Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U Thread 5: Yarning for Yoshi

And Pichu Bros is insulting to Plusle and Minum.

EDIT: First thing I read, "Diddy has a Dixie alternate skin".....NOP NOPPE NOPE NO

The Monster Hunter being there should have warned me to not read this.

That roster is absolutely terrible.

Anthony Higgs?
Henry?
Two Capcom characters?
Dixie as a Diddy costume? (What?)

And so on. Yeesh.

Also, no way that Nintendo will make more than one alternate for each character

....probably just for a few characters =P

Alternates will be, if anything, for characters that are actually selectable as either gender in their respective titles. So, Wii Fit Trainer, Animal Crossing Villager, Pokemon Trainer.

Guys, come on. Please don't fall into this category. I understand your reasons but don't overdo it.

Smash Boards as I referring to many forums that are solely for smash franchises like GameFaqs, IGN Smash forum, Smashboard, etc.

Too many people think that their opinions are the priority and it should overwrite any opinions that have been posted on the forum. They think it's okay to act out hostile or elitism to people who just want something different only because their opinions are way better than other people which is so annoying, but again that's normal for Internet. Internet accounts are anonymous so anyone can speak whatever they want without caring about the conclusions that could affect other people's feelings.

For example, people kept saying that the leaks are fake because Ridley or Waluigi aren't on the list or Takamaru, Palutena or Pac Man is being on list.; which isn't rational at all. No one can control the roster but Sakurai himself and the companies that would give out the rights to Sakurai to be allowed to included them in.

It's okay to dislike the characters, at long they don't trying to force it on other people or kept saying that they wouldn't be in the game because they just don't like to see them in the game. For example, there is no secret that I really loathe the idea of Bayonetta and Waluigi being playable characters in the Smash, but I wouldn't dare to force people to believe that they have no chance or even tell people that they are wrong to including them in the roster.

Since someone got bored and made pretty impressive concept arts of Smash Shoes.

I find it amusing that they're designing shoes based on a few characters that are habitually barefoot.

THERE IS ONLY ONE XENOBLADE SONG THAT HAS TO BE IN SMASH

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4vCEHpv6Hg

It would make for an incredible Smash song.
Let's just discuss how amazing Xenoblade is.

What stage would you want from Xenoblade? What music? Who would you want as an assist trophy?

I think Eryth Sea would make a great stage, you could have occasional meteor showers and it would be amazing.
I'm personally a fan of Unfinished Battle and Prologue B (love how the main theme pops in halfway <3)
Yup. This is probably the real reason I want a Xenoblade rep and/or stage: that soundtrack.

Dredging up an old post of mine:

I was thinking that if we get a Xenoblade stage (and even if we don't get a Xenoblade character we really have to have a Xenoblade stage), they'd pull something of a Mushroomy Kingdom. Basically, you'd have both Day and Night variations of certain tracks like "Gaur Plains" or "Colony 9" - and depending on what plays, the stage itself will change accordingly to the appropriate time of day. There would also be some of the battle themes (and "Engage the Enemy", despite being cutscene music) - during those, you'd get, say, a thunderstorm instead, or perhaps a sunset. So it's not exactly like Mushroomy Kingdom where you get an entirely different stage depending on the music randomly chosen, but that particular aspect of the stage would be tied to the music.
Eryth Sea could probably work as a stage. Admittedly it doesn't really get much in the way of thunderstorms (I suppose there was one during the Prison Island segment, but beyond that...), but Satorl Marsh night would go nicely with the shooting star rain.

Ideally, we'd have a stage based on Gaur Plains, because that's still probably the point of the game that I associate the most with Xenoblade as a whole - although I'm not entirely sure what the best way to set up a stage there would be while keeping the area's epic vista of a large green plain. Maybe just make an area heavily inspired by Gaur Plains, with the vast plains in the background, but clearly oriented the wrong way so you can still have the iconic image of the Mechonis looming in the background (since in-game, the Mechonis is to the north, but the plains span east/west). It'd be technically incorrect orientation, but it's not like Smash never took creative liberties to keep the spirit of what it's adapting alive. Besides, that would allow Sakurai and team to figure out a better way to orient the foreground geometry, ideally so there aren't any walk-off deaths. Gaur Plains doesn't have any floating platforms like Eryth Sea does, but you might be able to orient some of those arches that come out of the ground just right...

