I play for laughs. I've never played a game tots seriously. It was more a comment about people complaining about edge hogging yet seemingly not doing anything about it. It's like snaking in Mario Kart.
You do understand the point of the game is to keep your opponent off the stage right?

Being edge hogged is frustrating, but it's completely my fault for being in a situation where I no longer can get back to the stage without relying on the ledge. Some characters can wall jump or have damaging recoveries though, so there's still options even after that.
So with this mindset, I will edge hog people! I've chained aerials / reflector spiked / meteor smashed people off-stage, and to do that is a huge risk to myself also. If I manage to actually connect these attacks to get my opponent further away, then a lot of the time the ledge is my only option too, and I WILL stay there!

I miss it too, but Project M's system is a great compromise, even if it's one born out of modding limitations rather than choice. You can grapple the edge even if it's occupied, but it'll force a get-up jump which is still punishable.I kinda miss Melee's tether system. It was so flashy.
Brawl's "lock on" system was near useless due to being edgehogged, but Smash 4 finally seems to be helping it which I'm really looking forward to.
And edge hogging is totally legit.

Tons of SSB4 pics have weird size things going on due to perspective. Any char that's closer to the cam tends to look HUGE in screenshots.
