In the pantheon of Mario Party games, Super Mario Party Jamboree is the best new game in a long, long time. After getting back to basics with Superstars, Jamboree sticks with the more traditional Mario Party formula in all the right ways, while still finding space to mix things up a little with new items, a blend of motion and button control minigames, Pro Rules, and some larger online modes and experiments. This is practically essential for Mario Party fans.

Jamboree is one of the best Mario Party games to date, due to the sheer number of modes available and their general high quality. It still hasn't managed to shake some of the core issues of the series (especially when it comes to balancing the game for younger and less experienced players) but judged against previous entries it stands out as a top offering.

Woah, I could be wrong but I didn't think Mario Party typically reviewed well? I remember at least Game Informer (rip) notoriously gave it low scores.

I was just playing Super Mario Party last night and while fun, it definitely lacks the charm of the originals so I'm glad to hear this seemingly recaptured it. I'm hoping to pick up this and the new Zelda soon.

Just sucks that you're not able to play team matches anymore, my dad (67 years) loves to play Mario Party but he's not that good at the mini-games, so we have fun when we play as a team. MP6 is still our favorite.

Sounds pretty good. I played one of the recent ones with my kids and they loved it. If this is more chunky on the content side, then it sounds like a no brainer.

For Mario Party Mode:

Random Match - One person can play per Nintendo Switch console. (2-4 players)
Friend Match - Up to 3 players can play on one Nintendo Switch console. (2-4 players)

Really stupid that you can't have two people play vs two randoms online.

Seems like the only modes two people on one console can play online is Mini-Game Harbor Tag Team Match and Mario Party VS friends.

Game is good. REAL good fun! Got it on Thursday and kids have been having a blast playing it all weekend! I’ve loved it as well! Nintendo magic just seems to shine through!

All sorts of mini games is what make Mario party games good I was raised on Mario party 1-4, it’s littered with good mini games.
