I'M FINISHED!
Um exCUSE me Sakurai but CLEARLY the best choice for Smash Bros would be my fav niche character HOWEVER you are clearly INCOMPETENT and
Wario's moveset should be based on Wario's Woods.
It doesn't count unless it fulfils your exact criteria?
A Smash player who had never played WarioWare would have no concept of what WarioWare is like, which I feel is more true with Wario than most other characters in the game.
Don't forget his iconic ability to dump buckets over people's heads.Wario's moveset should be based on Wario's Woods.
And what characters tell me what there respective games are like? I did not play Marth in melee and say of this guy must be from a turn based tactical RPG, or this Falcon guy must be a futuristic race car driver. A character in a fighting game wont tell me how a character works in another genera.
But Wario isn't defined by what he does in the WarioWare cutscenes. If we were running along those lines, Wario would be themed around greed. Every stage you play of his is based around "anything goes." Unlike Kat & Ana's theme of ninja stuff and Ashley's theme of magic, Wario's is "everything." Pac-Man doesn't summon ghosts to do attacks, but he does in Smash because it makes him more interesting mechanically and thematically. A snot whip is more interesting than a lot of what he does. Further, there's no reason to believe that Sakurai feels that the length of the microgames should preclude them from being acknowledged in his moveset. And considering that he has demonstrated the bizarre ability to enter technology when the scene called for it, it makes perfect sense that he would have access to elements from the video games made.
Also, Mario says mama mia and likes pasta. Mario's Italian.
While the move is obviously in reference to Wario Land, how it's implemented in-game doesn't make it the shoulder dash/bash/tackle/whatever, much like Samus's Fusion suit colors don't really make her suit a Fusion suit.
Wario
Captain Falcon
Marth
One of these characters is not like the other. One of these characters isn't very limited to what he can do.
Wario has tons of things that he can do to show off his series, while Falcon and Marth are doing everything they do in their series (and things they don't do).
Don't forget his iconic ability to dump buckets over people's heads.
I mained Wario in Brawl and I agree his implementation was weird and should get a similar re-haul like Bowser/Pit are getting.
Wasn't it implied they were born in Mushroom Kingdom?
I know greed =/= glutton, but I thought his gluttony was part of his greed (hence why there's a minigame about him losing weight). And technically the ninja/magic "theme" of Ashley and Kat Ana are just backfrops, the minigames themselves don't match it. In fact, I think only 9 Volt games have a theme (being Nintendo microgames).
Also I'd argue that Falcon's shtick is pretty much just invented for Smash since he wasn't defined at all but just Mr. Racing Guy back then.
This is the best post of the past 4 pages. Are people actually arguing over a guy whose first appearance was the boss of the alien Tatanga (Who does as he pleases), was a three phase boss battle in a Mario Gameboy Game, who then went on to have a successful solo career, who then retired to a micro games mascot with his fat stacks of cash? Ya know what, with that kind of rocketship to super fame from being a literal Bizaro Mario...His wafts should in fact be able to propel him much like his push for Nintendo Summer Slam. If the man wants to fart, then by the gods let that man rake the heavens with his hat. If he doesn't wanna blow out his arm ramming a turtle dragon with the full force of his bull hat (that he left at home, mind you) that's his business. You get the charge as beast mode Wario Man. He's gotta get his fatass in the mood with garlic first.
Ganondorf flat out needs a new moveset, not a visual-overhaul that brings him more in-line with their game appearances while having a few moveset adjustments, which is what Pit and Bowser are getting. Wario just needs a better implementation of his shoulder barge (personally I'd swap his neutral B with his side-Smash, maybe gimp the Wario Bike slightly so he doesn't have too insane range) and some more fluid animation that helps him fit in better with everyone else.If there is only one other character that gets the Bowser treatment it better be Ganondorf. Wario's WareLand moveset doesn't really bother me.

A reference I personally feel doesn't come across very well at all, especially when bigger and instantly more recognizable visual references (like the cel-shading for Toon Link) are omitted from their Smash incarnations. But that's part of the Wario Ware reference.
Wario's moveset should really be on Mona. Mona chomping, Mona and her scooter, Mona corkscrew, Mona fart, and Mona-Man

Eh, I really the bike though and unlike the bite move it actually is a legit wario ware reference. If he gets changed a bit to be more like his Land-incarnation, I don't want them to remove the actual Ware-stuff from his moveset. The fart's also a really clever idea function-wise and doesn't clash with how he is in Land/Ware either.Solution: If Wario wears his classic alt outfit, Side B motorcycle turns into his running dash.
But in all seriousness Sakurai could just add that into editable special moves. Sure, they generally just change properties but come on now, Wario is "special" according to Sakurai.
Hell I think you could pretty feasibly re-animate his current batch of standard moves to involve a sword/trident and that'd already be a million times better than what we have, though I'm hoping his comments about not wanting to annoy fans of Ganondorf in Melee doesn't really apply anymore after the bigger veterans rehauls we've seen so far.Maybe I'm just being too much of a pessimist regarding Ganondorf's chances, he most definitely deserves a new moveset, I'll just take whatever I can get at this point.

Is Samus getting turned on by Ridley's outcry?
Anyway, here's a better topic.
Great Tiger playable, y/y?
Did Nabbit show up in any of the e3 videos?
Surely it should turn into his purple car?

Do we know much about the online mode?
Could my friend and I play two randoms easily?
No.
I am a massive fan of his moveset, I'd be really disappointed if his electrical dair, fair punch, the back air, his "get the fuck out of my face" jab, the choke slam, warlock punch and wizard foot were just removed from the game forever. Captain Falcon isn't a good enough replacement because his play style is completely different, Ganondorf's playstyle feels right, regardless of whether his moves reference his character enough or not.
The only move I wouldn't mind being changed is his recovery, they should also make it so aerial wizard foot refreshes his second jump again as well.
Not to mention current Ganondorf is one of Sakurai's favourite characters, I doubt he's going to get much of a rehaul thankfully.
Is this allowed? I don't see the point of an avatar bet if you can just drop out. Not feeling so confident about Snake anymore?Beelzebufo wern't you the guy that was setting up an avatar bet with me?
If so I don't want to do that any more. You're so annoying that it's not even fun. I don't want to hear your objective bitching once you have to change your avatar.
And Brawl > Melee cause Snake. Objectively objectively objectively. Objectively.
I'd like to see the special moves replaced, outside of the side B. They really made that one cool and appealing in Brawl (I can't remember, was it unblockable there too? If not it should be). It'd be cool if he had a better recovery option though.Welp, ban #2, I'm assuming it's 3 bans and you're perma'd right? Probably going to be gone before smash 4 even releases then.
No.

Lesson learned: SmashGAF goes more insane after awhile with no meaningful updates

That's not what happened lol, I jumped on it first both times. You even first started the bet when responding to my post. You'd just be dropping out, which makes me think you're not so confident anymoreWreck-It Ralph accepted it first anyway and initiated it. You just kind of jumped in. No changes in Snake doubts though.
The dream ended before I got to play though.
