Those are nothing alike.
Dark Moon pushed the 3DS to the bursting point. Upscaled in HD with a higher framerate, anti-aliasing and improved lighting/shadows, it wouldn't seem out of place on the WiiU at all. The game has better animation and attention to detail than many full-blown console efforts.
There's no way that could all happen. It's just too much.

3D World uses 3D Land's concept & runs wild with it. It's by no means a re-release.
Plus 3D World is a much superior game to Land, & ranks as one of my favorite 3D Mario games of all time.

Is there some sort of consensus that we'll be seeing a Diddy/Dixie team-up? Diddy worked so well in Brawl, in my opinion, but I can see it happening if it worked like Zelda/Sheik. It would be the first time a character has been changed like that, if I remember correctly

Well, I kind of already knew there'd be another "unlocking" of the Monado after the one Zanza does at Prison Island, but I didn't know it'd turn into... that. I actually kind of don't mind that design, but the standard Monado looks much nicer IMO. And please don't elaborate, I don't want to know before I reach there myself. (Nearing what I think is the top of Mechonis Field, and am pretty obviously about to fight

I just can't help shaking the feeling that it is only going to be Diddy. They are trying to hype games coming out in the spring and I really don't think they would want to overshadow anything by releasing a full-on CG smash newcomer trailer like they would do if it was a newcomer and I don't know that Sakurai would hype the Direct if they weren't going to show anything smash so......Diddy and possibly some new gametypes or even just footage with an emphasis on some of the latest revealed characters.
