I'm almost certain it caps at 500 coins though. That's enough to buy a trophy or ramp it up a tad in classic, so don't think you can just farm coins until launch.
Bah. If so, I should have figured. Oh well.

Should metal bats be allowed in the MLB?Why not? They provide variety. Variety should be key to these things.
But then again, I don't get competitive Smash. Often people turn off the things that make the game fun.
In my eyes, both for Pokémon and Smash, if it's coded into the game, it should be allowed & used. Simple as that.
So I managed to get the demo from a friend of mine and I finally stopped playing it for several hours. SEVERAL HOURS!
This game! It's so good, and so promising for Competitive metagame. So far my fav is Link with Mario a close 2nd. Megaman is 3rd, I gotta work on him more.
The controls were wonky at first, but after about 20-30 mins I got used to them. I have to switch L for shield and R for grab though, that is kinda maddening.
3 weeks GAF, 3 weeks.

You mean they will only allow you to transfer 500 coins to the final game? That kind of sucks. I've got well over 1000 right now in the demo.I'm almost certain it caps at 500 coins though. This is something I notice about a lot of communities for competitive games. A lot of people don't see games (in this case Smash) as a game, but more as a technical experience that they have to refine. Playing for fun is just not an option to some people. I've seen this in some of my friends. "Items ruin the game." or "Pretty much all the levels that aren't Final Destination/Battlefield shouldn't be in the game." (Actual argument's I've seen.) Arguments like that make sense from a competitive standpoint, but it's unfair to generalize the entire game like that.I really struggle to understand why you seem to make a distinction between "legitimate play" and how people have fun with the game. Your post suggests there's a "right way" to play Smash. You know some people like playing with their friends and family online or in person and don't care about tournaments or any perceived "legitimate play". Smash as a franchise serves more than just you or tournament players. Custom move sets bring a lot of depth and, obviously, customization to people who want to explore and invest in all those options. It's not useless or detrimental.
Could you elaborate? I main Marth, so I'm interested in hearing more about Lucina.
Care to elaborate?
or is this sarcasm
You can't just say this and not post details, this is one of the things I am most curious about as a Marth user.
Unless you are being sarcastic. Lucina's damage output looked pretty good in the stream I saw though.
I have 3021g.I'm almost certain it caps at 500 coins though. That's enough to buy a trophy or ramp it up a tad in classic, so don't think you can just farm coins until launch.

This is the core of the problem though. I would rather have a tightly designed experience that utilizes variables inside the game to create interesting experiences. Custom movesets, on the other hand, ask users to fix what is obviously broken through a convoluted means of falsified individuality. The competitive scene has already talked a lot about how more move variety makes more characters potentially viable, since you can replace mediocre attacks with better ones.
Now you have piqued my interest in custom moves.Custom moves Ganondorf plays like Project M Ganondorf and is really, really good and fun to play as. That is all.
-If you own both you can use your 3DS as a controller on the Wii USo i did not really follow much news for the 3DS version of smash bros but..... i have a WiiU and a 3ds, (now i dont have much commute time so i dont play my 3DS very regular) is there any sort of advantage to having both versions? or do people recommend me waiting for the WiiU version.
You're confusing custom moves for character gear. Character gear is inherently randomized and unbalanced, and would not be allowed at tournaments.
Custom moves are just options for different ways to attack.
A more apt comparison would be a pitcher opting to use a curveball instead of pitching straight.
To me, it seems more like preference than individuality. If I like one of these custom moves better than the default move, I'll pick it. Another person may like the default better, so they'll keep default. This is the core of the problem though. My current Ganon setup:
+Speed 21 -Attack 14
Custom Up B that doesn't hug but instead has a knee-like sweetspot
Custom Standard B that has better range, is slightly quicker, albeit less powerful, and has fucking super armor.
Custom Side B that's quick, great for recovery, eats through shield, and has decent knock back
Custom Down B that goes further on ground, and meteor smashes/spikes (donno which) in air.
It's really, really good. Not exactly like project m in function, but definitely in purpose. It's a hard hitting, fairly speeding, great at entering any situation machine.
Loving the Demo so far, Link is beyond awesome, auto cancelable Dair with double jump is boss, dtilt still does a spike, but it's hitbox is almost the same as brawl, no turn around arrows, jump cancelable bomb throws still in, so far I haven't been able to perform a bomb jump, thou bombs explot sooner(I guess?) his recovery dosen't suck like brawl, and his KO power is quite good, ftilt is awesome
best Link ever, finally Sakurai, it seems you finally got him right, or at least he won't suck as much

Smash Run powers.I don't get the prizes in Smash Run. When I am collecting the bags in the game, do I get all of them, or do I only get to pick one at the end? What are the "?" bags?
Where can you check your gold?I have 3021g.
Oh man, this sounds really interesting. If you can can you record a match of this moveset? I don't mind if it's like your Ganon Up-B video, I just wanna see it in action!
Where can you check your gold?
Whoa thanks! It appears in the Vault section! 1045g and counting
Worth noting that i just discovered the super armor is on the normal version of it too, but we're streaming at hitbox.tv/makai if you wanna see some of this in action!
Ok, now that you have all had this a little while, does the game have any form of voice chat while playing online with friends or with others? I have asked a couple times and seen no answer.

I've got 4438g so far
Hope it can all transfer.
No, unless I missed it while playing last night

This is highly dissapointing news
Even if he's better, I don't think I'll ever be able to play Link well, haha.
I always get easy KOs with when I'm up-and-close. That's it, really.
Great news! I didn't watch the Treehouse stream so I didn't know.Treehouse stream confirmed it WILL transfer, you're in luck!
I can only see custom moves being banned in tournament if some moves are stupid overpowered or if it's too much of a hassle to set them up.
It's difficult to connect but it kills.Seems like villagers side smash is the worst ever, damn
