Oreimo Season 2 14-16

Well then, this was one of the most absolutely unpleasant things I have ever decided to watch. I don't know what the fuck I was thinking. I got hit with a waive of shit and garbage. I curse myself, that I decided to watch this piece of shit series all the way through. Fuck me, and fuck this show. I will never get back the time I wasted watching this pile of shit, fuck. Now I am just going to drown beer and play Dragon's Crown all night, praying I forget this pile of fuck and shit.

I know how this ends and I pretty much despise Kirino as a character and for her lack of being cute, but I still want to see how this trainwreck ends up for myself.

People should really know by now.
Always bet on the title.

Well, yeah.

School Days 9

Our episode begins where the previous one left off, with Katsura confronting Setsuna about her kissing Makoto while he's asleep. It's typical harem level bullshit that would be utterly harmless were it not for the fact that Katsura's already had way too much of this bullshit anyway, and this girl is just making things worse. Really, though, the scene is just missing the heavy accents, Antonio Banderas, an evil twin and a fake mustache to be something straight from a Tele Novella.

This episode's set up is basically the old Archie, Betty and Veronica special. That is to say, Archie (Makoto) is stuck choosing between one of a myriad of irate love interests to take to the magical bullshit every-fucking-school-in-Japan-has-one-all-your-wildest-dreams-come-true-social-event-thing. Because Makoto cannot say no when a girl flashes even the slightest leg or cleavage, he's got himself a three way tie. Of course, Makoto wishes he could pull things off the way Archie does.

The episode's humorous high-water mark, if you can call it that, is Saionji kneeing an excessively grabby Makoto in the groin (like legit, this guy lives for grabass). Since I've been suspecting since last episode that Saionji is actually pregnant with Makoto's kid, and that's why she didn't come to school the other day, I daresay that Makoto won't exactly be needing those parts anymore, anyway.

Of course the real climax of the episode comes when Makoto does, if you will pardon the pun. Otome's bitch squad has been hounding Katsura for episodes now about whether or not she's actually going out with Makoto, and now, while Otome fucks Makoto no more than twenty feet at most from Katsura, Otome's own bitches realize that they've pushed too far, and walk away from the girl.

This raises an interesting question, I think. If someone has cheated once, does that actually mean they're likely to cheat again? Or is this just something we tell ourselves? I mean, obviously it goes on a case by case basis, but it is still worth wondering if this episode doesn't portray things, I don't know, a bit too cliche? Note that I'm not saying it is inconsistent; it certainly fits with the character's established behaviors, only that I wonder if this is really a thing or not.

Whatever the case, once he's done fucking her, Makoto ditches Otome for Saionji, who he takes to the dance. Katsura, who'd already extracted this promise from him, is devastated to hear it from his friend's lips. The guy confesses his love to her, but she can hardly hear him.

The most terrifying part of it, though, is that Katsura does not react to his touch at all. The girl just stares and stares and stares. Makoto's done such a number on her emotions, and her understanding of physical contact and the phrase "I love you!" that she literally cannot react to it anymore. This poor kid has been through hell ever since she started dating Makoto, and none of it is her fault.

Understand, though, that I don't think that Katsura is perfect or without flaw, though. Her refusal to let go of Makoto, especially after it became painfully clear that he was cheating on her, is her true flaw. I could say it was her faith in the kindness of others, as that'd apply to her relationship with Sekai as well, however that's romanticizing things a bit much. Katsura is refusing to accept the truth, and her stubborn denial has most certainly played a pivotal, if tragic, role in landing her in this situation.

EDIT: Hitokage's quip about shaved ice reminds me:

Setsuna attends a play in this episode that serves a comparable, if not entirely similar purpose to the Shadow Play toward the end of Utena. All full of guilt and foreboding. Of course if Setsuna turns out to have bottled up emotions riding on this, too, there could be further comparisons. As this one was full of broken medieval English and a lot of phony flower symbolism, though, I will spare you further details.

