Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS Thread 2: Where Pilotwings is apparently Minecraft

It does matter. Mobility is huuuuge in Brawl(Sonic is a mid tier despite being one of the worst in theory. Purely because of how mobility grants him amazing options)

A normal scenario in the air is weaving in and out while occasionally attacking. If your mobility is great, you can back off after whiffing a move without getting punished. Those with lesser-than-great mobility cannot.
Having a big, fast, disjointed, transcended hitbox is obviously going to help a lot, but I'm just stating that it wouldn't be an obvious winner in such a scenario(Especially if you start thinking about projectiles. Transcended priority cannot stop them because it completely ignores them)
My point was he can still keep them at bay because there isn't very many safe opportunities to attack MK in the air. Heck all he need to do is neutral B to shut down most air games.
Regardless Metaknight wont take them on in the air if he doesn't have to (beyond the typical short hop Dair) and when he does its off the stage where he clearly wins

I actually just came into this thread to find out if Sheikla was in or not. I assume this (combined with the information in the OP) means she hasn't been revealed yet.

If it's your only reason to come in thread then I would suggest you to wait until Nov 22 since I'm pretty sure that they would reveal Zelda for Zelda 3DS release date.

Oh hey totally missed the Toon Link announcement, my main makes a unexpected comeback!

Looks like all characters other than maybe Snake will return

I really hope that we would get 39 characters from Brawl and 2 characters from Melee coming back with 14 newcomers but hey i'm sure that it might be unrealistic right?

If the dev time that went toward subspace just goes into character creation, we'll be fine :)

Then again, I'd rather that dev time go into online play instead, but i'll be happy either way.

Think they were trying to show off Toon Links Sword and Shield detail. Nice pic non the less.

I am somewhat worried were gonna be in a drought of information since we got so many veterans reveals in such short time.....OCT 12 COME BY FASTER DAMNIT!

Well, it's not my only reason. I play several hours of Melee every week so I am very interested in the game itself. I've just learned from Brawl that there's nothing they can say or do before the game releases that will affect my level of interest short of announcing Sheikla.

Man, I remember when Sonic was first shown for Brawl, the next day at school we didn't stop talking about it and I'm pretty sure Sonic took down a bunch of Smash forums at the time.

Kind of funny he was shown this time with a 10 second trailer, some screenshots and basically "ah, that's neat"

I guess it's the veteran effect, but then again, I don't really see such a reaction ever happening for Smash Bros again unless they pull Crash out as a character or something bizarre like that.

Incidentally, that neutral B you mentioned gives Meta fantastic mobility, that's what good about it.

I know one thing, if Wolf gets another goddamned Landmaster tank for a Final Smash.....

Speaking of, any word on Sakurai making Final Smashes less similar to each other? (For the ones that actually are, that is)

We've only seen two(?) final smashes so far, so we don't know yet. Of the three landmaster characters, we've only seen one so it's not like it'd be something that comes up on a daily update.

Fox can keep the Landmaster. For Falco since he's more air oriented I can imagine him jumping into an Arwing and flying around in the background shooting and ending by flying right at the screen ala Ridley from Super Metroid when you first meet him, while firing lasers.Wolf I guess he can summon the Star Wolf team to fly by and lay down some laser fire and drop bombs randomly.

In a world where Wii Fit Trainer exists in a fighting game, anything is possible.

what the fuck am i watching

thats awful

cringey

augh

The last one to do that was Mega Man.

I only need Wolf and Lucario confirmed :/

I'm more concerned about Snake at this point. I feel Lucario is definitely returning since he is still relevant to Game Freak, along with Mewtwo. And after seeing Toon Link... I think Wolf is coming back. I hope. He better not get replaced by that shitty awful Krystal.

Yep, Snake is the only character I see being cut at this point. Not for development time reasons, but because of Snake's irrelevancy on Nintendo platforms and Nintendo possibly seeing it as an advertisement for a competing console's game.

I believe Mewtwo will return also. He's been in so much media lately, he's back in the spotlight and I really think Sakurai likes Mewtwo.

I don't see any of the other cut Melee characters back, unless Doc is a Mario skin or something.

Snake may be irrelevant to nintendo consoles, but his unique moveset significantly increases his odds of staying, unless they just give it to, like, Slippy or something.

Replacing him with a Nintendo/Famicom/Advance/Batallion Wars character is an appealing idea, a Star Fox character a little less so (though still possible, at least). While Snake may or may not return I'm sure they're doing something to let the moveset live on in some form.

Eh, I would prefer anyone from Advance Wars.

Didn't even think of Advance Wars, but that'd be great too. Probably more well received than Slippy would be.

A unique moveset didn't stop this guy from being cut
Mewtwo_SSBM.jpg

That's a good point, too. But wasn't Mewtwo planned initially and cut at the last minute due to Sonic? I definitely agree that if anyone's gonna go, it's Snake. But I think they'll still make an effort to include him first.
