My dads friends uncle is from the future. He told me the Smash Bros trailer in the next Direct shows off the Kid Icarus stage with music from Uprising blaring in the background as Pit kicks ass. Than it shows off the model for Palutena! As an assist trophy! That is promptly blasted off screen by Ridley! Hurray bait n switch!

I'm starting to think it's not DK related at all. (My speculation from earlier)
I really think that Sakurai just submits a newcomer video for the next direct and that's it. He doesn't know the airing date.
Diddy was probably planned for tonight but the Direct derailed that since it would reveal two characters way too close to each other.
So THUS: Non-DK related Newcomer and a Diddy reveal around the NA/EU release

Diddy & Dixie team up would be great, as would be King K. Rool - I still remember him in the top 3 of an official poll after brawls release.
I'm also getting excited over the possibility of a pirate themed Donkey Kong map after DKC2, even if the probabilies are low.

That's true, but I feel like Luigi had the whole Year of Luigi thing going and Sonic was a special case because he's a third-party character.

Is the only reason people are expecting Diddy to be confirmed for the Direct because Tropical Freeze comes out in a week?