I'm actually glad you cleared that up, because it was very poorly directed and only lightly hinted at that
they had sex at all, let alone rape, especially since she seemed to disregard him altogether.
So yeah, thanks for clearing that up.

School Days 10

So it turns out I was wrong all along about the Dark Lord Sauron. She isn't Sauron at all, so much as
she is the Homura to Sekai's Madoka. At the very least, Makoto fits a wonderful bill of Kyubey, and, alongside the Devil Gundam, joins another wonderful tier of depictions of the Devil in anime, conducting young ladies to their destruction as he grows more and more bold in what he is doing.

This episode has young Setsuna doing everything in her power to set to rights the demonic hellstorm that Makoto's penis has unleashed upon this school. She forces him to break up with Katsura, in no uncertain terms. And, while that seems pretty cruel and hurts Katsura a lot, possibly breaking what little of her there is left, it is also just about the kindest thing anyone has done for Katsura in the entire show.

And let's talk about that, shall we? How fucked up is this show, that the kindest thing someone does for this girl is to force her boyfriend to break up with her after she's been ostracized and raped? That's Casshern Sins level of fucked up, that's how much.

Anyway, Setsuna, for all her smart-girl actions, reaches a point of desperation in her attempts to save her friend from Kyubey, and so she strikes what is perhaps the worst deal any woman has made with the Devil in animation since Megara struck hers with Hades: "If you dump Otome and stay with only Sekai, I will let you do whatever you want with my body." The scene leaves it open, but there cannot be any argument at this point that Makoto is exactly the sort of guy who would take that deal without a second thought. The deal falls apart though, when you consider it for even a moment: Setsuna is leaving, and her aegis, such as it is, cannot shield Sekai for much longer. She's leaving basically NOW, at that, and she's doing it in such a way that Sekai is going to be upset and driven right into Makoto's hands. Meanwhile, what assurance, what insurance, does she have that Makoto would keep his deal? What reason does he have to keep it? With no one on the island and indeed, no one in that region of the world so much as aware of this deal's existence, he has no reason to keep it. He will simply turn and fuck Otome whilst keeping Sekai for as long as both girls keep pleasing him. Hell, he may well turn around, patch shit up with Katsura for a short while, till he gets to fuck her, and then dump her ass to the curb, too. The sky is literally the limit for him, as young women keep jumping one after another to get onto his dick.

However, Porem, da-ka-ra, Makoto's luck is cut short by a force he could never have reckoned with. As it turns out, no one can resist the fact that there is a student-run love hotel during the fair, and so the girl's basketball club has filmed and is now publicly displaying the footage of various young women performing sex acts on men of diverse ages for others to see. This breaks the poor short-haired taller girl I've seen as the only waifu of the show, but most importantly it is proof positive that Makoto Itou has been fucking women other than Sekai, bringing the circle of fury full tilt back onto Sekai.

And it is fucking glorious to behold, ladies and gentlemen. Never before have I been so pleased to see someone get what was coming to them. Never before have I so eagerly awaited and so fully applauded the complete and utter justice of such a scenario. Sekai's bullshit is a full third of the problem in this show, and has caused one woman so much pain, suffering and agony that seeing this miniature, cosmic Count of Monte Cristo delivering the most deliciously karmic of punishments upon her, that the man she cheated with should cheat on her, can only be described as the most apt punishment I've seen a villain receive in some time.

Ain't NO porn like revenge porn, let me tell you.

And speaking of vengeance! Don't think I missed that cutlery, people. Oh God did I see that lingering, caressing shot of those kitchen knives, and did I ever see that bag a rattlin' with metallic weight in the hands of a girl whose soul is so totally broken that a knife seems like the only way out. Although the context is entirely wrong, I cannot help but quote Shakespeare's Scottish play this one time. I recognize that the length of this post already must prove displeasing to some, but it bears citing at least a few lines here:

This is it, ladies and gentlemen. We're gearing up for the grand finale, and by God there is going to be a knifing. A knifing such as the world has never before scene. All you waifus better hide under your beds, for the pale maiden rides, and in her hand she bears the Knife of Vengeance, and no door unmarked by imouto's blood will go uncarved by her most furious hand.

