EACH TIME :@ !!!!

I tried to contact Hotmail support but I failed.. and this is not even in their samples questions !

So I'm finally getting around to doing my taxes, and I go to look at my W2 and notice that my boxes 15 through 20 are apparently split into two rows, each with a different locality. Am I just supposed to add the two rows up for each box?

Are the full names of characters in published works (whether they are major, minor or somewhere in between in popularity) copyrighted? Now obviously I don't think anyone would use the name "Harry Potter" without causing confusion or uproar, but you get what I'm saying?

Ok this is a pretty random question. But say you have a pair of glasses with a broken frame, but the lens are still ok. Is it possible to go to eyemasters or something and have your lenses transferred from your old broken frame to a new one? (granted it would have to be the same model.) Or is there any service similar to this where you can do that?

Go back to the shop where you got your glasses. If they are worth their salt they should be able to switch out the frame within 5 minutes provided that they got it in stock.

Yes but if it is a different supplier they will probably refuse as they will want to sell you new lenses as that is where they really make their money.

Or you could just rock the specs as is and be eccentric like me! :)

I think they might count as trademarks? Not really sure, though.

I'm on the hunt for a certain products instruction manual. Could someone help me find the instruction Manual for the YES! Gear FM rocker? This is part of YES! Gears "power penz" line of pens. I'd be really thankful if someone could find that. It would mean the world to me.

It depends on the broken frame and the replacement. Same frame model? No problem.

Anyone know how to fix my iTunes search bar graphic? It's been this way for several versions:

http://gyazo.com/35a4e14502ad9e50e93cf453d8a70cc5.png

iTunes gets screwed up depending on the custom text size you use in Windows. It'll only look normal if you have the text size at "100%". Not sure why, it doesn't seem to affect other programs. If you want to change the text size, right click on the desktop, choose "Screen resolution", then click "Make text and other items larger or smaller".

Is it true that in Texas (and the south in general) that homes and apartments are incredibly cheap? I live in NYC and it's basically 1,000-1500 a month or up for a small 1 bedroom depending on the location. I thought this was normal for the country in general but a friend of mine lives in Texas and he said he's paying 600$ rent right now for a 2 bedroom home. It fucking blew my mind and he showed me websites with listings to prove it but I still can't believe it, I'm having trouble grasping it.

Is this real? If so how the fuck can people in the south complain about anything? Do they make less money there? I'd likely make the same there as I am here because I don't have a degree at the moment so I could theoretically move there for a while, have way more free time to myself and save money on the side. Then move back to NYC when I'm better settled financially. Are the low rent costs real?

It all depends on the local area, it's not a north/south divide. In smaller towns in any state the rent and cost of housing are generally much lower than they are in local metropolitan areas. For instance in Austin, while the cost of housing is much lower than NYC's, a house or apartment here will be more expensive than it would be in the rural areas which surround Austin. You'd be lucky to find a 1 BR apartment in the city for less than 650 here, and the cost of a house I think is fairly high. But you also have to keep in mind that salaries are generally higher on average in urban areas than rural/suburban areas.

On craigslist I see some outrageous stuff though like these:

http://www.padmapper.com/show.php?type=0&id=106398269&src=main

Just as examples. 300$ for a room. That's less than half of a room in Manhattan which is 700-800$ sharing a house with other people. Then the 1 bedroom large place for less than what I'm currently paying (which is just 1 room studio apartment). The only downside I'm imagining is the separation from house to house and the fact that it's dramatically different from the urban lifestyle I'm used to where you can hop on a train and go across the city to a completely different area and so on. I imagine you need a car/bike in these rural areas.

It's blowing my mind. I'm thinking it's too good to be true but my friend tells me these kind of prices are real. Thoughts? Granted these offers may be taken already obviously since they're 1+ month old but the fact that they existed in the first place at those prices is crazy to me.

Cost of living.

Different areas have different costs of living. Generally, when cost of living is higher, salaries are also higher.

So yes, they make less money there.

Cost of living relative to salaries also vary though. There are some places where you get more for your income than others.

Heres one for you...

Someone actually asked if you install a 32-bit version of Win 7 twice would you get the 64-bit version and be able to use the extra 4Gb of RAM (he had a total of 8).

Now I know this cannot be done, as do may others, but how much fun could you have with it?

Yep. These are not outrageous deals.

Also, these are not rural. Rural areas are out in the country with very little as far as local resources go. These would be more like suburbs.

FWIW, I'm paying $695 for a 788 sq ft one bedroom on the outskirts of Austin. I could have gotten at least a two bedroom for that much if I had gone for an older neighborhood somewhere more central, but I wanted something nicer in a low-crime area. I'm eyeing a neighborhood (still on the outskirts) where the average house is 2600 sq ft at $275k.

Killeen's a real shit hole though, you couldn't pay a sane person to live there.

