Summer Anime 2017 |OT| More streaming services than shows to watch

So this has become available in Ireland and even has a decent back catalogue (CR's is actually much reduced in Ireland vs. the US) so I tried to sign up on Tuesday. I had no luck as their c/c system wanted a postcode and Ireland only sort of has those (it's a mess) so I e-mailed messaged tech. support via the link. They got back to me within 24 hours with some simple questions and I responded listing what I had tried and a potted history of Ireland and post codes.
I was very nicely surprised to get an e-mail back within a few hours explaining they had identified an issue with their payment services supplier and would comp me an account until it was fixed. Got an e-mail last night saying it was all fixed, tested it just there and it was all good so I am now a subscriber.
I've moaned enough on here about bad customer service with FuniNow that I wanted to tell a tale of good service when it happened too.

Lol I didn't realize they released Kizu.

Also is there any anime you would recommend that's good or at least decent this season?

Edit: looking at the OP it seems like there's nothing good to watch for the Summer season......

Eureka Seven: AO 5-6

I hope Fleur didn't seriously fall for this dude that fell on her. Though, they do look nice in suits now. So the Nueroi can materialize as theme park attractions, that's cool. A shape shifting psycho esper appears because this is an honest show.

BTW, what was that talk about the double Amazon paywall for Welcome to the Ballroom? It's on PrimeVideo.

The double paywall is only in the US, as the US is the only country in which Amazon currently has their Anime Strike service that requires an extra monthly payment on top of Prime. If you live outside the US, you only need to pay for Prime to watch the anime on Amazon's service. Assuming they have it - I just saw that apparently Amazon has taken down all of their noitaminA anime in Canada for some reason (possibly a prelude to expanding their Anime Strike service into that country as well?).

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Season 1 (2006) - chronological order
I just finished my binge watching and now I get what you were saying about the pacing. With the chronological order the season peaks halfway through with the climactic episodes TMOHS Part IV (knife girl) and VI (the dream and the
kiss.
). The episodes 7 to 13 were enjoyable but nothing really huge happens in them. The broadcast order makes more sense with Part VI as the last episode.

I see the series in Europe.

For now at least, as you say it seems they are rolling the new service bit a bit.

Dive!! Episode 2

Continuing to enjoy it. Seems like the show is going to try and touch on the things someone would have to sacrifice in order to actually be able to compete on a world level. I like the coach character as well and don't really care about the new diver yet.

Also MC continues to not care about the existence of his girlfriend lol. Still wondering where that story line is going to go.

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
About the Show
Simulcast on Thursdays 11:30am EDT
"Would you like to be with me... in the Gamers Club?" Amano Keita is a perfectly mediocre loner with no particular distinguishing features other than his love for games. One day, his school's prettiest girl and Gamer Club President Tendo Karen suddenly calls out to him. That moment changes Keita's life forever, as he now finds himself in the midst of a romcom with beautiful girl gamers... or, well, that's how it usually goes. Not with him, however.

:(

so not only did you watch season 1 in broadcast order, but you didn't watch season 2 at the same time.

now you get to watch season 2 which for the most part takes place in between episodes of season 1 :/ I think only like 1 episode takes place after season 1 in season 2.

I'm sorry but it's all VERY confusing!

And I've watched season 1 in the chronological order actually (with someday in the rain as the last episode).

Is it ok if I watch only the new episodes of S2? Or should I rewatch all the episodes of S1 I just saw to atone for my sins?

you can watch season 2, but it's going to be a bit jumbled.

season 2 actually originally aired rebroadcasting season 1 and placing season 2 eps where they need to be in chronological order.

thus you can watch season 2, but you are going to have random jumps here and there in the story.

either way watch the movie after you finish season 2.

but yeah the original release of the series in english was garbage. with season 1 and season 2 separate there was no good way to watch season 2 the way it should be watched.

at least with the new funimation release that was fixed.

And you guys were wondering why I was so confused when watching Haruhi...

Don't worry, he can skip all but the last 30 seconds of 8 episodes in S2.....

Got a lot of free time recently so I decided to watch some anime that I couldn't watch before.

Your Lie In April - This left me in a trainwreck. The music really hits hard. Like fuck! I will remember this anime fondly.

Erased - Very intriguing but I kinda feel it's felt rushed towards the end. Sad that protag didn't get his childhood friend.

Two of my favs from start to finish!

nah he should just watch episodes 1,2 the end of 7 and all of 8 in that arc.
I wouldn't skip the whole thing, it's an experience :p

Haruhi is bad, from a bad era of anime where stuff like Lucky Star was huge

Thank God KyoAni turned itself around and became genuinely good

I need to experience Lucky Star at some point....

Fair enough. As long as he gets to skip a large portion of that trash arc, lol.

Aight, thanks. That's fortunately relatively soon.

I'm confident enough in the quality of the Dark Tournament Arc to say that, regardless of how far you (or anyone) happens to be in the first season, they should push through until they get to that particular arc. It's just that good! And I'm saying that as someone who doesn't even like the Arc as much as some people I've talked about it with.

Made in Abyss Ep1
Well this was exceptional, I do hope the dark hints about where the series went in print aren't echoed here. A lot of ICO echoes in this with the robot boy having horns and windmills everywhere, I hope we get more world building next episode as it seems like an early 20th century setting but I'd like to understand the rules a bit better as there was little seeming shock at
energy weapons or robot boys
.

KyoAni has produced more television series after K-ON than before K-ON.

In other news growing old sucks.

I also think their output is fine compared to KyoAni before K-On. Violet Evergarden will hopefully be their ultimate redemption.

This is so good.
I really like how tight the pacing is. There's no fluff, everything that happens is important and moves things along, yet it's far from being rushed, everything has the weight it deserves.
Like, it doesn't even need drawn out flashbacks for the past of its characters. Rick just straight up tells Amanza his in this episode, it takes like half a minute and yet it was really chilling.
And oh boy, the after ending bit.

So good.

What even is this show.

How did it get to this point?

What does this have to do with anything?

Where did this backstory even come from?

This whole thing is just escalation for escalation's sake.

Should have watched Mawaru Soultaker !

Lol I didn't realize they released Kizu.

Also is there any anime you would recommend that's good or at least decent this season?

(Hi)

Since you're out of the loop you might have missed Shingeki no Bahamut continuing from the previous season. Tsurezure Children and Aho Girl are decent comedies for now. Reflection has a shot at being good and different but it is still to air.

Edit: Oh, people liked Made in Abyss a lot too.

Yes!

Gonzo made a much better job than Kyoto Animation in FMP

You're nuts.

Princess Principal Ep. 1

Why couldn't they just have made the team older or every other character more stylised? It drains tension from otherwise good scenes and makes the whole thing feel very odd in places (the Agnes/Eric tension). Goddammit moe

GOD DAMN
So the real antagonist was actually Ido all along.
Or rather, the Ido that was Kain, before he became Ido.
I really like how the show handles 'identity'.
And
I really can't hate Addams. He makes a great 'villain',

They need to sell figurines.

But also set a steampunk story in 20th century London.

Long time no see, been in gaming section for too long lol.

Yeah I will try those as well.

anime is dead this season

Its great for people with huge backlogs.
