My gut feeling is this Wonder Direct signals there won't be a big September blowout Direct like normal, at the very least a Direct moved to late October. But I could definitely be wrong.

I'm confident we'll get something before Tokyo Game Show, and I reckon it'll be General so they can announce third party games for Q1 2024.

I would love a real successor to Super Mario Land on SNES with hidden paths and all.

Maybe I'm a minority but I feel like Yoshi's Island was legit Mario 5 (or as the NA box called it, Super Mario World 2).

No, no. You're right. Yoshi's Island was a legit new Mario. It was awesome in every way like all the others main title Mario's.