Makoto might be Kyubey, and therefore the Devil, the Prince of Darkness and Lord of Hell, but Hell, well, Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

dude.....I want to see your reaction to Arjuna lol

OH MY GOD. I can't stop laughing. Who was it that said it? Jarmel? That this was one of the most cathartic moments in all of anime? Boy was he right! I'm just basking in this. Oh my GOD. It is 3:30 AM and I don't know what to say about this episode at all.

I don't lie yet people don't believe.

Oh! Edo Rocket - 01

...What the hell was happening in that first ten minutes? From wooden rockets, to fireworks, to UMAs fighting...
I love the diversity of style in the character design, I'm totally in, there's Norio Wakamoto in it...
and Eureka
? lol

Oreimo 16

This was painful as fuck.

Less painful since I said fuck the other 2 episodes, but good god, the dialogue makes me want to hurt myself.
Incest for the win! Not for this series

This series is behind me now, and sadly because of it, I can't really look at it again. Not even at Kuroneko figures. It just brings up terrible memories, along with the notion that Light Novels are generally shit. Stay creatively bankrupt.

Manami's voice is rather... soft for this episode.

Know what i did ? i stopped after ep 3 this season and i let go of the rest . i have my kuroneko figures and i'm fine with them i got my kuroneko ending in the psp game and i asked for nothing else .. heck the rest of the anime doesn't exist. in short : "i pulled out soon enough".

BTW : if you don't want your kuroneko figs i'll be happy to take them.

oreimo is one of those anime where the doujins have better endings than the source material.
At least the psp game handled the very same events MUCH better than what the LN and the anime did.

Stumbled upon the trailers for RWBY last night while looking for something else on Youtube. Then I watched the first episode.

Why oh why couldn't it be like the trailers?

OK this episode was pretty great. From
Ojamajo Dogemi to PonymajoDoremi and related scenes
to teacher jealousy and crafty policemen as well the return of nympho Pop.

Oh! Edo Rocket - 02

In which we with fireworks at hand, shall conquer the world of fireworks! HA HA HA HA!
Ginjiro raising a lot of questions and Akai Nishinosuke is pretty :DTL.
So Rie Kugimiya is the little brother with her Al voice.

Oreimo S2 14-16:
God damn. This was soooooo fucking bad. It has been long time since I have laughed so hysterically while watching anime. How in the hell we came to this? Not to mention that just as I had accepted thas this actually has an ending even though it's the worst possible ending author gives us last ultimate trolling
and decides that they will not be lovers after all and will go back to being normal siblings.
Just wtf.
You reject all those girls for love of your sister and then decide that yep lets just go back to normal life.
It makes fucking no sense.
If you are going to do incest ending at least go to fucking end with it then for gods sake.
I can really imagine the look on voice actors while they read the script of these final episodes: ''just for what did we sign for''.
Actually after I knew that Kyousuke wouldn't choose the best girl (ayase <3) or even someone non-kirino
I still kinda got enjoyement from this as it was so huge trainwreck but then that final twist even spoiled that. Fuck this show.

There's no two ways about this now, Makoto is using black magic. And not sexomancy, which is a pure and wonderful art I learned about while reading The Name of the Wind. No, no, no.

Hahahaha. Corvo, you're great. I can't wait to see your final episode reaction.

People are shocked about the ending of oreimo? Colour me shocked
Hopefully my .gif of Ron Swanson trashing a computer didn't give you that impression. I wasn't surprised by the developments, I was just disgusted.

