Now I hear a lot of shit about how whiny Haru is, but honestly I like his character. He's realistic. He's not stupidly brash or debonair, he's just a short little fat guy who has to put up with typical bullying stuff. I think he deals with it well all things considered.

Woah, I haven't really watched anime in years and randomly decided to check out both K-on and Death Note. Both were really amazing shows. K-On was really charming and the characters were so much fun, I need to watch the movie asap. Death Note was another fantastic ride, I never expected to actually like the show, I'm not usually big fan of any shows with demons etc. But the whole cat and mouse chase was great and the demon world stuff was mainly in the background and didn't overwhelm the show at any point. Not to mention I really liked the main character, you don't see many protagonist like him often.
I think I will start watching anime again, I don't even dare to wonder what I have missed these past years. Is there GAF's yearly top 10s or something like that? At the moment I would like something light hearted and fun to watch, just like K-On, something to watch from time to time when I have nothing else to do. I also would like show with good story arcs kinda like Death Note. I am going to check out Tsugumi Ohba's other show too. There was also some show about two brothers and space? There was thread about it here on GAF but can't remeber the shows name.

I can't believe it's actually called space brothers. I was going to google Space Brothers TV show but then I decided not to because it's never that easy. Edit. Some of my favorite anime shows are sport animes (H2,Slam Dunk,Hajime no Ippo,Touch,Cross Game). I will check out Chihayafuru.

Yeah I read the synopsis, I expect it to be kind of slice of life show set in manga industry. I'm also looking something similar to Death Note. I do like the slice of life shows but some times I need to watch something with gripping story. I will but your recommendations under surveilance. Thanks.
I don't mind that all, I remeber watching some show about mahjong many years ago, and it was mainly about the actual game without much distraction you usually see in shounen shows.
Thanks guys for all the recommendations already. I will hit the sack now since I gotta go work soonish, but I'll return tomorrow.

I haven't gotten to that part yet, but yeah, Cartman
turning into a wreck from losing his wings
makes perfect sense. The development of Cartman's self-worth is just an illusion -- he only values himself insofar as he is useful to Kuroyukihime, and
without his wings
he's useless and thus worthless.
Cartman's character and the downsides of wish-fulfillment are really surprisingly well done. It's too bad (for me at least) that it's mired in haremshit and pandering and doesn't do a good enough job acknowledging how utterly fucked in the head Kuroyukihime is.
I have heard it mentioned but when it comes to mech fiction I'm pretty selective. I like mechs that look like they come from BattleTech universe and less like Gundam mechs. So far I have really liked Votoms and Patlabor saga. Especially the second Patlabor movie was great, I did like the not so serious tv show too. I will give Geass a shot but I won't promise I like it. If I want to get into Gundam where should I start? I don't mind old animation at all so should I start from the original show? Or is it any good?
