A CG movie like this is probably using ray tracing like crazy, right?

Raytracing has been in movies for more than a decade nice that gamers now start to appreciate it, lighting / polygon count and textures are the base for realistic imagery. But some are still in denial that it’s a unnecessary effect in games

It'll be interesting how the 3rd one does. I bet this one will be a hit but then I think it's going to lose its charm awfully fast.

They are already bringing the villian from the first movie back who clearly died. Plus I thought it took a really long time for humans to travel to pandora; I thought that was a major plot point of the first movie

The plot of Avatar is dreadful, and easily his worst movie in that respect. The film was a huge success due to the technology, not the story or characters.

The sequel wont just be able to ride on its visuals.

I’m know he didn’t personally create those renders but I know he is an artist so would have given sketches and talked in depth. Also he would have probably had insane Input p, control and vision. Yeah. He is an ego maniac But the results speak for themselves.

I am really looking forward to watching this.

Anyway, my wife and MIL really want to see this new one because they went to Avatar land or whatever in Florida, but neither saw the first one, so I’m being both forced to watch the first one with them and being dragged to this one.

James Cameron gave us The Terminator and The Abyss though so I’ll let him off easy.
