Touch Fuzzy, Get Dizzy
Perhaps it's time for your annual check-up over at Specsavers?same super bland artstyle for the last 20 years...why are they so accepting of swapping zelda designs around but not mario.
Mario's been doing that for years, where were you???Parents will ban the game because it promotes drug use.

October.i enjoy its aesthetic. release when?
Idk,for comparison the last Mario bros game was a launch title on Wii U, literally using last gen Wii assetsLooks weird, which could be cool, or disastrous. I’ll reserve judgement for more details/gameplay.
With the visual Fidelity I’m going to say this is a 30FPS game though, which is disappointing
It really is. They've had 30+, years to top those games or at the very least match them and they keep failing and tripping (literally this time) over themselves. They just haven't got a single 2D Mario right since the SNES, embarrassing really.
Mobile games usually play it very safe and are very dull aesthetically, which this is. There are many different art style they could have gone with and they went with one of the most safe and boring. This isn't surprising as even their 3D games now all look the same.I think saying something looks like a mobile game is disingenious because we're at a point where mobile games can look very nice as well with the phone hardware we have now.
The reason I don't play mobile games is not because of the art style or hardware but because of their predatory mictrotransactions.
I'm buying this game day 1. Looks like it's full of charm and it will be fun to collect everything.
exactly, saying something looks mobile means that its streamlined, low power, lacking character. Modern mobile games be damned, they still shouldn't exist!Mobile games usually play it very safe and are very dull aesthetically, which this is. I know that back in the Wii U era, 2D Mario and 3D Mario were *completely* seperate teams, with the 2D Mario team being the "B" team. I don't see any reason why that would have changed.More Mario great, but it don’t look that much different from nsmb.
They should just give it to Retro Studios, they seem to understand what it takes to make a modern 2D platformer.I know that back in the Wii U era, 2D Mario and 3D Mario were *completely* seperate teams, with the 2D Mario team being the "B" team. I don't see any reason why that would have changed.
I can never tell from youtube videos/streams. But I can tell you they were definitely dropping some acid when they made this.Anyone else detect 30 FPS with drops, from the footage?
Retro is good but they're balls-deep in Metroid Prime 4 right now. I'm curious as to what the 3D Mario team has been working on after Bowser's Fury (which to me, was kinda mid). They should just give it to Retro Studios, they seem to understand what it takes to make a modern 2D platformer.
I'm pretty sure Retro has two teams, one working on Metroid Prime 4 and other working on the long rumoured new Donkey Kong game. I may be wrong, but some credible people have said numerous times that Donkey Kong sequel is in the works. If this is the case then I'd prefer that team to work on 2D Mario, but I think the bureaucracy at Nintendo would not allow for this.Retro is good but they're balls-deep in Metroid Prime 4 right now.
