"Infinite" combo attacks now have finishing strikes! (no longer infinite, then?)

Eh....at least its new info on some character moves.

Kirby
Fox
and Pit are the only ones with those kind of moves for now right? The ones revealed anyways.

Huh, alright then. So I guess holding down A to repeatedly do your standard attack is gone.

That was fun for the ride. Got worried there for a sec. Now SLEEEEEEP.

Edit: But what about Little Mac's flurry of jabs?!?!?!

The tweaks keep on coming.

Idk if im ok with this change or not, specifically hi using fox for this pic conflicts me, I guess I have to use it myself to see if im ok with it.

I found that a lot of infinites in brawl animated weirdly and felt kinda weird and broken due to that, finishing up with a strong final attack will feel a lot more satisfying to me personally.

Made a list that should help us know who this affects

Shiek
Meta Knight (I think )

Nooooo, Kirrrbbbbyyyyyy!

Ooh, I wonder if his finishing move will be Fighter's strong punch?

EDIT: Anyone think that stages with walls will be viable in tournaments now? Or was there another reason?

In Mac's trailer, he indeed does a jab flurry into a uppercut. Against fox I believe.

I thought it would be a thing for just him but I see that everyone is getting that treatment. Very pleased. If only that it refreshes an old character just a little bit.

I was never a fan of infinite attacks, so I'm ok with this.

EDIT: Thinking about it, it was kinda ridiculous in Brawl when you held down the A button and the infinite attacking characters would furiously loop in that first attack. I couldn't believe they allowed that. It looked so amateur.

Wow, this is actually a really interesting change from Brawl. I really get the feeling this game is going to have us play much more closer to the stage's edges. I think Brawl's more air based gameplay made KO's happen way above the ground or jus being direct smash hits/grabs. But with regular attack secuences having a mandatory finisher that probably pushes the rival(s) sideways in mos cases I think we'll spend more time on the farther sides. This makes the new edge grab mechanics much more important now, probably one of the more crucial aspects or the game. Really excited to play this and see for myself how all this new stuff plays.

Oh no, Kirby. I forgot all about him. I wonder what it'll be.

And I'm not really sure if I even want to know what Mr. G&W's finisher will be...

Agreed... The removal of tripping + the new ledge mechanics + the buffs certain characters seem to be receiving + tonight's update make it pretty clear that game design choices are all revolving around creating a much more dynamic/balanced product than Brawl. And that doesn't even include the fact that the game seems much more sped up and combo-friendly than Brawl as well.

The game is looking good... I'm excited!
As someone said on smashboards, theres just been a ton of gameplay changes that sakurai is telling us about, its very exciting stuff.

As long as there's no fucking tripping, it's noticeably faster than Brawl and there's nothing remotely as broken as Meta Knight, I'm cool.

Dunno if that'll be enough for the fighting game crowd though, especially if Nintendo keeps giving the cold-shoulder to events that want to host Melee games.
