Super Smash Bros. for 3DS |OT3| Little Mac and Cheese

Oh man, the one thing that really grinds my gears is when I accidentally SD early on with a botched recovery, when I basically donate a stock to my opponent through sheer clumsiness, and they taunt.

OH NO YOU DIDN'T

Although, in the event that you come back and take them from 2 stocks to 0, victory is never sweeter.

There's nothing quite like the feeling of using PK Thunder 2 straight into the wall and bouncing away.

I do this with Bowser. That down taunt is too good to pass up sometimes!

I had one opponent that I taunted every single time I hit him off the ledge. I didn't even bother to ledge guard. I just taunted until he got back to me, and then hit him off again. :-D He stuck around, though, so I stopped doing it - he earned my respect.

There's nothing quite like the feeling of using PK Thunder 2 straight into the wall and bouncing away.
This is the fate of every Ness player while trying to recover through Bowser's Fire Breath.

My Mega Man game quality is so erratic. Some days, I'll be up-airing Sheiks into the stratosphere and gimping Cap's assaults with very little effort. Then, there are other days, like last night, when a sleepy Dedede managed victory from the comfort of the edge by playing the most defensive game I've ever seen.

Anyone else get absolutely stymied by stubbornly defensive players? I feel like trash when I lose like that.

I feel pretty much like that whenever I play against a good Link. Have to be really careful to get in at all, and when I do make it that far I usually get jabbed or grabbed. I also ended up playing against MVD's Duck Hunt in a tournament... needless to say, it was far from turning out well for me. Zoning in general is frustrating to deal with yeah. You just have to keep a cool head I guess, and pay attention to what they're punishing you for and where you opportunities are.

With variations in play quality, I usually chalk it up more to how good my opponents are. My proficiency does vary, but not as much as the skill levels of different opponents I play against.

Yeah, sometimes it's hard to gauge how good a camping opponent is versus how fragile my composure is. This Dedede was the definition of a minimalist player, but I think he might have just had an excellent idea of economy and opportunity cost. Even when I play Link, I use my projectiles to aid my approach or gimp my opponent's, but they're a means to an end and not the end itself. This Dedede just kinda... stood there and waited. He had good reflexes, though.

Wii Fit Trainer is so weird. Her f tilt is an up tilt. Her f air is a d air. Her neutral A hits both ways. It's madness

Best feeling is struggling against an opponent early on the first few matches, and slowly but surely dismantling their play style until you are completely dominating the matches.

Hey man lets play later. I will show you some things with DK you may or may not be aware of.

Might have to take you up on that offer when I can and probably get schooled but it would be the most glorious schooling of all if you can show me things that make him bigger, faster and stronger to.

It won't be a match match but more of, I show you something and you try to copy me.

I do agree though Bowser was blessed with almost everything I could wish for DK. DK has a few things over Bowser but not enough. I main both so I know... :(

Completed Classic 9.0 with every character without equipment.

Just need 1 more headgear, and I'm done with single-player.

I have a few rules with Taunts...

1) If I kill you ... I will taunt. For sure. Unless its this extremely tight even fight. But generally those are rare... so I auto taunt (Lugi's up taunt is beautiful).
2) When the match is over and I won, while you are dying I will taunt so when the camera zooms in you either see Lugi's laughing pose, his ass or his "scared" face.
3) If I SD like a stupid idiot I will use the down taunt where he kicks the ground.
4) If either of us does something stupid I will do the side taunt where he falls erect :)O) into the ground.

Also, if you are struggling against me and SD I will probably SD so we can have a closer match. *shrugs* Nice like that :p

The Smash Bros. theme is playing on my eshop menu. Is this a glitch?

Seriously does anyone have an explanation for this?

I only really taunt with Captain Falcon, and only when I get an epic KO (Dair spike, perfect knee, or Pawnch).

On the topic of the Dorf...Patientdorf is amazing. The panic they have when they're at the edge and the Dorf is slowly approaching. It's soul enriching.

I can't help but think this game's lack of communication would be something of a hurdle here.

I really have a struggle against Ganondorf for some reason.

