It's likely to get an Assist Trophy and a few regular trophies, but I don't think it's unreasonable for me to say that The Wonderful 101 is a really minor game. I'm not speaking to the quality of the game -- just that its place in Nintendo history is negligible. It has no mindshare whatsoever. Ice Climber has the "excuse" of being an early first-party title representing the NES (which has been re-released and referenced ad nauseam), and Mother developed into a three game series. TW101 just doesn't have any kind of weight.

So given that Sonic and Snake each only had one Assist Trophy from their own series in Brawl, who do you suppose we'll get for Mega Man's Assist Trophy (assuming there will be only one)? There are so many possibilities... Proto Man, Bass, Roll, Eddie, Tango, Beat, Dr. Wily, Duo, a Metall, or pretty much any especially-recognizable/popular Robot Master like Cut Man.
Personally I'm hoping we get a Proto Man alt costume for Mega Man, with the Assist Trophy going to Bass, Roll, or Beat. Beat could potentially be a pain in the ASS, chasing down and pestering opponents like the Metroid AT in Brawl...

I think Proto Man is the most likely Assist Trophy. Even though Bass is more of a rival to Mega Man in the vein of Gray Fox or Shadow, he didn't show up until Mega Man 7. Considering how the Smash Bros. Mega Man looks like his NES sprite and mostly uses old NES attacks, I think Proto Man makes more sense.
To be honest, I like the classic cherubic child Pit more than the anime teenager version.

Or, relegate the Standard B move to Unite Morph, where you can switch leaders by drawing the formations via either of the sticks. Up B can be Wonderful Rising, Down B can be Unite Guts (or Unite Tombstone in the air), & Side B can be the Wonderful Stinger. The rest of the A moves & grabs can be formation-specific.

There haven't been any sexual comments. Only two people said something about the look of Little Mac, even then they weren't anything bad.
It's not a super serious issue, but there have been a few comments since the reveal that, if they had been said about Palutena or Lucina or whatever, would have attracted *some* negative attention, I have no doubt.

Little Mac's amazing wardrobe changes during matches in the NES game is breathtaking. It is more seamless and spectacular than a Cher or Lady Gaga concert.

Also, if the Direct = Newcomer trend continues, then I expect Pac-Man in April and the Mii--and a release date--in June.
Part of me can see the Mii being revealed as "YOU join the fight!" or something cheesy like that.

I imagine Pac-Man and Mii would be held off for E3. Assuming it's set up the same way last year's E3 reveal was, the former will show up since he's a 'guest' character (expect the CHALLENGER APPROACHING sign to show up again like it did for Mega Man) and the other as a surprise gimmicky character after the show like WFT was right before the press gets a chance to finally play the game. I don't see them trying to hype up a conference full of people with just Mii and Pac-Man though.
Hence, that would leave who they'll have in Villager's place as the 'normal' newcomer. I would've said Little Mac before last week, and I can't really think of anyone else similarly big. Palutena might be too obscure for people at E3 to really know that well (I imagine she'll be shown off in the next Direct anyhow) and I still conflicted on how likely Ridley is.

I would be legitimately surprised if we don't see Diddy at the end of the week. I hadn't thought about your bolded statement before, but I think that makes total sense. It makes me wonder how much of these events are scheduled so as to coincide with one another. For example, maybe Sakurai originally wanted to reveal Diddy Kong on the Japanese release date of Tropical Freeze, but Iwata wanted to do a Direct, so they pushed back Diddy Kong's reveal until the US release date.

I mean, his source successfully "predicted" WFT, Mega Man and Villager before E3, and Little Mac (included in his initial leak) was recently revealed, so I think it's pretty safe to say he's the real deal. (That's why everyone is also taking Pac-Man and Mii--the two other characters in the initial leak--as confirmed.)