Other update for Smash Shoes

I come in here and see something about smash shoes

The Helix fossil as an item!

I just want another Fire Emblem char, Ike would be cool but if they bring his other design.

C´mon March! you can bring more veterans xD

the last thing besides the post you are commenting on i posted in this thread was an explanation for the Pichu Brothers.

You could not have just linked me to the post or just said it again? Was that too much work?

I looked at your post and although it's an interesting idea, you still didn't answer the relevancy part. Heartgold and Soulsilver came out four years ago, and the Pichu Bros. in the anime haven't shown up in the anime recently either as far as I've known for awhile. At least with Jigglypuff, she's been in every game so there's that constancy to expect. With Lucario and Mewtwo, they just got Mega Evolutions. However, with Pichu, I just don't know.

Here's the post for those of us who don't want to wade through someone's post history.

How would you seriously respond to these newcomers individually?

Daisy (Mario franchise)
Muddy Mole (Mole Mania)
Subspace Primid (SSB Brawl)
Midna (Twilight Princess)
Slippy Toad (Starfox)

Eh.
Interesting.
No thanks, SSE has to be buried.
Fuck no.
At least it's not Krystal.

Daisy (Mario franchise) E-ExcUSE ME? Of all the other Mario characters, you pick her? Who even cares about this chick? (No offense, Daisy fans :P)
Muddy Mole (Mole Mania) Oh... uh. Sure?
Subspace Primid (SSB Brawl) What the fuck? WHY???
Midna (Twilight Princess) Would've preferred Tingle... or even Tetra/Toon Zelda. I'll learn to like it, I guess.
Slippy Toad (Starfox) Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Reactions in booold.

sorry no falcon today

Now for some follow up questions:

Have you ever hit a Ganon up tilt?

Should Ganon keep his crazy slow/powerful up tilt in Smash 4, or should they change it up?

How would you seriously respond to these newcomers individually?

Daisy (Mario franchise) - Wasted spot, she's a Peach clone.
Muddy Mole (Mole Mania) - Wasted spot, would rather have Mr. Risetti
Subspace Primid (SSB Brawl) - Wasted spot, don't even remember him but he's still a wasted spot.
Midna (Twilight Princess) - Excitement.
Slippy Toad (Starfox) - My new punching bag.

.

Mega Man is done, so two more characters to go.

It's extremely rare for me to land ganon's up tilt if someone pushed them into my range.

Daisy-I could actually see her being unique. They could make her sportier, less floaty ,faster,no toad, different recovery. Could be interesting.
Muddy mole-sure but why?
Subspace primid-NO
Midna- Yes could be a cool dual character/ imp/true form
Slippy toad- please no

I think the Peach color-swap is plenty.

No thanks.

I would consider not buying the game

Could be pretty awesome. I'm open to the idea.

Eh, sure, as long as he has his own moveset.

I just think Ganondorf needs a serious redesign. Sakurai makes a big deal about wanting to represent the characters well, and yet here we are with Captain Ganondorf. I completely understand why Ganondorf was based off of Falcon in Melee -- he was a last minute clone. But that was 13 years ago.

I agree with Sakurai's character depictions for the most part (even WarioWare Wario), but the Ganondorf situation is just completely indefensible. Captain Falcon's move set is inspired by tokusatsu, and he has a lot of flashy superhero kicks and punches. None of that makes any sense for Ganondorf. Only his side special, Final Smash, and a few weak attacks fit him well.

You have some good ideas and I pretty much agree with what you said. I anticipate a XB stage would just be based off of this singular image:

It's probably the most iconic image of the game, and like you said, Sakurai could take some liberties with the Mechonis in the background or something.