For lack of a better term I find him kind of deceptive, it's easy to forget at first when you haven't fought him for a while that chasing him into the air will likely end with a wizards foot in your face and off stage attacks carrying the risk of Ganoncide really deters me from following up.
One thing that really keeps catching me is his front smash has decent range, not only on the front but also the back of it can clip you if you go to roll past it, scary damage output as well meaning that only three good hits can have you reeling.
I'm not sure if he's a particularly good character or anything in the grand scheme of things but maybe a little underestimated.

He's really good. I think the main problem I have against Ganondorf is that I can accumulate a lot of damage but can't seem to hit that smash enough to gimp him or just send him to the blast zones. While a few hits from him really hurt and even his tilts and specials can kill. It's also not helping that I'm using Megaman, who's easy to punish when a smash attack misses.

Everything he does outside of his jab and ftilt is slow and punishable. Dash in followed by a roll out a lot. His d.B can punish rolls, so if he starts to catch on, bait the kick by dashing in and shielding. If he starts to grab, go back to dashing out. It will take a long time for either of these moves to kill you, so it's okay if you get hit a few times in the gambit. If he corners you, jump over him and try to get away. He is too slow to chase you reliably.

Awww, they nerfed the Ganoncide.

Before you could do it near the edge of the stage. Now you can only do it with the enemy literally on the edge. They basically nerfed the horizontal movement of his Side B in the air once he grabs someone.

Yeah. Using a speedy character like Marth really helps against him as his attacks as much less punishable when compared to Megaman's. But I'm also against some really great Ganon mains so they are really good against exploiting those end lags from Megaman's smashes. Maybe I'll try to counterpick using a speedy character when matched up against Ganon.

Dunno if anyone cares, but the guys over at HCS64 have updated vgmstream (video game music format streaming for foobar and winamp) to support music files ripped directly from 3DS and Wii U games.

I've just got hold of the soundtrack files for a few games I own: DKC:TF, Mario 3D World, Link Between Worlds, Fire Emblem. They are all fantastic, and far superior to any other versions out there...which is kinda predictable considering these are the real deal.

Smash Bros' audio folder has been extracted too now. So if you want a lossless, flawless version of the soundtrack there is always that option.

At least now you can trust it give you the win when you use it on last stocks. That was my biggest gripe about it in Brawl.

That's not really what Karsticles was saying. Speedy characters are less punishable in general - this isn't Ganon specific. Against a decent Dorf, it doesn't matter how fast you are. Unless you learn how to bait him and/or punish him when he overreaches, you will get wrecked.

I was thinking Project M Ganondorf, but I guess that's a plus over Brawl.

Why does Palutena's auto reticle target Olimar's pikmin and not him? why does the reflect barrier not actually reflect the Pikmin? why?

Yeah I do get that. That's why it's much easier to do them using somebody with a little more speed and with attacks that are less punishable especially with tilts and smashes. Ganon is a character that can easily punish opponents with high damage and ridiculous launch power, so using a character that can easily dodge or shield after an attack is a better matchup against Ganon. Tried that by switching from Megaman to Marth and after a string of losses against Ganon (same player) I won 3 straight (it also helps that tippers can be a cheap kill sometimes :p). Just noticed that he has less openings for Ganon to really exploit.

I donno if anyone's done this, so sorry if old. But I got bored and made the classic mode map from the in-game textures:

There's a pretty kick-ass easter egg in it that I don't think is visible in-game.. Let's see if you guys can find it :p.

So I found an interesting glitch in Classic regarding using customized characters in Classic.

If you select a custom set for a character, then turn off customization, you won't be able to use custom equipment/movesets in Classic, which makes sense except for the last event. If you get to Master Hand/Crazy Hand, you'll see that you have your customization.

So you can go through Classic without customization until you face Master Hand (or whoever you face in whatever difficulty you chose) if you do this.

No need for speed. My strategy is done with Bowser just fine.

Very good games, Con! Was a lot of fun.

Sorry I forgot your name, but does the dude with the Rei avatar still want to play? If so, post your code for me, please. I'm on mobile.
