It was like 6 minutes of beach tho lol

Yea, still kind of sucked.
Kind of beyond tired of the heroes getting jobbed out at this point. I get what they are going with the Beast Mode and the second battlebut still we are on episode 7 now. The I need to get stronger creed is getting old and I hope this is the end of it.

Anime-GAF, need some advice. I've been watching Fullmetal Alchemist and I'm on episode 34. The first 25 episodes were excellent, I was glued to the screen the whole way through. Since then however the show has lost a lot of its driving force. Sure they padded it out a bit but the whole excitement and intrigue isn't there any more. This is despite the fact that a lot of stuff seems to be happening.

Similarly it has gotten rather confusing, this could be because it is my summer break and my brain is turning into jelly from inactivity but did anyone feel the same?

Responses would be greatly helpful, I really don't want to ruin this incredible show for myself.

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Episode 6 and 7

How does one get such a basic question so wrong, lol. I laughed when Juudai even smirked at this incorrect answer. Good Dark Duel.

Sho deck is good too but I wish they handled it better. Vehicroids is one of the best.

Copy from Charlotte OT:

Wow, awesome awesome stuff. They gave no backstory of what happened at the end of episode 6, and who those other kids were, so a lot more to come in future episodes.
Yuu being evil was fun to watch and the drug scene believable. I can't believe her being by his side the whole time was a possibility. Now, with that being said, those two better hook up soon.

If you think about it, although lame, the ending has a lot of psychological merit to it by reminding him..

I died at all the Clannad love the episode got. I'm sad, but I loved the episode..

I was expecting some Police Story theme song too. Dammit.

Symphogear GX 07

A beach episode in disguise. Overall the episode felt oddly disjointed at times, kind of disappointed after that fabulous episode 6 last week.

and THAT'S how they are going to end the episode? What the heck. When it happened I couldn't stop laughing for a bit.

so for all the thoughts about Hibiki's dad being a scientist involved deeper with the Symphogear/conspiracy stuff, turns out he's just a bum hiding out at a Government island as a 24/7 store employee. Okay writers. Whatever you say.

Weren't some other guys saying something about Mizuki Nana commenting that she had to scream a lot in episode 7 and that the show writers thought they "went too far" with episode 7?

Was expecting something tragic/unexpected to happen...but yea...definitely not a beach episode >.>

Gatchaman Crowds Insight 07

So Gel is going to be the one who starts up the conflict. Not very surprised. Berg-Katze's comment about him running from Gel has me intrigued. Hope the ending scene isn't all that happens, don't really want the Gatchamen to punch these guys and then it's all settled.

Symphogear GX 07

Alright first off what the fuck kind of bikini does Maria even have

I guess since things finally got hype there has to be a cool down beach episode.

Also I bought a Hibiki figma. Shame they didn't have a Chris one ):

HAHAHAHAHAHA NO FUCK ALL THAT, THAT CLIFFHANGER AT THE END IS 100% CERTIFIED BULLSHIT, AMAZING. FUCK YOU WRITERS, YOU GREAT PEOPLE.

I thought the Symphogear GX 7 cliffhanger was unexpected but I'm interested in seeing what they do with it. Can you not say the same?

Original or Brotherhood? The original anime went anime-original after the halfway point, since the manga wasn't finished yet. The material after that point was written by Sho Aikawa, known for stuff like Eureka Seven AO and lots of bad 90s OVAs. It's some of his best work, but that isn't really saying much.

Brotherhood is a straight up adaptation of the manga with some of the early material abridged since it's already in the first adaptation. I'd recommend reading the manga over watching it, but usually considered to be a better show than the first adaptation.

OG FMA. I planned to only watch the first 10 episodes and move to Brotherhood but enjoyed it so much I carried on till 25 and then eventually 33 (since the first 13 episodes of Brotherhood cover that many episodes).

I know that Brotherhood is more faithful but I really liked the fact that the first half really expanded on the characters and themes of the show.

So I got spoiled on something that happens at the end of volume 1 of Rokka (where most likely the anime will end). Not who the 7th is thankfully (I still think it's really obvious though) but something else that makes me scream for a second season lol.

Now I'm really interested on what you were spoiled, but I'll just wait and see.

Iroha was as good as I thought she'd be, Hayama emerges as best bro, and the anime keeps getting better and better. I really like Kaori's character, even she's super unpleasant. I mean everyone's met a Kaori right? And God forbid a kind of person like that is your old crush.

Damn, I hate cliffhangers. I wanted to see more of that battle with Hans. Love all the mystery and action with this anime and I really hope they tell a complete story with it.

Dear Nakumura Kenji, I don't like Hajime's tits being shoved to my face every single damn time she talks to Katze.

And dear Tsubasa...please shut the fuck up.