Where can you get a 2 BR in central Austin for $700?

What's wrong with it?

It's a town that grew out of an army base (used to be a big issue with prostitution there), the people are boorish and provincial, nothing to do but churches, shoot at cars or impregnate a teenage girl and live the rest of your live stocking shelves at HEB. Honestly it's just one of a thousand backwater Texas cities, nothing special about it.

Well, I said more central. North of 183, east of MoPac for the most part. Parts of Lamar in particular as well as Rundberg (though I'd never live there again). Spicewood Springs isn't too expensive either.

I'm gonna ask this here because anywhere else and I'll get lynched to death. Why are Timedog and blame space made famous? I haven't noticed how blame space posts, but Timedog's posts are usually off-topic and derailing, basically... I think he's a crappy poster in general. Do they know Evilore in real life, or something?

I have a question about Amazon Prime: I order a fair amount of stuff from Amazon and they just offered me a free month of Prime so I signed up for it. I've always been in the habit of waiting until I have 3 or 4 things I want before I place an order just to minimize the shipping charges, but with Prime is there any reason not to order items one by one as they interest me?

I mean, it almost feels like I'm taking advantage of them (lol) but I guess they'd be taking advantage of my impulse buying.

For me Prime is totally worth it because you can shop at Amazon for little things that they often have cheaper without having to somehow build up an order that gets you to 25 dollars for the Super Saver Shipping. And since you get everything super quickly you can even start using them for everyday things that you realize you need.

I haven't subscribed to any because I just look at my posting history, which has stopped updating since 21st.

After replying to you initially I saw someone mention in another thread that this is going on for everyone. For whatever reason search isn't returning any results from after the 21st.

edit: Nevermind, you answered my question, I'm having trouble reading today. :/

You should really use the automatic subscription feature. It's the easiest and most lightweight way of keeping up with threads you've posted in. The search has always been sort of on the brink of failing around here. I mean, it's been deactivated for a significant amount of time since you've joined because it tends to kill the servers.

Can anyone tell me how to get Spybot Search and Destroy to detect spyware again through Firefox v11.

Ever since I started using this version of Firefox it seems Spybot doesn't detect any Spyware. It's up to date and I've ran the scan about 4 times since then and not one time has it's detected a single bit of spyware which is extremely strange.

All of the Tin Tin movie is computer generated? Asking because the ocean water looks real, i didn't have the time to pay much attention to that scene to be sure but it looked really impressive.

Any site that specializes in the technical aspects of cg in movies?

Thanks for reading, hope someone can answer.

I recall there being a thread listing freeware for things like video editing software, but haven't been able to find it through google or neogaf search. Anyone have a link?

I have an HTC Thunderbolt with Verizon.

One of the reasons I bought the phone was due to the tethering capabilities and 4G speed. I bought it last spring, and when I used the "Hotspot" function, it worked flawlessly.

Then, over the Summer, they had an upgrade or two. Today I tried to use tethering, and low and behold, this popped up:

"If you would like to subscribe to Mobile Hotspot/Mobile Broadband Connect, Call..."

So I called (which lead me to Verizon customer service) and the receptionist tells me there's an additional $30 per month charge to use the feature.

My stupid question is not whether it's legal for them to charge for something which was already a given with my unlimited data plan a year ago... my question is, is this something that I can send a complaint to the better business bureau about?

Or because it was advertised as a function (and not necessarily free) am I SOL?

What are some good, famous sci-fi novels about Type III Civilizations (able to harness the power of a galaxy)? I briefly dreamed about one last night and it was cool.

Do modern chargers like ones for phones, handheld portables, etc. still actively use electricity even after the device is 100% charged? i.e. In a hypothetical world where electricity costs were extremely high, would I notice a difference in my bill where in one case I unplug the charger to my phone right after it reaches 100% charge versus in another case where I don't unplug the charger at all? This is all assuming that they aren't completely turned off (i.e. they would be in sleep/lock mode). My current line of thought is to yes if the device is sleeping and no if the device is completely off.

If they have an LED, you might as well switch them off at the wall or unplug them when not in use. You probably wouldn't notice in the short term, but globally a lot of wastage occurs due to incidental consumption of power with microwave clocks, LEDs on applicances and adaptors, etc.

Adaptors with no LED? Not certain, but I doubt that consume power just by being plugged in.

How do you put together a will and testament? I've heard it has to be official with stamp of approval bs and all that? Like you can't just write stuff on a piece of paper and sign it. Is this also how you would donate your body to medical science/organ donating upon death? How do you do that kind of stuff? I've heard you may have to pay for it which is kind of silly is there no way to do all of this without paying?

Your W&T should generally be written with a solicitor, but it's not a legal requirement. It must be signed in front of two witnesses not mentioned in the document though I believe, not unlike the marriage tradition.

Organ donating will depend wholly on where you are, some countries are opt-in, some opt-out.
