zombies. That Zombie Survival Guide will not be for naught!

When I was growing up I made a comic book featuring some of my classmates, and one would constantly get killed. Did I want to kill him? No it was just funny.

And his GRANDPARENTS turned him in? Jesus.

I just can't believe people can be arrested for things they write in their own journal.

That is fucking crazy.

ANYTHING TO STOP A POTENTIAL TERRORIST.

Not to use the "There are people out there with chainsaws and you're arresting me?" defense, but.... a short story? That is what terrifies people now?

"Investigators say they discovered materials at Poole's home that outline possible acts of violence aimed at students" - Yeah, it was probably the kid's X-box.

I can't believe they might actually put him in jail because of this. True, I haven't read what it said in his journal, but...why were his grandparents reading it? And why did they turn him in, rather than talking to him about it? Honestly, there's so much stupid going on here I don't know where to start.

This is unbelievable. I know people are freaked out about violence in schools, but I don't see how a zombie story=he wants to kill half the students at his school.

Use your fucking common sense people!

It's obvious what happened here.

The people in the town are actually all zombies, and the kid stumbled upon their horrible secret.

Go to hell.

Really though, how does this not infringe of free speech. Is "feeling threatened" the open door to get someone arrested?

There's been a lot of these type threads in th last few days, and all school realted. I hope such idiocy hasn't spread to the workplace as well.

Well, lets look at the quality of education offered at this place first:

"It didn't mention nobody who lives in Clark County, didn't mention (George Rogers Clark High School), didn't mention no principal or cops, nothing,"
said Poole.

He is being charged with a FELONY for writing a short story without real names and involving ZOMBIES. Whats with some people?

He got turned in BY HIS GRANDPARENTS? What the HELL?

Milk and cookies from grandma -- thanks grandma.
Old stories of life when granny and grandad were growing up -- very educational.
Being turned in by your grandparents -- not cool. :lol

I don't mean to alarm you but you have dogs on your face
This really does reinforce my belief that a massive wave of stupidity is sweeping the nation. This country is getting dumber and dumber by the month, and every week, from zero tolerance retardation like this to that piece of shit of an old lady who's suing those girls over giving her cookies, I see more and more stories about people who deserve to have the shit beaten out of them. GOD BLESS AMERICA.

Makes me feel even better about deciding to move to Japan for good

If this was me under arrest right now i would have a lawsuit claiming that the police infringed on my right to free speech. He wasn't disseminating threats, he wrote them in his journal and in story form with no one specifically mentioned. Second they are holding this as a felony!?!?! That is freaking ridiculous. If he doesn't sue the pants off that police force he is doing his forefathers a grave injustice. This is one instance where a suit is fitting as it is protecting a constitutional right.

funny I was talking about his exact thing with some of my older students today! It would be the first lawsuit in a long that actually would be justice instead of money hunting

This kid must have had issues long before he wrote the story for his own grandparents to turn him in.

I'm not going to make assumptions because I know how the media likes to spin things. If it happened how it's written (and I've heard of other things like this recently), though......God help us.

"My story is based on fiction," said Poole, who faces a second-degree felony terrorist threatening charge. "It's a fake story. I made it up. I've been working on one of my short stories, (and) the short story they found was about zombies. Yes, it did say a high school. It was about a high school over ran by zombies."

Even so, police say the nature of the story makes it a felony.

That's total bull... since when does the nature of a story make it illegal?! Especially a felony... I guess the govenment shuold start sniping people reading Tom Clancy novels becasue they're all handbooks for terrorism.

Even so, police say the nature of the story makes it a felony. "Anytime you make any threat or possess matter involving a school or function it's a felony in the state of Kentucky," said Winchester Police detective Steven Caudill.

.......
..what?

Also, ACLU where are you!!!!! (looks towards the heavens)

Holy crap, i allways think i'll get used to seeing these stories but i never do. Screwed up, twisted legal crap and whatnot, almost allways in America. Talk about a perversion of justice. Havn't the police got anything better to do like stopping murders or something.

"My story is based on fiction," said Poole, who faces a second-degree felony terrorist threatening charge.
This alone, if accurate, makes the story appalling regardless of any other context or background. He's being charged as a terrorist? Terrorism truly is being used as a petty excuse to subvert basic civil liberties in more ways than just guantanimo.

Ah well, now it can be said zombies helped the terrorists win.

Poole disputes that he was threatening anyone.
Poole told LEX 18 that the whole incident is a big misunderstanding. He claims that what his grandparents found in his journal and turned into [sic] police was a short story he wrote for English class.
"It didn't mention nobody who lives in Clark County, didn't mention (George Rogers Clark High School), didn't mention no principal or cops, nothing,"

damn....this system is royally fucked up
