I'd recommend watching parts 1 and 2 in anime form as the art in the series is much better, reading it from there should be fine.

in anime form parts 1 and 2 take up a standard 26 episode season. Part 3 is set for 52 episodes but that would be a good part to start reading the manga.
They vary, some are fairly long.
Pretty short, Part 1 and 2 is 26 Episodes combined.
First season of Part 3 is 24 Episodes, and the second season is 10 episodes in so far.