I have reasons for preferring it over Brotherhood, but the latter half is indeed quiet flawed. If you think this isn't for you it might be helpful to continue with Brotherhood.

I know what you're talking about since I've been spoiled too. Yeah, it sucks. At least the novels are getting fan translated.

Maybe it's just me but every time I try to read a fan translation of a Japanese novel it always reads really shitty. It's either translated too literally where it's hard to read or it's translated so poorly that I feel like I'm missing half the content. At least with badly translated anime/manga I can still generally pick up the context of what's going on by the visuals.

I've seen a lot of posts about Charlotte over the last few pages, with some comparing it to Code Geass. Now CG is one of my favorite animes of all time, so should I check out Charlotte? Are they that similar?

Also, there's no loli/moe shit, is there? I have no tolerance for that.

Oh my god stay far, far away from ANYTHING Key if you have zero tolerance for moe.

I haven't watched Geass, however, there is no loli shit that I can remember. Moe/cute, then yes, but Imouto was clean, dressed and we'll done. I've never seen anything from key even come close. I mean, they made one of the most powerful animes ever that goes into adult life and it had 0 sex scenes or anything racey included.

Cardfight!! Vanguard G Episode 35 (engDub)

Took 35 episodes but finally I know the engdub ed song, Im cheering on for you is so good. Now to just try to know Break It, even though Ive listened to it in JPN so many times.

Chrono aunt drama was good, finally getting his background and seeing how he can improve it for the future was good.

i don't really get the comparison... code geass is balls out crazy dumb sunrise original anime turned up to 11, charlotte is a show written by a dude who writes nothing but tragedy porn. the most direct comparison to charlotte I can think of for non-anime fans is like super hammy k/j dramas

anyways, you wouldn't like it.

Nice job with Yamada's story, although the whole speaking thing was kinda weird, but the next plot to be filled in should be done next week, then they better start working on those relationships, lol.

You say that, but I don't think I've seen anything even borderline in their anime. Moe=cute, yeah, but nothing that would raise a red flag.

The only thing in common with it is the main character has eye powers that let him control others. That's it. You won't enjoy it if you can't tolerate "moe".

Trust me. The people who claim zero tolerance for "moe" (which is nonsense, but...not worth the post) would drop most Key anime. Their style is to use the characters in comedic situations to appeal to you and then do horrible things to them once you're emotionally attached.

If your response to Ayumi (or Ayu or Nagisa or Misuzu) is not "how cute" but "how do I shut this girl off?" it doesn't work. At all.

And I say this as a fan of Jun Maeda and Key's work.

Yeah, I was focusing on the "loli" part, which they do not go into at all.

Fuck, I can't believe I even just typed that word after..

Yeah, game time.

Does anyone play The Last of Us MP on PS4? I've never given it a shot before.

Nothing at all in Charlotte.

I mean there are no sexualized little girls, right? That's my most important criteria.

No, there's none of that. Key stuff is basically fanservice-free. (Putting the games aside.)

It's still not like Code Geass. The main character is a little similar to Lelouch in personality. That's where the comparisons come from.

I honestly don't get the general hate for moe. I don't like characters such as imouto, but while she was grating it wasn't like I'd drop a series because of her. Then again, I liked K-On and Lucky Star, and am watching Wakaba*Girl, so I might be part of the problem according to some.

While they won't make me drop a show, characters such as Mikuru (Haruhi series) or Rika (Higurashi, at least before the story focused on her) do annoy me quite a bit. No, being overly clumsy or going "mii~" won't make me overlook the fact that they're one-dimensional characters that keep trying too hard to be "cute".

With every new episode I like this show less and less. Not sure why I keep watching, maybe because I hope to see some fun action, instead all I get is boring flashback drama during games too.

No, there's none of that in Charlotte. However, it's nothing like Code Geass. No mecha, no war, no dual protagonists. Just a group of kids with weird powers that will disappear by the time they leave their teens, and said kids go around finding other kids with similar powers and convincing them not to use their powers or the government will capture and experiment on them.

Unless there's something that cancels out the moe, like zombies or an interesting world, i won't watch it. I have better things to watch, like my backlog of Berserk movies.

I'll reinforce that there's nothing of the sort in Charlotte. There's a stock little sister character that acts cute, but never does so in a way that could be even remotely though of as being sexualized.

...Man, I just had flashbacks to that School Live EP4 flashback as I typed this. Now that's wrong on so many levels... even more so because fanservice makes no sense at all given the overall tone of the series, and the fact that it uses a moe art style that makes the cast of high school girls look like grade schoolers.

Edit: I've already reached the point where I watch things on a whim, but I'd say I don't hate moe elements unless they're used to make a show or character one-dimensional. In that case it wouldn't matter if it was moe, dudebro or whatever, because the problem isn't the trope but the fact that there's nothing else that defines a given character other than fitting such trope to a T.