The Earth is in dnager!!
And the last episode about the
former Queen
grandchildren, was a good one.
Instead of getting their answer with Baba, they go out of their way to meet Rovi-kun in...i have no idea in which country he lived, but they could speak japanese very well. He's a descendant of the last grandchild, the youngest Roy,
and the blood of the former Queen still flow through his family veins, making some people in the family awaken magic powers, beats me how they discover their incantation spell.
And now just the
former Queen
side of the story about
this tapestry
is left, but this is for the next episode.

If anything, it's the latter that's inspired by North Korea.

Even the name of the leader, "Masador Diego" / "マサドルディーゴ", appears to be a pun.
Take the Chinese characters for "Kim Jong-il": "金 正日".
The first character, "金", means "gold", and that English word would become "gôrudo" / "ゴールド" in Japanese.
The second character, "正", can be pronounced "masa" ("マサ") in Japanese.
The last character, "日", means "day", and that English word would become "dei" / "デイ" in Japanese.
ゴールド + マサ + デイ = マサドルディーゴ

Genshiken Nidaime - Thus far

This show is keeping me well entertained. It certainly has a different feel than the previous Genshiken, but that's okay. With so many eccentric introduced this season I actually find the "straight man" Yajima the most intriguing. It's a shame so much focus is on Hato, I wouldn't mind learning more of everyone else. To the credit of Hato, the character has progressed much quicker than I expected.
I was rather surprised how quickly and often he has appeared as a guy around the group.

Right .. that also explain the
control of the populace that will happen later
but then NGL was inspired by ???(it's been a while since i've read the manga so i'm lost )

The "gold" link seems a bit flimsy there. If it is intended as a pun, I'd guess that it's based on the fact that 金 also means "money", and ドル is the Japanese for "dollar".

EDIT: Oh no, wait, I see the "gold" link now, the whole name is an anagram. That does work nicely then. Togashi you so crazy sneaking real-world dictators into your shonen manga.

Some of these Oreimo impressions are hilarious lol. Some of them seem legit surprised.

The bad part is that they kinda make wanna watch the finale just to see the inevitable for myself. Ultimabro would know what to do. :(

I'd also like to congratulate Corvosol for yet another successful round of School Days impressions. These were certainly the most entertaining ones in a while.

The UK continues to show that they care more about Ghibli movies than the U.S. ever will, with the Porco Rosso Blu-ray announced for a mid-November release, a mere four months after Japan. (A product image for it was also spotted on Madman's site indicating an eventual AU release as well, though with no date yet.)

I don't actually have any figures, it just means I can't really... consider buying them. Can't even look at doujins either. But this was before the final 3 episodes. This was as soon as the LN spoilers came out back in June.

To be fair, the first season ultimately sets up for the PSP games, so it works I guess?

Well that's more down to Ghibli being near enough the only thing UK people will watch.

I think we shouldn't really acknowledge it at all, ideally.

If you haven't looked at light novel spoilers, then you could easily say that. Nevermind the episodes apparently still cut content in the final 3 episodes which dampens the blow to Kuroneko and Ayase.

I didn't like season 1 at all. I'm left with the impression that I should not start season 2 or go anywhere near it.

Another great episode. While I hate the long

I think anyone with half a brain or a modicum of common sense who didn't delude themselves into thinking otherwise already knew what to expect from the very beginning. It's just that knowing what to expect and seeing it actually play out are two entirely different things, lol.

Blame Region A or God.
Well... yeah, that's probably a large factor as well. But are we seriously going to get screwed over like this into the indefinite future because of reverse import fears or whatever it is? I mean, the only recent release that I can recall being out so quickly in the U.S. compared to its Japan release was The Garden of Words. I'm probably forgetting lots of others though; I don't pay as close attention to the entire R1 release schedule as some may think.

Yes, heaven's forbid people try not to judge a book by the cover. Clearly they are assholes.
Sometimes a title tells you enough about a work that you should expect certain things.
Look at something like Futaimo for example. The title tells you everything you need to know!
