I'm watching these right now. I think this game definitely will be a blast for singles after a few minor tweaks and some polish. Not quite as combo-heavy as Melee, but some really rewarding punishes.

Was prepping for the Smash Fest tomorrow by playing a couple of Brawl CPU matches and went a round with Lucas.
My Mother bias aside, the character is such a blast to play. There's really nothing like dashing into a crowd with his Up Smash (such havoc!) and I dig the impact of his aerials. And dat PK Thunder. I'd hate to see him cut.

i feel for ya dood i really loved lucas and his smash attacks i remember when me and my friends play with him or ganondorf we always hype when the attacks connect
im really hoping things panned out and he's still inafter seeing items i can kinda see some really hype moments the home run double ko in the celebrity match in the invitational was super hype but maybe its just me :T

I have fun creating character movesets (something that's frowned upon here I feel since it's sort of fan-ficcy), but even then people on Smashboards take that too seriously.

Guess it's supposed to represent it "flipping", although I was honestly hoping it could switch the camera upside down, but perhaps that'd be too OP for a non-Legendary.

is palkia a pokeball pokemon this time around? if so i wonder if his flipping is coming back ( irecall seeing a pokemon turning a stage upside in the april direct maybe im remebering wrong)

I'm dead serious. It was the only place where you could witness Bowser and Ganondorf recruiting the likes of Triple H, Mr. Burns and Freeza as they squared off against The Scorpion King (the 300,000,000 power level transformation of The Rock, one of the fifty hand-chosen Smashers) where meanwhile you could jump into another topic and bam. You'd find yourself reading about the Earthbound kids regularly being stomped by a sentient magical hemorrhoid.
Edit: And that's not even getting into the hilarious NSFW products of the 2001 Spam Wars. That board was rad.

The pessimism comes from actually playing the game. I understand how people can be dismissive of other people opinions for a game they haven't played yet but the smash-fest demo I played didn't bum me out because I wanted it to. Please don't brush away discussion with "for some reason".
Man that bullet bill really disorients people hahaha. I never got a chance to use it when I played.

Lucas was my Brawl main and I hope he comes back but he isn't going to. Smash hates me and always nerfs my mains so now that my main is rumoured to be cut he is gonna be cut.
RIP Lucas and sorry in advance that Mega Man won't be in any more Smash games.

Still not 100% on board with things being finalized as far as the Gematsu leak goes. I'm still harboring doubts about cuts and such.
I just think there's more to the story.
Also I truly don't think Lucas has anything to be worried about. Ivysaur and Squirtly are 50/50 for me, and Snake is reeeeeally iffy, but I just don't like putting all my eggs in one basket, so to speak.

Latest Gematsu leak said that there was internal debate as to which Mother kid should stay. Lucas is the one the source said was likely to be ousted.
I still don't buy it. If memory serves the leaker got information a long time ago and it's rather old, which would make sense, because if the game is only 3 months out (3DS version), it'd be odd that these things hadn't been decided for final.
