Please, nothing about those bland New World character designs has anything on this:

There's nothing particularly expressive about those designs themselves, it's what the animators can make of it that will make them expressive or not.
'Master of the Sameface'
...and nipples
, Tony Taka! Bow to your lord...
.

I see absolutly no reason to put Chikashi Kubota above Tony Taka. Kubota is maybe a good animator but that's maybe his problem as character designer. The character designs are extremly simple and are super samefacey - even between the girls and the boys. It's maybe perfect for an animator but it looks just bad after all.
I think that at least lending themselves better to be animated is an advantage, and I like that it can be considered a trait of an animator with a good background; even if the characters result in being similar, they can be 'played with' more easily by the animator in question than static-ish character sheets more prone to be illustrations in a magazine than a demonstration of proportions and lively characteristics to be used as first-hand reference.

Once again, the bear is right. You should listen to this guy. He knows shit.

*brofist*

I was thinking how I would rank Hyouka and I realized that I couldn't personally give the show a high rating because despite the highs of the end, the entire show before the School Festival still exists.

Woah, when I went to quote this something disappeared. Totally couldn't figure out what though. It's almost like it was erased from existence.

Someone should just make an Irusu compilation from 1-11 (or rather the Film arc) of Hyouka on Youtube. It'd only be like 6 minutes long and save everyone a lot of time.

Sket Dance end

Good ending to a great show. Probably the least aggravating
confession
scenes I have seen.

I guess this is the longest thing I've watched from beginning to end since I joined animegaf. Sad to see it end like this. Hopefully it'll pull a Gintama and come back. Until then, anyone know what chapter of the manga this ended on?

Looks to be around chapter 158 I think. Going by episode descriptions.

Your character designs should still have some soul. This it's easier to animate explenation can I accept for the KyoAni in-house style but that's just one step away from the QUALITY Welcome to the NHK episodes.

Subete no aware
episode 8, bro. Also apparently some later episodes were good as well.
Episode 8 for the sheer wtf.

Episode 18 cause it was a really nicely done feels sad story.

Episode 19 cause it had the same director.

Episode 21 mostly cause it was different and was in a new setting.

Episode 23 wasn't bad, but I liked the documentary setting and making the setting interesting.

Of course, watching the whole series could have null and void my opinion.
Nothing sounds as impressive as Bowling for Columbine though. :(

Oda Nobuna no Yabou 11-12 (END):

Also, lest this issue escape my notice due to everything else that happened,
there wasn't a single speck of resolution regarding the time travel phenomenon in the finale. Does Protag-kun want to stay? Does he want to return? How does he feel about altering the past? All of the other sappy bullshit in the finale was totally expected, but to not even follow up on your show's single conceit is stupid.
What a terrible show.
Season 2 man. Season 2.

As expected, Crunchyroll maintains their Gintama simulcasting for the new season.
So they'll air the reruns as well as the new episodes? I guess we need 2chan to tell us when something new happens.

Hyouka does have a couple of episodes towards the beginning that can be watch that actually explain what Hyouka IS as well as some of Chitanda's backstory.

I don't think you guys get it. What I saw of Hyouka made me hate Hyouka.

I dropped it after the first really stupid episode, then came back to it 4 months later and skipped the crappy stuff. But your reaction is totally understandable, even if i've only partially experienced some of it myself.

Also what Trejo says is totally right.

I will do it for the scarecrow after I do it for boobs, Envelope.

Also what Trejo says is totally right.
No, he's not. The episodes that follow the Festival arc are great and the way it continues developing the characters and their relationships is really enjoyable to watch. Some of the best episodes in the show come out of the post-Festival stuff.

Oda Nobuna no Yabou 11-12 (END):

It was stupid and insulting to see
Nobuna doing just about the most rash thing she could--burn Japan's holiest site to the ground
Maybe I missed something, but while the topic of doing that certainly came up on the good guys' side, wasn't it the antagonists who set fire to it themselves to frame Nobuna?

Nobuna's tits half-exposed and flailing around during the final battle
I must give them thanks for providing me with several new desktop wallpapers
to go along with the bedridden-Hanbei ones
.

Maturity, bitches.
I don't even remember the episodes numbers for Hyouka. I enjoyed it as a whole. I don't really think about the individual components.

Episode 18 was fine but halfway through the episode, the first thing that came to mind was "maaaaan the people who only came for the festival arc will hate this".
