Hitting your green shell without the guy with the Japan flag actually slowing down from it. Those things. That stuff doesn't work with fighting games (I heard Killer Instinct implemented something similar though?).

We saw two new alts on Wednesday, too. I guess that's only two days, though...huh. Seems like we've had a lot more this week. I guess it's because both days each had two alts/palette swaps.

You think the reason we haven't seen a new Donkey Kong Stage yet is because Sakurai is using Tropical Freeze, and had to wait a bit for the actual game to be finished to draw the stage from? Perhaps the lack of Kirby and Yoshi Stages may be also due to him waiting for Triple Deluxe/New Island to draw from them?
I'm not sure how long it takes to do that though...I figure there's probably a "buffer" set up.

Yeah, but those were midweek updates. This is Friday, so we're guaranteed to get something big and not-nothing! It's a well-established pattern that Friday updates are megatons

By this point, though, if the stages aren't all done, Sakurai and his team are in big trouble. Didn't they say at E3 that they're basically in the debug phase now? So even if all the kinks aren't worked out, all the stages should at least be good enough to show in a PotD. Maybe he just doesn't want to reveal those stages; we know Sakurai wasn't too pleased with how much info he ended revealing on the Brawl dojo.

Pic of the day. Pac-Maze is a stage exclusive to the 3DS version, created in the Pac-Man motif. If you eat 100 Pac-Dots, Power Pellets will appear in your color.
If you eat a Power Pellet, the monsters will become vulnerable and you can defeat them just by touching them. An important point is that the monsters will become vulnerable only on your screen, which means that they can still damage your opponents!! This is one of the unique game features only possible in the 3DS version.
