Hypocrisy part 2:
Alright so here's the final image:
I've also uploaded my progress steps for the artist types in the crowd, just in case they find this sort of thing interesting:
In the original sketch I've mistakenly drawn the same arm and leg in the foreground which gives the impression of a leap, rather than a sprint. In the second image, I change which leg is coming forward and work on the lines (I don't normally use this method but it's an anime drawing, so I want it to look like one). In the third image I start dropping in flat colors and shadows. I realize that some things look weird to me and that the hind leg is not matching in perspective. I fix the angle of the leg (fourth image), and tweak the positioning of the eyes to put more of her character back. I also move the arm a bit. This took away some of the dynamics, but it also made the pose more natural. Finally, I draw a shitty background, re-draw the shadows and place a soft filter over the image with a series of screen and overlay layers to give it more of a production look.
Also - Ultimadrago, I made an avatar for you (since you mentioned wanting one), but if it's not to your liking you can crop or rotate it however you want.
Anyways, I promise to stop spamming these drawings in here so often. I'm sure there are more than a few people who find this to be OT, or distracting.
To keep the rest of this post slightly on track, I started watching Usagi Drop and it's pretty awesome!!
