I guess I'd want Little Mac (or someone like him) in. He's one of the few "Classic Nintendo" characters that isn't already in/has been in Smash before at this point. Besides those kinds of characters there's random NES/Famicom characters that never really got to shine or some more modern ones like Shulk or something but I'd kinda want to see the classic, enduring characters show up before them.

Most wanted newcomer is Mike Jones. However, I had a good list of folks that I support regularly.
As for Square Enix, Chrono would be the best rep free. A little part of me would also be happy for Neku Sakuraba from The World Ends With You just for further acknowledgement of the best IP Square in recent years.

I felt same with Brawl but I can't helped but moving on toward to support characters that are deserving to be in the games.
I love ALBW Link and Zelda. I would LOVE for them to make the cut, but I know they won't :/ ALBW link could use the leaf propeller for his up B, the hammer for side B (which would donkey kong-style stick you in the ground), and do other cool stuff too.
Like Ridley.
My most wanted are the sorely needed females: Dixie Kong, Palutena, Captain Syrup, Lucina, and Krystal (screw you haters, you learned to live with 3 anthropomorphic dudes with Landmasters). Also, Shulk, Wonder-Red, and Chibi-Robo.
And I wouldn't be surprised if Monita appears in playable or assist form. I see her swinging a gigantic mallet or sword for some reason being homicidal.

I also genuinely want Krystal, but not if she's gonna share the same specials the other three Star Fox characters do.
However, I think I more strongly want Takamaru (I dunno, he's an obscure-in-the-West Nintendo character, which is a plus in my book) and a Xenoblade character (I wanna say Shulk, since he's the one wielding the Monado, but I wouldn't mind Reyn, Dunban, Sharla, Riki with his weird English voice... hell, anyone, really). Maybe Little Mac if I can be convinced how his whopping three different kinds of punches (low, high and star-powered uppercut) can be translated into a full moveset, as much as I'd want him otherwise.

Oh yeah I hope sakurai adds some fatal frame stuff.
I really want there to be some kind of transformation/gimmick character in the vein of Zelda/Sheik and Ice Climbers from Melee and Zero Suit Samus, Olimar, and Pokémon Trainer from Brawl. I don't even care who it is -- I just want there to be a newcomer with nonconventional gameplay mechanics. I can't imagine the entire cast of new characters consisting of traditional standalone fighters. Sakurai's more creative and unpredictable than that.

Lil' Mac too. After playing Punch Out!! I think his character is pretty cool. Besides, his moveset could be formed by attacks from his opponents and it could be quite diverse.

Pac-Man is one of those characters who isn't exciting, but the gameplay possibilities are huge for a game like Smash and there's a ton of history behind that franchise, both with and without Nintendo. It'd be fun if/when we see him in Smash.

Yeah, if Sakurai got Capcom to sign off on a redesign before formal talks had even begun it's pretty clearly his way or the highway. If, I reiterate - if Pac-Man is up for consideration, Sakurai's the one making the decisions on appearances. If they say no to him, it's probably not happening.
