I haven't watched Darkness (yet), but Motto is a lot better than the first season. The gags are still stupid, but they cut the fat and aren't as stupid. And the artwork is just soooo much better than season 1.

Maybe I'll take a peek at some point and see if it's worth the time. TLR had some really fun parts, but some of those random episodes and arcs were just bad.

Xebec aren't gods because they didn't give us a Kanokon sequel.

Manga spoilers (I think):
Didn't they get married and have a bunch of little dirty babies
right after the anime events? That would have been hilarious...

Looking forward to finishing off this surprisingly decent season.

Yeah, looking back to a few months ago everyone was saying that there was only smut airing this summer, I'm pleasantly suprised by the amount of non-smut, good shows airing this time.

The upcoming season is also looking pretty good with some high profile shows airing.

Well that Wall of Shame looks a tad depressing with the number of bannings in there. Let's try to not have that happen again

Am I the only one who isn't interested one bit in that game? D:

No. If you aren't into the franchise at this point, it's hard to get into it at this point. I'm forcing myself to get into MGS with this game to see what the big deal is. Only played MGS1 and Rising before this.

Only good Metal Gear is Twin Snakes.

You live up to your tag.

I would actually like to get into it, but I haven't played any of the other games. And I am that type of gamer, if the story of a game series continues with each game (like here) I actually want to play the other games before. But then thinking of having to play through 4 games to actually get to play the current one... no thanks. Maybe someday.

it's 5 games actually. MGSV is a sequel to Peace Walker

You could just get away with MGS3 -> PW (which according to a recent GAF thread you might as well just read the story for) -> MGSV since that's the Big Boss saga.

I want to say this as well, but dear god the gameplay of DR:AE is holding it back.
I'm actually having a blast shooting Monokumas in their red eye lol. In terms of presentation, cutscenes, story, mood, right off the bat I think this game is superior to 1 and 2. Sure people hold 1 to great esteem since it gave us that shock factor, but AE is a step forward in all fronts. As a matter of fact, I would love it if they used this engine for DR3. We wouldn't need to shoot anyone but having these nice cutscenes and 3D models rather than the cut-outs (which were pretty stylish and all), I'd be all in. The game is a looker too, pushes the system to its limits.

I somehow have to get my hands on a Vita so I can actually start playing this series. D:

I even dropped the anime after 2 or 3 episodes to play the games back when it was current.
If you plan on experiencing the game, even if only through a Let's Play, I'd say that's the way to go. The anime, although not bad, is shortened severely, omits a whole bunch of the story due to episode length constraints, and will rob you of the experience that the game gives you.

don't trust those people, PW is a great game. It's way better than 4.

if you don't like PW you're in for a bad time with V anyways, since it's just an expanded version of the PW concept

Xebec aren't gods because they didn't give us a Kanokon sequel.

But they did provide us glorious Maken-ki and those OVAs, I can forgive them.

Also please duckroll, I've never even played a MGS game but have seen enough of it to know it totally qualifies as anime.

I only played Ground Zeroes because it was free on PS+, I had like no idea what was going on, first there was some long cutscene about things that I didn't understand, for some reason snake has an army???

When I could actually play I found some sort of tank, killed everyone and threw some kid and a lucky prisoner in a helicopter before I lost interest, maybe I should finish it.

The graphics for a Vita game a pretty damn good, I'll give it that. So is the plot and characters. I can't go into that without going into spoilers though. It's just I feel the shooting mechanics are mediocre. Not bad at all, just don't stand out and feel like a stiffer version of RE4 and every third person shooter made after it. Other than that, the presentation is fine (excluding no subtitles during cutscenes, which there are a decent amount of).

Well I've only play 1-3 since I don't have a PS3 and judging from Konami's current situation a PS4 port of MGS4 is unlikely to happen any time soon so I guess I'll be MGS4less for a while since with every new port to the PS4 the PS3 looks less and less attractive to get now.

I'm happy that I went into completely blind. So far it's been nothing but a joy to see the character interactions. I'm only on chapter 1 with 4hrs of playtime, I'm sure that I am in for a crazy ride. The shooting isn't anything revolutionary yeah, it's fun enough for me though. Genocide Mode is a blast too.

I'm in similar boat. Haven't had a console for 2 generations now so still waiting for MGS4 on PC. ;p

I've only just realised 5 releases on PC too. Might give it a shot once I'm done with GTA V which is on hold for 2 months now.

I watched Another last night. All in one sitting, because I have no life. D:

Gotta say, I was genuinely surprised at the direction that went. The show throws all kinds of red herrings at you and then a few episodes later goes "haha tricked you didn't we". I liked it.

Of course they do this after the season has started. I don't know if watch it yet, I mean, TLR was entertaining, however, is there anything redeeming about TLR:D outside of t&a and sexual agnst?

I'd say no. There's supposed to be some semblance of plot with a mysterious waifu going after Golden waifu using another waifu weapon, and all of them getting a bit too close to Rito while everybody else does the same, but there's heavenly light everywhere so you can't even tell if the plot's actually there.

You should only watch it if you like ecchi, because that's all you're going to get. The comedy skits wear thin really fast since characters are like dogs that only know a single trick and the plot's pacing would make even Detective Conan proud.

Edit @Russ T: I absolutely loved the first part since it looked like a very moody psychological thriller, but then the show decided to shed light on every single mystery and becoming Final Destination... it was still okay, but I wished it kept the first part's Lynchean tone with the MC wondering whether Mei was real or not and the creepy doll museum lady who said the exact same lines both times she showed up.

Why do people gave shit to MGS4? Sure story sucks because nanomachines but the gameplay is awesome and varied like mech fights, motorcycle chase and Solid vs Ocelot CQC brawler.

Ever since episode 10 of first season, they've been nailing all the subtle interactions between Candy Store and Ren-chon, it's always the best when they're together. Renge doesn't even treat her differently from everyone else, but the way Kaede reacts, she just can't resist her cuteness :')

Can't wait to watch Umarun today too. I have MGS V waiting for me at home but I'm more excited about watching Umaru driking cola for 20 minutes :')

Jitsu wa Watashi wa was also pretty cute again, but not really going anywhere. The spoilers I've read were pretty good though, so I'm very excited for that. Even if they never animate that part, I can just jump into the manga after the anime is done, I guess.

About To Love-Ru on Crunchyroll, is it the uncensored version? I never watched it, but if it's there, might as well.

MGSV TPP > anime.

So far it's really really good. Definitely didn't expect to like it that much.

I feel bad, all this MGS talk and I bought MGS4 right after launch and it's still sitting wrapped in plastic on my shelf. I spent waaay too much time play Resistance 1-2, then Killzone 2 back in the day. I mean, clan wars, MLG, recruiting, man, good times, but soooo much time wasted and I had to miss out on playing so many games, lol.

For what it's worth, you don't really need to play MGS 4 before V, so if you feel like jumping in to be a part of the early hype (especially if you enjoy MGO), you can do so without any problems.

The story. I know I know, Metal Gear stories have never been the best but several things in that game's story seems to have gone beyond people's level of tolerance for BS.
