Since people are posting their wish list. Here is my wishy washy roster, along with my friends' characters that they desire to see.
The roster isn't final tho since I kept changing my minds with few characters, but I will eventually change them when we get more characters announcements.

Would we get any new FE characters other than Chrom? I seriously doubt that they would consider other characters other than Chrom but I could be wrong.
Robin/Avatar is probable, but not as likely as Chrom/Lucina. I can see it happening if Sakurai wants a non-sword user to rep the new Fire Emblem.

I think it's a mighty safe bet that Dixie is going to be added to the roster. I was thinking Daisy was going to be included, but with Rosalina & Luma in now, what's the point?
I really want Bomberman, and Pacman in so that we can have three "men' characters in that joint.
Paper Mario would be a good addition too.

Gonna have to explain this one. Marth and Ike only have blue haired lord between themselves and Marth/Roy is more about how they play than anything else.

Probably. I have no problem if we are getting new representative from Fire Emblem. Only reason why I stuck with Roy because I haven't play any Fire Emblem games in my life time so It's easier to go with someone that I'm familiar with.

Dixie is more likely to be playable character but I have a feeling that she might be secret character tho. I would love to see King K Rool since I want more villains in the game. I seriously doubt that he have chance to be in the game as playable.
Pac Man should be in the game if E3 leak is correct, and I would love to see Bomberman but the series seem to be dead since Konami don't give a shit about it.

You're right, I should probably have worded it better. What I'm thinking is that Marth and Ike are fine, but I see no reason to bring back Roy when we will most likely get someone from Awakening too.
And now I'm getting visions of people using him online JUST to use his taunt in the same way Sonic's taunt was abused

Yes. We already have Little Mac, Wii Fit Trainer, Animal Crosser and Mega Man. Only two left to go which are Pac Man and Mii.

Just Chrom. I don't really care for Roy so I said "a new FE character" without thinking about it. I agree that no one other than him will make it.

That doesn't make any sense at all. The options you presented only allow either PS4 games or past-gen games. Neither of those options include Wii U games, which is the point. The system has great games, despite its gimmicks and faults.

I love it, personally. If you like PlayStation and don't go in expecting something like Smash you'll enjoy it. It plays completely differently in every way. Standardized hit stun, completely different movement, totally different sorts of attacks, much more ranged viable characters, different level design. I play it a ton, it's a great counterpart to Smash.I would play Smash but I'm at University and can't! (Don't have my Wii here). I guess I could... try Playstation All-Stars...

Assuming everyone from Brawl returns...
I highly doubt that there's only three newcomers we don't know about and that one of them is Lucina. That roster is nice, but too conservative in my opinion.

I said that Waluigi is irrelevant to the series as a whole. Not that the spin-offs are irrelevant.
Here's a little mind jogging for you:
Imagine all the Mario spin-offs in which Waluigi appears. Remove Waluigi and replace him with some other random ass character of your choice - let's make it Boom-Boom, since he's been in no spin-offs iirc.
Now, aside from Waluigi being replaced by Boom-Boom and the tracks named after Waluigi being named after Boom-Boom, what exactly would change? Alright, I'll make it easy for you: nothing.
Now imagine removing Paper Mario from all the Paper Mario he appears in. What exactly would change? I'll make it easy for you: The series wouldn't even exist, at least not in the way we know it.
He's back in Mario Kart 8 though. The producer of that one specific Mario Kart isn't the creator of the series or every single Mario spin-off in existence. ONE guy in charge of a Mario Kart not liking Waluigi != "Nintendo wanting to eliminate Waluigi".

Since you love putting words into my mouth, I'll put some in yours: Apparently you think that Waluigi is the most important Mario character that exists, because you are denying other characters are just as, or more important than him, including characters that have their own series (Paper Mario) or games (Toad).
Clearly, we are going to have to agree to disagree, because I don't think that Waluigi is important to the Mario spin-offs, or to the Mario series as a whole, and especially not in Smash, which not only celebrates the Mario series, but all of Nintendo.
And this is coming from someone who loves playing Waluigi in the Mario spin-offs and made a fan Smash moveset for him. It's not like I don't like Waluigi. I just don't think he deserves being in Smash.
I think both Dixie and K. Rool deserve to be added to Smash not only on the merits of their own characters, but also because Donkey Kong is one of Nintendo's most popular and successful franchises. From what I remember it is #5 with only Mario, Pokemon, Wii " " and Zelda ahead of it.
I almost forgot that a game is included in the Wii U price.

LTTP: started playing my first fire emblem ever today, started with "fire emblem" on GBA. I finally get the Lyn supporters! She is pretty cool although I would be fine with her just returning just as an AT. (We have enough sword users. I would be more know support of someone like Hector just because he offers a different kind of fighting style (uses as axe, and it would be cool to give him a hand axe or throwing axe for some range) or someone with a lance or javelin would be unique as well. I am now more OK with them dropping Ike (while acknowledging that yes he is a unique sword fighter) if it meant a different weapon user.

Nothing is going to save the Wii U, bar MK8 miraculously turning things around. At the same time, I'm not sure why that debate keeps coming up or how it'll have any bearing on the quality of games like Smash coming out.
I'm banking on the Wii U version being the ultimate version most hardcore fans will go to first, while the 3DS version while still a great portable alternative is more where the project recoups its money and turns a profit from more casual fans.
