Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U Thread 5: Yarning for Yoshi

holy fuck I just started the Direct

Sakurai has fucking done it again! FUCK YEEEEAAAAAHH SON

...totally going to main Mac. Even if he's the lowest of low tiers. Too fucking hype.

So if we get to throw in filters to this game I'll never stop playing.

The beginning with Samus and Mac, and that Comic filter was so good.

Now everything makes sense...

The Samus thing was a throwback to the Dojo:

As you can see, for the Little Mac AT they did the same joke.

Guess tonight's pic will probably be about Little Mac, maybe mentioning how the boxing ring is the Punch-Out stage.

It makes me wonder what happens to Diddy. Maybe he'll be a secret character this time around?

My God, the assist model was ugly as SIN!

Diddy next week for sure at this point... but now I'm actually kinda worried about Dixie...

Haha thought it was a new punch out for 3DS or Wii u but then I saw the smash sand bag and went D: B^)

Mac daddy up in this smash

Doc Louis will be a character too, watch

Holy fuck I'm sure this was already pointed out but after rewatching the trailer the boxing ring has the full Punch-Out theme.

Fucking amazing.

But SuperSah said it was absolutely going to be Diddy because someone from Retro said so and that no one should pay attention.
By the time the game comes out there'll be at least one character each individual person laid out a mini-thesis on as to why they wouldn't be there. At this point I'm probably going to be wrong about Dixie not being tag-teamed with Diddy for instance.

Hell despite the GAF leak (which I'm treating as legit now) people were arguing Mac was too 'western' or simplistic for Smash.

EDIT: I am way too fucking tired since I somehow read that as supersah being adamant for diddy not being in or something.

He appears to have super armour in some attacks, along with a Counter. He also seems to have amazing combo ability with great speed.

His jumping height seems lacking, and his recovery appears to be absolutely terrible. This balances things especially considering he's a pure boxing character (who should stay in the ring).

Yeah, he's gonna be crazy dangerous.

I thought the Direct was pretty awesome.
This reveal, MK8 trailer was cool, DKC TF footage made me have to change my pants, and Bayonetta 2 looks awesome.

Oh I enjoyed it too, but some people (serious or not) were expecting crazy stuff when Nintendo clearly stated it'll be about Spring Releases.

Little Mac in Smash, Koopalings/Grumble Volcano/Tick-Tock Clock/DK Jungle in MK8, and Steel Diver: Sub Wars made this Direct for me.

So now we can expect fake Wii U screens as we have the first clean look of the UI to copy into Photoshop. ;)

Ha ha, nice point.

Just based on that trailer, I'm guessing Doc Louis is going to be commenting during a mtach, while Little Mac remains mute. Hopefully it doesn't become grating choosing Little Mac.

The next Direct will show Ridley making fun of how short Samus is.

Haha.

And yeah, Mac looks great outside of recovery, which will probably help balance him. Ability to run under certain projectiles, and generous-looking amounts of super armor.

Plus the 1-hit KO punch will lead to hilarious results in some matches I'm sure.

I said that any newcomer other than Dixie would be a disappointment. But okay, you win, Sakurai. I still want my Kongs, though!

Mac looks just like my type of character. Hard-hitting, counter move, armor... He kinda looks like Ike but with quicker moves and shit recovery.

Little Mac looks amazing. I wonder if his Super Meter works like Roy's OHKO move? Charge up the punch, and if you charge it up all the way, it OHKOs the target.

It's a mechanic from the arcade and SNES games. You fill it by landing attacks, and maxing it out unlocks a powerful attack. Take a hit and you lose some of the meter. Almost certainly works the same way here, to reflect Punch-Out's emphasis on dodging.
