From what was shown, remaster looks really cheap. They show the GameCube version of the whale stage then they show the switch version, switch doesn't even have undulating water.

Fat Frog

I advertised for Google Stadia
RGG Studio.

Virtua Fighter 5 X AM2
Sakura Wars (quests) X Sonic Team
SOR4 X Lizard Cube
Monkey Ball

The Yakuza Studio is no longer a Yakuza only Studio... That's pretty cool.

What is SEGA's obsession with adding Piss Yellow as a Logo to the games now?

I own Banana Blitz HD and they didn't really fix the issues with the bosses in the game.

Sceptical of this but if it plays like the originals on Gamecube, then I will buy it.

This releasing means that Banana Blitz HD sold well enough. If this turns out to be successful too we may get a new title. I mean new good title. I hope they realized now that the first two games are the reason why this became a franchise.

Take that Steam Deck!
As already pointed out, the game will release on PC as well so it can be played on the Deck. As far as I know the PC version will feature gyro too.

Still great release and I am happy its 60 FPS on Switch.

I was making a joke lol.

EDIT: (Also I don't see Banana Mania on Steam so Nintendo still wins against the Steam Deck!)

Gyro controls are TERRIBLE for Monkey Ball. These games are meant to be played with an analog stick, you get so much better control that way.
There were Marble Madness games on Wii which were quite good, but the main difference is that in Monkey Ball you play the ball while in Marble Madness you tilt the environment. Probably makes all the difference.

In the main game I completely agree, but would love to try it with my professional tracker ball - like the marble madness arcade machine by Cerny - and in Banana Blitz the wiimotes revolutionized monkey target in mine and friend's humble opinions - such a shame they only did one map in Blitz target.

In fact, blitz mini games are largely excellent and all rely on the motion controls of wiimote IMHO.

Really loving how this is turning out, but was really irritated by them making the original music and original costumes additional DLC - not because of price, I'd happily pay the same price for physical - but because it basically means you cannot buy the game complete and physically own for another 20years.

Complete slap in the face to fans of the game for the last 20years IMO. Same digital only setup with Virtua Fighter, now too. Normally you can hold out for a GotY version for big single player games with DLC, but SMB games are unlikely to get one of those releases.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania reviewed on PlayStation 5 by Sarah LeBouef. Narrated by Ryan McCaffrey. Also available on Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

With over 300 stages compiled and upgraded from previous games in the series, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania has plenty to do, but not enough of it is half as fun as I remembered it. Its levels quickly become repetitive and frustrating, and the bright, cheerful environments and silly characters aren't enough to combat the tedium of retrying aggravating levels. When you consider the various gameplay modes, difficulty levels, challenges, and unlockables, it could take dozens of hours before you see everything, though you'll likely run out of momentum long before that point. It's much more enjoyable as a local multiplayer party game, so stick to party mode - or skip it entirely.

"As it turns out, Monkey-balling isn't as fun as it used to be?"
as it turns out, IGN reviewers suck ass when they that have a game in front of them that requires a little more than following a character at half a mph

From what I've seen in the videos it looks like Monkey Target hasn't been built on the success of the physics in the original Cube/Deluxe versions or Wii version, and still has its code running like a flash game, like the crappy Nintendo DS, Vita, etc versions of the mini game they had.

On that basis, me and my friends - that have largely been playing the SMB2 target split screen game for decades - are now ditching plans to buy this, and looking at a offline console-esq emulation solution to replace using a Wii and get the game running at a modern resolution with some anti-aliasing.
