They're all in middle school. I believe they said that in the first episode.

Don't worry , unlike gainax , that ending will make sense.

Let's not forget the tragedy that was mahoromatic, melody of oblivion , this ugly and beautifull world and many others.

BUt madoka is different , it's actually an ending that make sense.

EoE made sense though

Sayaka was probably my favorite character on the show. Seems like kind of a minority opinion, though?

I felt like her character was given a lot of depth. In that yeah her wish may have been foolish, but people do foolish things for the people they care for. She was stuck in situations that weren't on her side. And pretty much she did a good deed for someones sake and got screwed over by the Butcher (Urobuchi). So your not alone.

Pupipo 5-6

Last arc is over, on to the next one. In episode 5, I like how they used that children's song to bring up Azuma's past history. It drove the emotional stakes of that moment home in a way I didn't expect.

There were two people watching from behind telephone poles in 6, and I only know who one of them was.

Sayaka was great. Also loved her in the movie. Her decisions weren't something the audience will agree with, but I liked her resolve towards the end of it all.

In typical LN fashion, it's bogged down by unnecessary, hamfisted melodrama at the end. I didn't think it was that bad (until the end), but its earned it's criticism.

It's funny cause the LN (up to Vol.2 at least) had none of that melodrama. No dead dad nonsense, no its all right she's a chunn despite we went through an entire season of potential growth and crap speech.

It gets even worse in season 2, where the anime goes with will they will they not even bother holding hands crap instead of how in vol.2 of the LN, they are a happy lovely bothering everyone around them couple.

Even the childhood friend was better utilized. The anime made it more LN than the LN.

Also KnK > Chuu2Chuu

Whoa, I had entirely forgotten a second season existed.

Sayaka's definitely my favorite Madoka character. Loved the whole
tragic arc she goes through. It was really upsetting, but at the same time wonderful to watch as she destroyed herself.
A great character, I think! Also really loved her in Rebellion. She was really cool there.

Just got through watching it not too long ago. It's a fantastic show. You've seen the Bakeneko arc from Ayakashi, have you not? It's equally brilliant with the best parts of Mononoke.

Nope, first experience I've had with this series. Looking forward to watching it, but it'll probably have to wait until I finish Clannad season 1.

I should probably read these LNs now. I actually liked the childhood friend to begin with.

Welp look like the big midseason arc is starting, Precure Hunter summoning an army of Saiyarks to destroy the city but Honey is having none of that and destroys most of them with one attack, so OP. Fortune gets transported to the Precure Graveyard which is dark and morbid as hell for a kids show, looks like she's gonna get crushed next episode. So many Hime faces but I'm not complaining

Well now I look dumb. >_>

Not dumb. Just, unbeknownst to you, a little creepy.

Lol.

They're approx 13/14 with Mami being 14/15.

Ain't more of a minority than us few MamiBros!

Mami doesn't get enough respect.

Also 12, 14, 15 it's all the same to me personally.

They're actually in the 14ish range, although whether that distinction matters depends on the person I guess.

Yeah. At the end of the day they are all in middle school and way underage. Soooo....

Well, it wasn't really for someone else's sake, it was for her own sake.
She wanted her crush to get better and be happy because she wanted to be with him. The whole point is that she thought she was making a wish for someone else's sake but it was for her own. When she didn't get the reward for the act she was unhappy. There's no such thing as a completely selfless act, people do good thing because they get something out of it, whether it's a gift, a feeling of self importance/joy or because they feel they have an obligation to do it.

The last story arc of Ayakashi: Samurai Horror Tales (ep 9 - 11 I believe) serve as a prologue to Mononoke. While it's not completely necessary, I'd highly recommend watching it before Mononoke since it introduces the main character, Kusuriuri, and establishes most of the concepts used throughout Mononoke. It's also awesome all on its own.

Chuunibyou is a genuinely good, sweet, and entertaining show, the hate for it never ceases to amaze me

The problem with Chuunibyou is that it's a show written by cowardly hacks. It's an endemic plague common to anime, where stock characters are forced into artificial stasis out of fear of audience rejection. In a show like Chuunibyou in particular, this boxes the writers into a corner where they're forced to justify the main character indulging the harmful self-delusions of a mentally ill girl.

The ultimate lesson I got from Sayaka's arc is that
if you do choose to selflessly work for the sake of others then you must be prepared to bear the burden that work puts on yourself. She evidently wasn't capable of that at the time.

In that sense I found it less tragic and more a cautionary tale. It's also interesting how (Rebellion spoilers)
the themes of Sayaka's struggles served as a parallel of sorts to Madoka's wish and Homura's eventual rejection of said wish. Madoka proved capable of bearing the burden Sayaka couldn't, while Homura proved incapable.

You know out of all the characters in Madoka, I liked Sayaka and the red head the most.

Kyoko da bestttttt

Kono minikuku mo utsukushii sekai is a terrible horrible show

Madoka Magica - 6

Holy shit, Kyubey is laying down the truth. This was just as funny, if not funnier, than when the dad said his bad food line. So I guess my prediction was right.
Kyubey said if the Soul Gem gets too dark, it will turn into a witch. The Soul Gem was then said to be the magical girl. Therefore, the magical girl will turn into a witch.

So... is Mami alive? Or did her Soul Gem get eaten when she was decapitated?

ef: a tale of melodies 1-3: So far I'm really loving this, if it can maintain this quality throughout it'll surpass the already great Memories. I'm already digging the focused cast of Himuro, Kuze, Mizuki, and Yuuko a lot more than the Memories core cast, and also the OP makes me dreammmm.

The OP is so good. Although I do like Memories more than Melodies (the series, not the OP).

Ao Haru Ride 3

Kou is a really interesting character, at least in my opinion. Watching this show is going to be a battle between unraveling his character and trying to withstand the annoying humor and Futaba's dead eyes.

Gah, this humor is terrible. Especially when compared to something like Nozaki-kun.

And Kou just did a Shaft head-tilt.

I don't know if I'll keep up with this. I'll give it one more episode.

Of course she's not, she's a girl with an overactive imagination, that's certainly not "mentally ill"

It's not the overactive imagination that makes her mentally ill, it's her inability to separate fiction from reality and her retreat into infantilization in response to her trauma.

She needs therapy, not a pseudo-boyfriend-slash-surrogate-parent who participates in her denial.
