Anybody know why I have two different Google layouts on different computers? I'd like them to be the same.

This one has a bar along the top.

This has it down the left hand side.

Thats how it is for me between my home and work computers. My home is Firefox (looks like the top screen) and work is IE8. I don't know if thats the difference or not for sure but could be.

Probably part of a gradual rollout, randomly (I think) going onto the site will give you a cookie that tells Google to give you the new look, tied to the individual browser, not to account or computer.

Similar happened when Youtube changed a couple of months ago. Eventually everyone will get the new layout over the next couple of weeks probably.

Does anybody know a way to clean printer nozzles? My Epson uses cartridges that only feed ink, and the nozzles are built in to the printer it's self. It sat for a long time with out a black cartridge in the printer so the part b/t the nozzle and the ink cartridge dried out.

I like the printer, and don't want to replace it yet.

Thanks!

American hears strange noises

I don't think this can be viral, as it's too real to be acted, and the rabbit and dog look genuinely frightened. The bible talks about Satans trumpet summoning the angels of death.........

So why hasn't this been more widely reported?

If it's unclear where the noises are coming from, then it's just an audio phenomenon. There are a couple of them, most of them restricted to oceans.

And the noise got some reports, but what is there to say? All you can do is ask questions. Scientists are looking into it, it seems, but apparently, they also only have YT videos at this point; you can't tell direction or loudness from those. So it's hard to figure this one out. Even with crystal-clear recordings, it's hard to tell.

So, in essence, not much to report! (Probably a hoax tho)

Need some help using my newly registered domain name. I'm new to all this shit so I hope you guys can help.

How do I redirect visits to "www.mydomain.com" to "mydomain.com" ?

Currently, my domain cpanel only allows me to redirect visits to "mydomain.com" and not to "www.mydomain.com"

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I heard a clip of a comedian on the radio this morning and I can't remember his name. He had a British accent and his routine went something like this:

"So what they do is find an old man to talk about these things that are bad for kids. "Back in my day, we didn't have television or fizzy drinks." Well, back in your day, you had things like...scurvy. Back in your day, you had 'The War'. What's worse for kids today than what you had, Dungeons And Dragons or actual Dungeons...or Dragons?"

Sound familiar?

Why do English people respond to "I love you" with "Me too"?

It sounds so weird, like "Yeah, I love myself too."
It's just a mistake. Like when the person behind the ticket counter at a theater says "Enjoy the movie!" and you blurt out, "you too!"

Usually would saying something like " love you too"

But I've seen it several times in movies and shows too. For instance, just saw it on Supernatural (episode 20 season 2).

We don't.

Or perhaps they are just fans of Winnie the Pooh.

Christopher Robin: "Oh Pooh, I do so love you!"
Pooh: "So do I."

Fiction and real life are not always congruent :P.

Probably from male characters that aren't the type to go around saying "I love you" all the time. Maybe?

Yes us English gentlemen are all terribly uptight and repressed, don't you know!

Seriously though, I can't say I have ever noticed this tendency in verbiage but I will certainly keep my ears open for it now :).

However although us English chaps are not prone to public demonstrations of affection and one should always be wary of generalising to the point of it becoming a stereotype, what does it matter if this is the case? At least the response is an affirmative which is far preferable to silence.

Lastly, I am an English chap and whilst old fashioned in many ways, I am always telling people I love them, even people I don't really know. So we're not all repressed and emotionally uptight :P.

So I heard of this "mailbox" you can rent at the Seattle border or close by, so that I can buy things online and have them shipped to an US address. I live in Vancouver, and I wouldn't mind driving down there every month or so to pick up the shipped things.

Anyone know what this service is called? And more info about it

Thanks in advance

So I was going to class this morning and since it was raining, I took an umbrella. By the time I got off the subway the rain had become wet snow and it got me wondering. Why don't people use umbrellas when it's snowing? It requires a little bit more maintenance to get rid of the snow every so often but it's so much better than walking indoors with a soon to be soggy coat.

Snow is whimsical then wet. Rain is always wet.

Going to put in a movie in a bit but I can't decide which one, anyone want to give me some opinions? I have narrowed it down to three: The Usual Suspects, Shutter Island, and Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

In what kind of mood are you? Lock, Stock is more an action/comedy while TUS and SI are both quite serious. They're all solid movies but I prefer TUS over SI. However, if you want to have a laugh: watch Lock, Stock. If you liked Lock, Stock then please watch Snatch as well. It's even better.

I own both as well as RocknRolla, but I was leaning toward TUS as well.

I'm trying to decide w/c of this two companies offer the best service:

Virgin Media or Sky Broadband?
I don't know where you are, I know Sky's own service is better on the mainland. I'm in NI and when we had Sky it was horrendous, the 10MB was capped between 4pm and 12AM. It was just grim. On the other hand we now have 30MB Virgin. Today I DL'd about 15GB of stuff super fast, I DL a lot and never have problems. Virgin are also doubling all their customers speeds at no extra cost over the next 18 months. Should be July in my area, so 60MB here I come.

Sky's TV service is better than Virgin IMO, but only marginally, not enough to make me pay more having a separate package for the Sky TV and Virgin internet.
