Say if I have a photo that is 8x10 inches wide, but I think I feel kinda stupid when it comes to reading measurements on a frame.
If a picture frame is 8x10, does that mean the whole entire frame is the same size as the photo, or is that measuring the inside part of the frame?

It should be stating what size photo it frames, so a 10x8 frame will usually have a aperture just under 10x8.
 
Is there a cultural/psychological explanation for why men having a lot of clothing on their lower bodies and no/little clothing on their upper bodies is considered attractive, but the opposite is considered funny? Maybe because usually muscles on the upper body are more visible? Or because not having pants on exposes their crown jewels, making them vulnerable?

I got Juniored, most likely mods and some here did not like the threads I made, anyway serious question without mocking, how do I "earn" my "Member" status back?


Is there a proper format to this like the new members (juniors) becoming members after 300 posts etc. or it's totally up to the mods to decide when etc?/

There is no format, it's up to mods. People have got their member status back after giving up their shitposting ways, dunno if it was ever unprompted though.

okay thanks, I kinda wish I got a PM from a mod or something explaining how and/or when I can get my member status back, I mean even when you get banned, at least they tell you exact date you get unbanned.

Anybody have any experience in watching pre-made 3D movies on a Nintendo 3DS??

I use a Mac. Any converters out there?
 
So about a year ago, an object went inside my laptop and messed up my fan. I was able to remove it but the fan would no longer work. Now today, the fan just started up again with it's normal RPM. Should I be concerned?

Edit: I also ran Diagnostics and it said it was good.

In The Fellowship of the Ring there is a scene where Elrond tells Isildur to toss the ring in Mount Doom but he doesn't. Is that scene removed in the Extended Edition or something? I just started it but didn't see it.

IIRC, that scene is not in the prologue but occurs as a flashback later in the movie.
 
I cooked a steak on my stove last night. Things went decently except the stainless steel pan I used has some black burn marks that won't come off despite copious soaking and scrubbing. What should I try to clean this?

Thailand is very cheap, and as a huge city, there is a seemingly endless amount of things to see and do. That having been said, my wife and I went to Thailand for a couple weeks and the time we spent in Bangkok was by far the least enjoyable. Before we went, I was talking to some people on Couchsurfing who lived over there for travel tips. One guy said, "A day and a half in Bangkok is a day too long." Good advice for me, but YMMV.
 
How come when saying like Chinese or Korean names in English, we keep the family name given name order, but when it comes to Japanese names, we reverse it to Western order?

They used to run really dirty and couldn't pass EPA emission tests, so they were limited to use in large trucks. Now they're much cleaner but that's still a stigma that hangs over them. It's also because they're outside of most peoples comfort zone- not all gas stations sell diesel, not all shops know how to work on diesel engines, etc. It's just more difficult for them to get a foothold after being largely ignored for so long.
 
I used my email address from my internet provider to sign up here, as required by the terms of service. But I don't use that email account very often. Can I now change my address in my profile to a different address (from a free provider - one not allowed to sign up with) ?
 
The free space on my hard drive keeps fluctuating between 22 and 30GB. Any idea what could be causing this? In running Windows 8.1 if that makes any difference

Windows 8 keeps an image of your last session on the HDD so it can boot fast. That will require quite a few GB.

I have 6GB of ram so I guess that would account for the difference? What would make it disappear though? Having to clean my fridge too often during these Steam sales!
