I think the last fucking thing I'd want to hear before dying is an irritating, continuous chant of BRACE BRACE BRACE, HEADS DOWN STAY DOWN. BRACE BRACE BRACE, HEADS DOWN STAY DOWN. I mean, is that really necessary?

Other than that, I had no idea there was any animosity or "controversy" towards this pilot. I thought he was universally lauded and celebrated over what he did, and considered a hero.

I mean...I think the FAA looked into it like they do all things aviation, and I'm sure they grilled him a bit but yeah, he was basically a hero. This is about as exciting as The Walk in terms of storytelling.

Bleh this just looks horrible to me. Boring and unnecessary and trumped up.

Anyone watched this?
It was good but the trailers were better but i expected that. No way it could live up to the action of those trailers. It was a pretty good crowd considering it was estimated to be a light night for the theater overall (I saw their estimate). I came away wanting to know how true to life was the interaction with the investigators, like was he and the co piolot the only ones to think of the detail that proved them right or was it exaggerated? If it is factual in that then thats sad on the investigators part to have such an oversight.

My wife and I saw it opening night (two Thursdays ago) and enjoyed it a whole lot. Eastwood's directorial style held our attention as it often does (including in Invictus, which had similarly methodical pacing at points and Hereafter, which was polarizing I think but we really dug it and the plane scenes in this movie reminded me of Eastwood's directing of the the natural disaster scene in that film). Hanks was excellent, as always, and the entire cast turned in very good performances. It was at times more gripping and at times more lower key biographical, and we found both aspects to be compelling.
