Super Smash Bros for Wii U/3DS Developer Roundtable [over]

Dojo is down, probably being updated.

12 Special variations is a lot less impressive when you consider most, if not all, of them are merely adjustments to move properties. We've already seen all three of Mario's Fireballs, for instance.

All of Palutena's variants are unique, thus explaining the footage today with all the moves.

Why the hell wouldn't they announce that on a live stream?

They went for the safe reveal at a small press conference, rather than the possibility of the tournament completely imploding.

Dumb mistake, but Nintendo's prone to make little errors like this.

But what about the design of Pacman?? Is it the classic retro look right? Not the modern they have been using otherwise #RIOT

12 special variations for each mii = 3 for each special move.

Let's say we have 40 characters.

3 x 3 x 3 x 3 = 3^4 = 81 possible combinations for a single character.

81 x 40 = 3240.

Essentially, we'll have 3240 different characters.

WELP.

"Palutena is different. she has unique special attacks; not derivative"

There you go ;)

The unlockable excuse is stupid, I'm pretty sure characters like Toon Link and Greninja are unlockable and yet they have been shown already

I was wondering if Namco was going to bring more customization like they do for their own fighters, so glad to see it happening.

I hope this means Link can use different items for his specials. At the very least I want to get rid of the gale boomerang if I play as him :P
