For an early 90's OVA series, this is some pretty radical and forward-thinking stuff (for the time).

We have some items such as:
Sexuality as a whole
Gender Bias
Being in love with his bro's wife
Transgender-ism (The betting game at the start was hilarious)
Same-sex love

That stuff alone makes this show interesting. I did feel really disoriented after this episode because there is a lot of content in such a short amount of time. Hell, I couldn't even figure out
Shun's gender for a while, and even after the standing up peeing thing I still couldn't figure it out right away.
I was just all "Wut. Wut just happened?"

One of my favorites! Shun's awesome!

I really dislike that character design. It kinda combines a ton of elements which I dislike about female character designs in general, all into one character. Awful.

Sket Dance - 76

An episode on the new characters fitting in. It had its amusing moments. I like how they casually mentioned this was the second last episode.

Speaking of, with GinTama taking the timeslot in two weeks I wonder if they plan to switch back and forth between the two shows. Makes sense, six months GinTama followed by six months of Sket Dance then rinse and repeat. It's actually the perfect way to keep GinTama on the air with out becoming bogged down by excess filler like the other long running shounen.

But arent they showing reruns of old gintama episode not all new? Id personally prefer filler than reruns.

I so dont want it to end! :( First half was awesome for Katou development, and second half was so good, that understanding between Bossun and Switch was so great for the skit, especially when it came to the climax/resolution. Bossun looked really amazing in those upclose shots of him/face ones

Tired of all the sister anime out there? Say hello to Brothers Conflict!

The November issue of ASCII Media Works' Monthly Sylph magazine is announcing on Saturday that a television anime adaptation of Sylph's Brothers Conflict illustration and novel project has been green-lit. The original project centers around a girl who suddenly gets 11 brothers — from 32 years old down to 11 years old — when her father remarries. She joins the Asahina family under one roof at the Sunrise Residence complex.

The skit thing was my favorite moment. I liked the school bit, was funny especially the teacher. But the rest was dull. Needed way more Tsuwabaki and Momu
when he got a change of heart and rose to action, so awesome there, hopefully he gets her dirty again. Though I love his scarf most epic scarf since Alma Tandouji's in Sacred Seven

K-ON!! Episode 6

Flawless logic.

A fun little episode that was centred around the bad weather, as well as Yui's disconcerting devotion towards her guitar. But that was a good thing, because it meant that we were given lots of lovingly rendered shots of the actual instruments themselves, which do look pretty damn amazing. And to further the buyer's guide feel, we are provided with tips on how to properly maintain and care for our instrument (quiet, now).

Things happened here, guitars were named, songs were sang, and Sawako's gonna sawa.

This was a pretty good episode. The entire Death Noite gag was pretty funny and it certainly knew when to get all emotional. I'd expect nothing else from the director of Gintama really! I can't believe there's only one episode left. :(

clean momiji nooooooo ;_;

All very valid points (in particular, good animation from countries not named Japan is definitely a more worthwhile topic of discussion than waifus in SAO, IMNSHO) but maybe I'm just looking for another excuse to plug Hungarian animated wonder The Son of The White Mare.
You guys suck. I'm taking my ball and going home to movieGAF.
Sorry. That was pretty neat animation, I'd just watched that youtube clip recently and it was too perfect a reply not to use.
Spot on, Branduil! But now seriously, we all like animation in here and I don't know if there is enough audience to maintain an official thread about European-produced animation alone, so I think it would be cool posting from time to time some related information in here for everyone to see, like in a complete 'community' dedicated to animation in general, without restrictions. Nice... isn't it?

Oh you haven't seen Night on the Galactic Railroad yet? It's an interesting film and of the type I think you'll enjoy.
And talking about Mr. Sugii, I was looking forward to see his return with The Life of Guskō Budori at SITGES International Film Festival of Catalonia (http://sitgesfilmfestival.com/eng/film/?id=10002385), but also the tribute that the Anima't section of the festival was going to make dedicated to him, screening the recent documentary Animation Maestro Gisaburo (http://sitgesfilmfestival.com/eng/film/?id=10002357), another famous movie of him The Tale of Genji (http://sitgesfilmfestival.com/eng/film/?id=10002386) and, of course, Night On The Galactic Railroad (http://sitgesfilmfestival.com/eng/film/?id=10002387) as well. Unfortunately, I won't be able to go this year... perfect timing!

By the way... please, tell me if someone has seen translated impressions from the premiere of his latest movie. I haven't seen any yet!

Who is Eba and why would somebody ask her anything?

Although maybe you were joking with that question... in that case, sorry!

UltimaDrago, I didn't see your impressions of Gundam 08th MS Team. Post if you're okay! I miss you!

Well, this wasn't subtle at all. But I guess it's necessary.

Since we already solved the mystery last week (it was the butler, as usual), this episode didn't need to tell us what happened. And they're aware of that. They focus much more on the "why", which gets deeper into Giuse and Henrietta's relationship.

ibjvkjxbSvKAJV.png

There were a lot of things about this brief chase that I liked, but things like her impact on the wall sold the intensity of her pursuit.

This is probably the least we've seen of a handler in an episode about them since Rico met that kid in the hotel. Most of the interaction is between Elenora and Henrietta. Elenora is one of the few people we spend time with who works with a partner outside of Section 2. With Giuse otherwise occupied, we can finally see a little more of how Henrietta thinks. Elenora is also a kind of "cyborg" thanks to her "magical notebook", but because she isn't entirely dependent on her partner for emotional fulfillment, she's a much more stable person.

There are aspects of the end I don't like, particularly the way
the show goes back to show us exactly how things played out in the park even after it explained pretty thoroughly what occurred
, but there's still plenty of great bits of visual storytelling. The progression of Henrietta's expressions when she answers the door says a ton about how she feels about being "on vacation". And even just the way that
everyone is heavily drinking after Henrietta's reenactment of the killings
tells you everything you need to know about how the earlier spectacle impacted them.

Don't these clouds seem unusually green to you? Like they're actually palette-swapped bushes tree leaves?

I feel like the objectification stuff has to be intentional at this point. Giuse's words about Henrietta reveal some level of awareness of how fucked up this all is.

Seeing Fermi and Elenora made me curious about that bomb-making duo from Episode 6. With how those characters were presented earlier, I feel like they have to come back at some point.

You know, when Kimi to Boku and High School Boys came out and I was looking for all-boys animes and this was basically the only other one that I could find. Strangely enough, it was also popular to get a jdrama iirc.

One of my favourite parts of the season. lol
