Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U Thread 5: Yarning for Yoshi

Clean's already been posted, so I'll just say that people taking this as a deliberate reference to Ridley are reading way too much into this. It certainly means the "Ridley's too big" claims don't disconfirm Ridley outright, but not much more than that.

Sakurai's just keeping up the trolling game until the future inevitable reveal.

Soon my friend, SOON!
Always knew Ridley was a Rock Knight fan.

Chibi :(

I ain't even mad, that trailer looked AMAZING.

Website is down! (Forbidden)

What was it? Was it deleted?

EDIT: Never mind, it just worked for me.

You know, for a blog that likes to "debunk" stuff, they're really bad at it haha

1. The SalRomano thing. They didn't even do proper research for that.
2. The Palutena thing. She holds that strap in battle/movement.

Two basic things weren't brought up that would have debunked those "debunks".

While waluigi has primarily only been in the sports/party/kart games, I think he deserves to be his own character and NOT use moves from those games, but that's just me. I wish peach didn't have sports related attacks, but whatever.
My ideal Waluigi moveset would be almost entirely sports/party based. his basic attack would be the tennis racket, side special would be kart similar to Wario's bike, neutral special would be baseball bat, etc. Down special would be a stomp and recovery would be air swim, though.

I remember having this exact moveset except for Daisy a while ago. :lol

The final smash was a blue shell.

All I see in that link from Heath: "OMG GUYZ, YOU SEE THAT MODEL I'VE JUST STATED IS NOT RIPPED FROM BRAWL? NOT RIPPED FROM UPRISING EITHER [reasons] ;(

MUST BE FAKE ;("

The "missing" tassle just means she's using it to keep the grip of the shield because she's fighting. Besides, if they were going out of their way to make an entire model for a fake, I don't think they would overlook that detail.

That's embarrassing to the point of insult. Everyone should comment on that article. I can't stand blatant misinformation like that, especially when it's presented in such an arrogant manner.

I sent them in a "question" telling them that Palutena holds that tassel in her Brawl model from Pit's Final Smash.

That aside, they shouldn't be "debunking" anything based off of a premise like that. They're so certain of it, you'd think they did at least half and hours worth of image searching to find that that tassel is held by her in combat.

If anything, I'd be more skeptic if it DID have the tassel out of the shield.

Yup. That was my thought as well. When actually USING the shield, she holds on to it for extra support, but when standing there, there is no need to hold it. Similar to the grip on another shield:

I don't know how practical it is to use the tassle/rope thing as a grip, but, it's probably what she is doing.

They also claim that E3 leak's anonymous source was from Gematsu's Sal Romano 'prediction' post.
I like how he says Pac-man and Mii are most likely suggestions out there and ignores how unlikely guessing wii fit trainer, villager, and Megaman for a single reveal is.

they fail to mention at all that she could be holding the tassel.
this guy is hardly a good detective/analyst.

Wow that comment just makes me smile! Even if he isn't talking about Ridley, even if Ridley doesn't make it playable, I am just glad he said that. Any rational thinker came to that conclusion as far as Smash 64 but it's nice when it comes straight from the horses mouth.

So yeah, is he just making fun of relatively big argument in the Smash Bros community? Was it all just random talk considering the stage? Or maybe he really is hinting at someone thought to be too large for Smash. More than ever I think he is being sneaky about Ridley setting us up. That's just the kind of stuff he likes to do.

Jesus, the temptation to go higher than 50 characters is too much. Sorry, Captain Syrup/Krystal/Wonder Red! :( I wanted Lucina to be in her own slot since Fire Emblem could use a female rep not named Marth. To balance out all the Pokemon Gen I characters, I feel like Pokemon Trainer might upgrade to X/Y starters of Chespin, Braixen, and Greninja. I wanted to add Snake, but the Random slot is more important to Nintendo's history.

That detail right there just about ENTIRELY and UNDENIABLY blows the ‘leak’ immediately out of the water in and of itself.

I like that wording in describing the missing tassel, as if to say "There is no other possibility whatsoever for the missing tassel" I honestly think it's fake, but to hinge your argument on such a trivial detail like that in which there are screenshots of her holding the tassel is silly.

...actually, what is Mega Man's Final Smash? Has that been revealed and I just forgot?

(It better not be Hyper Mega Man)

No, it hasn't been revealed yet. I can't wait to find out!

I'm also hoping it's not Hyper Mega Man, but I don't think it will be given Sakurai's awesome, obsessive regard for canonical accuracy with Smash characters. My money's on a timed Super Mega Man (Mega Man 7) transformation with homing punches to KO fools, or maybe a screen-clearing special weapon like Astro Crush or Gravity Hold. It could also maybe be a giant, charged double Mega Buster blast, but that seems like it would be kinda similar to existing Final Smashes, like Samus' and Lucario's.

So many possibilities!

Yes, this is good. Side B should really be Mario Party related, though. Maybe throwing a Dice block that knocks people back more based on how high the number on the block is when it connects?

Or miscellaneously throwing sports equipment.
I think a joke version of a Luigi move is more fun, also kinda useful for returning to ground and combined with B up for recovery.
I guess he can throw sports equipments instead of bob-ombs for his B down, like a non-super version of this:

Although I still want him to occasionally explode himself :p
Also his A attacks should contain all sorts of sports/party equipment.

I think the air swim and the cyclone/twister thing are both a must since they appeared in multiple games.

Really? Could be Falco or even Wolf.

I'm still surprised absolutely nobody knew that it was Punch Out's anniversary the day Little Mac was revealed.

Friday will also mark the anniversary of when people remember that anniversary very rarely have an impact on who is revealed.

But...
We got Little Mac for the Punch-Out!! arcade anniversary...
I'm surprised that noone that I've seen anyway guessed we would get Little Mac this month. I guess everyone was too busy expecting Lanky Dixie Kong to notice?

Regarding the tassel thing with Palutena, has anyone noticed that in one of the shots (the one where you can see her whole shield), there's what looks like a very tiny white "notch" at the bottom of her shield? There's a possibility that's what connects the tassel to the shield and, as others have theorized, she's holding the tassel underneath the shield.

At the end of the way we don't really know more than we already did, but we can definitely be sure the site that tried to debunk it really didn't do any serious investigation.

EDIT: I suppose that "notch" could also be her fingers...

lmao, what a chump.
I really hope that both the leak from Sal and the Palutena leak turn out to be true just so we can rub it in his face.

A new Poirot he is not.

The tassel on the shield isn't make-or-break for this rumor. The difference between the statue and the player model is that the player model is going to move. This could merely be a mater of them cutting a minor animated element to save on time and horsepower.

This exactly what I thought, since it would be essentially another unneeded "bone" to animate.

I think I follow that blog on tumblr but the fact they disregarded the Wii Fit Trainer E3 leak made me chuckle when I first read it. Even moreso if that post and gematsu are written by the same user.
